Abstract

This study was conducted by delivering 8-day action research workshop, followed up by mentoring into each group during teacher doing action research focusing on designing action research proposal, wrting their action research report, and wrting report into scientific article,,facilitating teacher to publish their article into journal at  LPM Unimed or journal with  ISSN.This study was conducted at two partner schools:  SD Negeri 101868 Desa Sena Kecamatan Batang Kuis and  SD Negeri 105323 Desa Bakaran Batu Kecamatan Batang Kuis Kabupaten Deli Serdang. The outcome of this  IbM is Primary teachers understand principle and procedure of action research, teachers are able to design and write action research proposal, conduct action research, from planning, action, observation, until  reflection, reporting result of action research and publish them into scientific journal. The output of this IbM is product of action research reports and scientific articles, hopefully they can be published. Key Word: Action Research Workshop, Teaching Learning Innovation

Abstract

Students are an inseparable part for the advancement and development of a civilization of the thinking of a nation. Students must become virus transmitters in social change so that students do not have a distance with the community. This is where students are required to have a great commitment to engage in a change and not as pretentious with various theories of change. What is needed by the intellectuals of students today is to make the knowledge and knowledge to reconstruct and redecorate various ideas of ideas that are not only enjoyed individually but can be held morally accountable so as to affect the pattern of fikir and positive behavior patterns for the community. Transformative thinking is the ultimate goal in which the realization of the civilization of thought is to put science on the goal of its basic principle in which science no longer seeks "for what it is" or "for what it is" but how science is able to translate how science should have a real impact to solve problems that exist in the life of nation and state.

Abstract

Rivers are water bodies in open ecosystems where activities in the environment have an impact on river water quality. Monitoring of water quality is necessary to preserve aquatic resources. One of the river basins on Lombok Island is the Jangkok River. This river has a high utility, so water quality monitoring is needed. Macroinvertebrates are one of the best biological indicators for water quality monitoring. The objective of this study is to determine the diversity of macroinvertebrates and the quality of Jangkok River waters by using macroinvertebrates as bioindicators so that the results of this study can be used as a reference basis for the future use of Jangkok River water in the allocation of community needs. The method used in this research is biomonitoring with macroinvertebrate bioindicators, and the technique used in sampling is purposive sampling. Sampling was conducted at three stations, namely the upstream, middle, and downstream parts of the Jangkok River. The data analysis used was the Family Biotic Index (FBI) supported by physical-chemical parameters. The results of this study showed that the macroinvertebrates identified were 721 individuals consisting of 5 classes, 17 orders, and 36 families. The water quality of the Jangkok River, based on the FBI value in the upstream and middle sections, is still included in the good category, while in the downstream section, it falls into the very bad category.

Abstract

Science education in Indonesian elementary schools currently faces significant challenges in fostering students' critical and scientific thinking skills and positioning them as active learning subjects. A key contributing factor is teachers' insufficient knowledge regarding the effective implementation of Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), which consequently diminishes student engagement. This phenomenological study, utilising a qualitative approach, investigates elementary school teachers' understanding of IBL and analyses its practical application in science classrooms. Data were gathered through open-ended questionnaires, interviews, and literature review, involving 74 in-service teachers distributed across Indonesia's Western, Central, and Eastern regions. The findings reveal significant conceptual gaps among teachers. Particularly, teachers demonstrated a limited and often inaccurate understanding of IBL's core principles, indicating prevalent misconceptions. This knowledge deficit critically hinders the effective implementation of IBL in science instruction. Furthermore, the study identified pronounced disparities in IBL knowledge between teachers in the Western, Central, and Eastern regions, highlighting distinct regional inequities. The study emphatically concludes that the systemic integration of IBL into elementary science education is imperative. Achieving this necessitates targeted professional development programs specifically designed to address the identified knowledge gaps and regional disparities among teachers.
