Abstract

Electronic medical record (EMR) systems are replacing manual methods to improve the management of patient information, increase data accuracy and work efficiency of healthcare workers, particularly in medical record units. Despite obstacles such as lack of infrastructure and user skills, previous researchers have shown that electronic medical records (EMR) have positive effects on work effectiveness including reduced service time and increased efficiency in carrying out tasks. The Objective of this research is to establish what the application of RME entails and work effectiveness in the medical record unit of Ciremai Hospital. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach featuring a cross-sectional design. The participants in this study consisted of 26 medical record officers with purposive sampling technique using inclusion and exclusion criteria, by collecting questionnaire data. The results showed that most respondents rated the application of RME as very good (66.7%) and work effectiveness in the good category (58.3%). The highest scores of the RME implementation aspects were in confidentiality (98.3%), integrity (97.7%), and data availability (96.9%). Meanwhile, in work effectiveness, the highest score was in the aspect of work quantity (97.9%), followed by work quality (94.1%) and work time (73.5%). However, based on the Fisher Exact test, a significance value of 1.000 (p 0.05) was obtained, indicating that there was no significant relationship between the implementation of RME and the work effectiveness of officers. In conclusion, although RME is considered to have been implemented very well, work effectiveness is not directly influenced by the implementation of this system. It indicated the need for evaluation of other factors such as training, change management, and infrastructure readiness served as the main support for the successful implementation of information technology in hospitals.

Abstract

The ICU is one of the largest clinical cost centers in hospitals due to its high demand for human resources, medical equipment, and operational costs. This situation emphasizes that intensive care unit efficiency is a multidimensional issue that cannot be assessed solely from a single aspect. This study aims to analyze the efficiency of the intensive care unit at Ciremai Hospital, Cirebon City, using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model to determine resource optimization. Analytical quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study consisted of personnel in the ICU of Ciremai Hospital from 2023 to 2025, with total sampling applied. The input variables included the number of physicians, nurses, beds, monitors, and ventilators, while the output variables consisted of BOR, LOS, and recovered patients. The ICU input variables remained stable during the study period, while output variables fluctuated with a declining trend in BOR and LOS. The results of the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) indicated that all study periods achieved an efficiency score of 1.00 (efficient), with a slack value of 0.00 across all input variables.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Southeast Asia has the highest prevalence of pulmonary TB globally (45.6%), with Indonesia ranking second worldwide (9.2%). West Java Province accounts for the largest share of cases in Indonesia, representing 23% of the national total. According to the 2023 Global TB Report, the estimated number of TB cases in Indonesia reached 1,090,000, or 387 per 100,000 population. This study aims to map and describe the spatial distribution of pulmonary TB prevalence as well as risk factors, including nutritional status, smoking habits, and household contact in West Java Province using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The study design employed a quantitative analytical approach using a cross-sectional ecological method, utilizing secondary data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) across 27 districts/cities in West Java Province. Spatial analysis was conducted using QGIS for mapping. The results showed that the distribution of pulmonary TB was dominated by the low category (<0.3%) in 14 areas, the moderate category (0.4–0.7%) in 11 areas, and the high category (>0.8%) in 2 areas. The risk factors of malnutrition and smoking were dominated by the moderate category, while household contact was dominated by the low category. The distribution patterns of risk factors do not always align with the distribution of pulmonary TB, indicating the presence of multidimensional influences. This mapping provides a foundation of information for more targeted pulmonary TB control interventions.
