Abstract

Health problems that often occur at the developmental stage with old age include infectious diseases such as pulmonary TB due to decreased immune system in the elderly. This can be due to the presence of family members who have a history of pulmonary TB disease, lack of understanding regarding prevention of transmission of pulmonary TB disease and in the elderly who are active smokers. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that in 2020 1.5 million people will die from pulmonary TB which makes pulmonary TB the 13th largest cause of death in the world. The large number of TB cases that occur in Indonesia are due to various factors including the home environment, the home environment with insufficient lighting, humidity and poor ventilation of the house which is a breeding ground for tuberculosis bacteria. Method: Case study by providing nursing care to the family of Mr. B especially Mrs. I by doing chest physiotherapy and effective coughing for 5 days. Results and Conclusions: The problem of ineffective airway clearance is resolved with chest physiotherapy and an effective cough which is characterized, the respiratory rate has improved, namely 19x/m, is no longer congested, the secretions are white and slimy, the amount has decreased. Patient can cough effectively, inspection: symmetrical chest movements, palpation: no lumps in the chest, percussion: sonor, auscultation: vesicular. BP : 130/90 mmhg mmHg N : 93x/m.

Abstract

Background: the elderly group is a group of people aged 60 years and over. The stage of development of the elderly family is the last stage of this family development starting when one partner dies until both of them die. Hypercholesterolemia is a condition where the amount of blood cholesterol exceeds normal limits, but high cholesterol can cause atherosclerosis which will eventually have an impact on coronary heart disease. Purpose: This case study aims to describe nursing care at the developmental stage of a hypercholesterolemic elderly family by giving bay leaf boiled water to reduce cholesterol levels in Mrs. Y's family in Kampung Bayur Pintu 1000 Tangerang. Method: a case study conducted with observation during 3 meetings with the intervention of giving bay leaf boiled water (Sygium Puolyanthum). Result: the results of the case study found that after the client applied the boiled water of bay leaves for 5 days there was a decrease in cholesterol levels from 300 mg/dl to 235 mg/dl. Conclusion: there is an effect of boiled bay leaves on reducing cholesterol in the elderly. Suggestion: it is hoped that the family will be able to optimize health management in the family for the better and be able to apply bay leaf boiled water therapy to reduce cholesterol levels which has been taught by students which is carried out routinely every day.

Abstract

Hypertension is often called the "silent killer" because it rarely shows signs and if it is suffered for a long time it can cause various complications. Hypertension requires appropriate treatment, both from a pharmacological and non-pharmacological perspective. Many non-pharmacological therapies have been developed abroad and are complementary interventions that can be used as a substitute for conventional medicine. Bay leaves contain flavonoids which function as antioxidants which can prevent oxidation of body cells. The content of flavonoids in bay leaves can be used to prevent hypertension. was to determine the effect of giving bay leaf decoction to changes in blood pressure in hypertensive patients in Kampung Bayur. of using boiled water bay leaves. By boiling with about 300 ml of water boiled for 15 minutes. After boiling in the filter and then ready to be consumed every day per 2 cups. In bay leaves there are compounds contained in bay leaves consisting of flavonoids, tannins, essential oils, eugenol, which can have an effect on reducing blood pressure. of this study was the Priuk Jaya family in July 11-15, the independent variable was giving boiled bay leaves and the dependent variable was changes in blood pressure. is that there is an effect of giving boiled bay leaf water to changes in blood pressure in hypertensive patients in Bayur Village, Periuk Jaya Health Center.

Abstract

Background: In 2023 at the Periuk Jaya Health Center, Tangerang City, gastritis ranks fourth out of the ten most common diseases at the Periuk Jaya Health Center. Management of gastritis can be done one way with non-pharmacological therapy, namely warm compresses. Applying a warm compress is an act of stimulating the skin and tissues to reduce pain. Purpose: To find out how the results of the intervention of applying warm compresses to reduce the pain scale in gastritis clients in the Periuk Jaya Health Center area. Method: Giving warm compresses to gastritis clients using a glass bottle filled with warm water with a temperature of 37-40 ℃ for 15-30 minutes. Intervention was given for 3 days of treatment once a day. Every day a pain scale was measured before and after being given a warm compress. Results: It is known that the client's gastritis pain scale before warm compresses has a moderate pain scale (4-6) and after warm compresses a pain scale of 0 (no pain) is obtained. The application of warm compresses carried out for three days had a positive effect on reducing the pain scale of gastritis clients. Conclusion: it can be concluded that this study can provide an overview of the effectiveness of applying warm compresses on reducing the pain scale of gastritis clients.
