Abstract

Early and exclusive breastfeeding is very important for a child's survival, and to protect them from various diseases to which they are susceptible and which can be fatal, such as diarrhea and pneumonia. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 6-12 months in the Tolamaera Community Health Center Working Area, Gunungsitoli Idanoi District, Gunungsitoli City, North Sumatra Province. This research is an analytical research using a cross sectional design, a sample of 75 people taken by total sampling. Analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately using the chi square test with a p- value <0.05. The results of this study show that there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea in babies aged 6-12 months in the Tolamaera Community Health Center Working Area, Gunungsitoli Idanoi District, Gunungsitoli City, North Sumatra Province with a p value = 0.000. It is hoped that midwives in the Tolamaera Community Health Center Working Area, Gunungsitoli Idanoi District, Gunungsitoli City, North Sumatra Province, can provide education about exclusive breastfeeding to the community, especially to mothers of babies and for mothers. Abstract

Kata kunci: Jus kurma susu, hemoglobin, anemia, ibu hamil ABSTRACT Background: Anemia in pregnant women is a global health problem affecting both maternal and fetal health. One promising non-pharmacological approach is the administration of date-palm milk juice. Objective: To determine the effect of date-palm milk juice on hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with mild anemia. Method: This study employed a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design. A total of 24 pregnant women with mild anemia at PMB Eka Nova, Sekayam District, were included. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: There was a significant increase in hemoglobin levels after the intervention (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Date-palm milk juice is effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with mild anemia. Keywords: Date juice, hemoglobin, anemia, pregnant women

Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is the main cause of bleeding and infection which is a major factor in maternal death. A woman who experiences bleeding after giving birth can suffer from severe blood deficiency (anemia) and experience long-term health problems. With a rate of 305 per 100,000 live births, Indonesia has a high maternal mortality rate (MMR) when compared to other ASEAN countries. The MMR target is 70 per 100,000 live births in 2030, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 2017; WHO, 2022). Currently, the rate of anemia in pregnant women is still high. Based on 2018 RISKESDAS data, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women is 48.9%, meaning that 4-5 out of 10 pregnant women suffer from anemia. Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) or Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) is an important indicator of the level of public health and is a sensitive indicator in describing the welfare of society in a country. . This research uses a cross-sectional strategy, using numerical data through a retrospective survey with a sample of 35 people. Research Results Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that p.value = 0.003 and α = 0.05, where the P.value (0.003) < α (0.05) there is a relationship between maternal parity and the incidence of anemia. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that p.value = 0.005 and α = 0.05, where the P.value (0.005) < α (0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between maternal age and the incidence of anemia. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that p.value = 0.005 and α = 0.05, where the P.value (0.005) < α (0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between pregnancy spacing and the incidence of anemia. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that p.value = 0.005 and α = 0.05, where the value of P.value (0.005) < α (0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a SEZ status with anemia incidence
