Abstract

Tuberculosis is a tropical contagious disease that is one of the targets of government programs in the eradication of infectious diseases. Indonesia is now ranked fifth with the highest burden of TB in the world. The results of TB prevalence surveys (2004) on knowledge, attitudes and behavior show that 96% of families care for family members with TB. 85% know that TB can be cured, 26% can name two major signs and symptoms of TB. The mode of transmission of TB is understood by 51% of families. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship of behavior with the incidence of tuberculosis in Puskesmas Jagir Kecamatan Wonokromo Kota Surabaya. The study was conducted November 1, 2014 - January 27 2015, the design of case control research, the risk factor of this study is the behavior of the patient, the effect is the incidence of tuberculosis. Respondents were cases of 10 people and control 26 people. Univariate analysis describes knowledge, attitude, action and behavior respondent. Bivariate analysis using contingency coefficient calculation result. The greater incidence of tuberculosis did not occur in respondents with favorable attitudes (p = 0.013, r = 0.383, OR = 7.667), respondents who carried out preventive measures of transmission (p = 0.001 r = 0.286 OR = 37.5) good (p = 0.001, r = 0.494, OR = 24,429). It is necessary to increase the willingness and behavior (knowledge, attitude and actions) of tuberculosis patients in an effort to reduce the incidence of tuberculosis, by increasing the dissemination of information not only to the patient but also to the community. Keyword: Knowledge, Attitude, Action, Behaviour, Tuberculosis

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berjudul Upaya Peningkatan Status Kesehatan Siswa Sekitar Tempat Pembuangan Akhir Di SD Sidowarek 02 Kecamatan Plemahan Kabupaten Kediri. Tujuan Pengabdian ini adalah untuk melaksanakan Upaya Peningkatan Status Kesehatan Siswa Sekitar Tempat Pembuangan Akhir Di SD Sidowarek 02 Kecamatan Plemahan Kabupaten Kediri. Target pengabdian ini adalah siswa kelas V dan VI SD Sidowarek 02 Kecamatan Plemahan Kabupaten Kediri. Luaran pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku siswa tentang perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat. Metode yang digunakan adalah dalam bentuk penyampaian materi tentang perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat dengan menggunakan Booklet dan Banner. Kesimpulan dari pengabdian ini adalah siswa mengetahui perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, bersikap favorable tetapi dalam pelaksanaannya masih kurang tepat. Siswa lebih banyak meniru kebiasaan orang di sekitarnya. Misalnya cuci tangan bersih saja menggunakan air, jarang menggunakan sabun dan air yang mengalir, hanya sedikit siswa yang menyukai sayuran dalam konsumsi makanan pokok sehari-hari, masih ada yang buang air besar di sungai, merokok. Setelah kegiatan ini, diharapkan siswa akan belajar berperilaku hidup bersih dan sehat sesuai dengan materi yang telah diberikan dan dari sumber informasi lainnya, misalnya dari petugas kesehatan, membaca dari booklet, banner, leaflet/brosur dan lainnya.

Abstract

Mental health is an integral part of health, and a condition that affects the physical, mental, and  social  development  of  the  individual  optimally.  Mental  disorder  is  disturbances  in:  cognitive, volition, emotion (affective), and actions (psychomotor). Mental disorder is a collection of abnormal circumstances, whether physically related, or mentally. It is divided into two groups, namely: mental disorder  (neurosis)  and  mental  illness  (psychosis).  Mental  disorder  is  caused  by  some  of  the  above causes affected simultaneously or coincidence occurs. The purpose of this study was to increase the role of family and society in the treatment of mental disorder patients which was consequently could reduce the number of mental disorders patients This research used obsevational design with descriptive analy- sis. The subjects were family members who treat mental disorder patients as much as 16 respondents. The data collection was done in October 2012. The family role data grouped into appropriate and inappro- priate  category.  The  research  found  that  11  people  (68.75%)  in  the  category  of  inappropriate,  and appropriate by 5 people (31.25%), with average family role of 63.19%. The higher of inappropriate category was because 9 respondents (56.25%) in the age of elderly (> 50 years). This condition caused a decrease in the ability to perform daily activities, including health treatment. There were 4 patients who have been treated for 7-14 years, so the family feels accustomed to the condition of the patient. There were 8 people (50%) in productive age treated the patients, so it could not be done continuously. Based on these conditions, there should be efforts to increase knowledge and willingness of the patients and families, in caring for patients with mental disorders. The examples of such activities were to consult with the nearest health employees, and report to the health worker if there is a risky condition immedi- ately.
