Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is prone to disasters. In early 2021, a series of natural disasters hit Indonesia and claimed hundreds of lives. Starting from earthquakes, floods, tidal waves, landslides, to volcanic eruptions. During the Covid-19 pandemic, disasters will be felt more heavily by the community. Under these circumstances, the risk and transmission of diseases, especially Covid-19, increases. In dealing with disasters during the Covid-19 pandemic, community empowerment including the Darussalam Mosque Youth in Bunut Wetan Pakis Village must be carried out. The activities carried out are in the form of empowerment which is carried out for 3 days to determine the knowledge and skills of the Darussalam Mosque Youth community in Bunut Wetan Pakis Village. The results of the implementation of activities using test sheets were measured by pre-posting results, with an average pre-test score of 100% in the poor knowledge category, and an average post-test score of 100% in the good knowledge category. While the post-test results obtained 92% good knowledge category, while to be seen through the results before and before the show and the less than 100% category and after the demonstration increased to 100% good. There is an increase in knowledge and skills regarding Disaster Preparedness during the Pandemic Period. Training for Darussalam Mosque Youth is very much carried out, which can increase knowledge and understanding of disaster preparedness and preparation for disaster preparedness, and continue to use Health protocols, besides being able to educate families and surrounding communities from the results of the training

Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem-solving ability is a fundamental competency that university students must possess to meet the demands of analysis and decision-making in professional contexts. The development of this ability is influenced not only by the learning strategies applied but also by individual cognitive characteristics. This study aims to examine the effects and interaction between Project Based Learning and Direct Instruction models and students’ cognitive styles on problem-solving ability. The research employed a quasi-experimental approach with a 2×2 factorial design involving 87 students from the Health Promotion Study Program. Cognitive styles were classified into field independent and field dependent using the Group Embedded Figure Test, while problem-solving ability was assessed through scenario-based tests. The data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The findings indicate that students taught using Project Based Learning demonstrated higher problem-solving ability compared to those taught using Direct Instruction. In addition, students with a field independent cognitive style performed better than those with a field dependent style. Further analysis revealed a significant interaction between learning models and cognitive styles. These findings suggest that the effectiveness of learning strategies in enhancing problem-solving ability depends on the alignment between instructional approaches and students’ cognitive characteristics. ABSTRAK Kemampuan pemecahan masalah menjadi kompetensi esensial bagi mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tuntutan analisis dan pengambilan keputusan di dunia profesional. Pengembangan kemampuan ini tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan, tetapi juga oleh karakteristik kognitif individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh serta interaksi antara model pembelajaran Project Based Learning dan Direct Instruction dengan gaya kognitif mahasiswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan quasi-experimental dengan rancangan faktorial 2×2 yang melibatkan 87 mahasiswa Program Studi Promosi Kesehatan. Gaya kognitif diklasifikasikan menjadi field independent dan field dependent menggunakan Group Embedded Figure Test, sedangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah diukur melalui tes berbasis skenario. Data dianalisis menggunakan two-way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa yang mengikuti Project Based Learning memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan Direct Instruction. Selain itu, mahasiswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent menunjukkan performa yang lebih baik dibandingkan field dependent. Analisis lebih lanjut mengungkap adanya interaksi signifikan antara model pembelajaran dan gaya kognitif. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa efektivitas pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah bergantung pada kesesuaian antara strategi pembelajaran dan karakteristik kognitif mahasiswa.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus among adolescents is associated with unhealthy lifestyles, including low physical activity and high sedentary behavior. The use of mobile learning integrated with activity logs has emerged as an innovative approach to improve health literacy and promote behavioral change. This study aimed to determine the effect of mobile learning–based education on knowledge, physical activity behavior, and prediabetes risk parameters among adolescents. This study employed a quasi-experimental design involving 50 tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Tumpang, Malang, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using knowledge and prediabetes questionnaires. Blood glucose levels and Body Mass Index (BMI) were measured before and after the educational intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The intervention significantly improved participants’ knowledge (p = 0.000). However, the Wilcoxon test showed no significant effect on blood glucose levels (p = 0.496) or BMI (p = 0.698). Mobile learning–based education combined with activity log monitoring effectively improves adolescents’ knowledge but does not significantly affect blood glucose levels or BMI. Keywords: Education, Physical Activity, Blood Glucose, Body Mass Index, Adolescents.  ABSTRAK Peningkatan risiko Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 pada remaja berkaitan dengan gaya hidup tidak sehat, seperti rendahnya aktivitas fisik dan tingginya perilaku sedentari. Pemanfaatan mobile learning yang terintegrasi dengan log activity menjadi pendekatan inovatif dalam meningkatkan literasi kesehatan dan mendorong perubahan perilaku. Mengetahui pengaruh edukasi berbantuan mobile learning app terhadap pengetahuan, perilaku aktivitas fisik, dan parameter risiko pradiabetes pada remaja. Penelitian menggunakan desain Quasi Eksperimen dengan subyek penelitian 50 remaja SMAN 1 Tumpang Malang. Teknik Pengambilan Sampel menggunakan Purposive Sampling pada siswa kelas X. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Kuesioner pengetahuan dan prediabetes. Pengukuran Gula Darah dan IMT Remaja dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Analisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Edukasi Dan Pemantauan Log Activity Berbantuan Mobile Learning App meningkatkan pengetahuan (p= 0.000). Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh signifikan terhadap kadar gula darah (p = 0,496) maupun IMT (p = 0,698).  Edukasi dan pemantauan log activity berbantuan mobile learning app meningkatkan pengetahuan, tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kadar gula darah maupun IMT remaja. Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Aktivitas Fisik, Gula Darah, Index Masa Tubuh, Remaja.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a non-communicable disease with a continuously increasing prevalence and poses a major public health challenge. Early detection and management of T2DM risk factors at the community level are essential strategies to reduce disease burden. Health cadres play a strategic role in promotive and preventive services; however, limited knowledge and skills often hinder optimal implementation. This study aimed to improve the capacity of health cadres in early detection and management of T2DM risk factors through In-House Training. This study employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The intervention consisted of educational sessions, interactive discussions, and practical training on T2DM risk factors and community-based screening techniques. Knowledge and skills were measured before and after the training using structured assessment tools. The results showed a significant improvement in both knowledge and skills after the training. The mean knowledge score increased from 55.4 ± 12.7 (pretest) to 82.1 ± 10.3 (posttest) (p 0.001). Similarly, the mean skill score improved from 48.7 ± 11.2 to 78.6 ± 9.5 (p 0.001), indicating a statistically significant enhancement in cadre capacity. In-House Training is an effective and practical approach to strengthening the capacity of health cadres in early detection and management of T2DM risk factors. This strategy may support sustainable community-based diabetes prevention and control programs. Keywords: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Health Cadres, Early Detection, In-House Training.  ABSTRAK Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 (DMT2) merupakan penyakit tidak menular dengan prevalensi yang terus meningkat dan menjadi tantangan utama kesehatan masyarakat. Deteksi dini serta pengelolaan faktor risiko DMT2 di tingkat komunitas merupakan strategi penting untuk menurunkan beban penyakit. Kader kesehatan memiliki peran strategis dalam pelayanan promotif dan preventif, namun keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan sering menjadi hambatan dalam pelaksanaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas kader kesehatan dalam deteksi dini dan pengelolaan faktor risiko DMT2 melalui In-House Training. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre-eksperimental dengan pendekatan one-group pretest–posttest. Intervensi meliputi pemberian materi edukatif, diskusi interaktif, dan pelatihan praktik terkait faktor risiko DMT2 serta teknik skrining sederhana berbasis komunitas. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader diukur sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan menggunakan instrumen penilaian terstruktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada skor pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader setelah pelatihan. Rata-rata skor pengetahuan meningkat dari 55,4 ± 12,7 (pretest) menjadi 82,1 ± 10,3 (posttest) (p 0,001). Rata-rata skor keterampilan juga meningkat dari 48,7 ± 11,2 menjadi 78,6 ± 9,5 (p 0,001), yang menunjukkan peningkatan kapasitas kader secara bermakna. In-House Training merupakan pendekatan yang efektif dan aplikatif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas kader kesehatan dalam deteksi dini dan pengelolaan faktor risiko DMT2. Strategi ini berpotensi memperkuat upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian diabetes secara berkelanjutan di tingkat komunitas. Kata Kunci: Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2, Kader Kesehatan, Deteksi Dini, In-House Training.

Abstract

The UKS program is closely linked to the promotion of PHBS, but its suboptimal implementation often hinders the improvement of PHBS in schools. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the UKS program in improving PHBS at SMPN 6 Singosari. The research method used was qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, FGDs, observation, and documentation. Informants consisted of 4 interview informants and 8 FGD informants. The results of this study indicate that health education has been integrated into the curriculum; health services are provided internally and externally; and the healthy school environment program has focused on sanitation, land use, disease prevention, and ensuring schools are free from smoking, drugs, and bullying; PHBS at SMPN 6 Singosari has not yet met the 8 PHBS indicators in schools; Supporting factors include the availability of a UKS room, collaboration with the Singosari Community Health Center, and active mentors. Inhibiting factors include limited funding, the quantity and quality of human resources, and student non-compliance with UKS regulations. Recommendations include establishing and developing school health cadres, integrating health education into routine Friday programs, optimizing health promotion media, and collecting data on health infrastructure.
