Abstract

Pakcoy plants need nutrients like POC and organic growing media such as charcoal, cocopeat and sawdust to grow well. This research aims to determine the response of pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L.) to various planting media with bamboo shoot POC at different concentrations, as well as the interaction between the two. This research was structured using a randomized block design (RAK) in factorial form, with the first factor being planting media using husk charcoal (M1), sawdust (M2) and cocopeat (M3), while the second factor was POC treatment which consisted of 4 doses, namely; 0 ml POC/100 ml water (D0), 20 ml POC/100 ml water (D1), 40 ml POC/100 ml water (D2), and 60 ml POC/100ml water (D3). Pakcoy plant variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area index, fresh weight of stover, wet weight of roots, and root length. The data analysis used was analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a confidence level of 95% (α 0.05) and α 0.01). If p ≥ α 0.05, then the BNJ 0.05 further test is carried out (5% confidence level). The results of the study showed that the interaction between the planting medium used and the POC dose of bamboo shoots only had a significant effect on the root length of pak choy plants in the combination of sawdust planting medium and POC 60 ml/100 ml water (M3D3), while the other parameters did not have a real impact. Partially, 99% of the best response of pakchoy plants was using charcoal husk planting medium (M1), while using POC bamboo shoots showed the best response was shown when using a POC dose of 60 ml/100 ml water.

Abstract

Karakterisasi morfologi perlu dilakukan sebagai langkah awal untuk memanfaatkan jenis padi lokal, khususnya terkait upaya pemuliaan tanaman padi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkarakterisasi morfologi Padi Hoeng, yang merupakan padi lokal Kabupaten Merauke. Bahan penelitian adalah aksesi Padi Hoeng yang ditemukan di Distrik Kurik dan Distrik Tanah Miring, jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah lima tanaman untuk masing-masing aksesi. Karakterisasi dilakukan berdasarkan Panduan Sistem Karakterisasi dan Evaluasi Tanaman Padi. Data yang diambil adalah karakter morfologi vegetatif dan malai padi, data ditabulasi dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan mencolok pada karakter kuantitatif seperti tinggi tanaman, panjang daun, lebar daun, panjang lidah daun, panjang daun bendera, dan jumlah anakan. Untuk karakter tinggi tanaman, jenis padi Hoeng Kurik termasuk kategori pendek (<110 cm), sedangkan padi Hoeng Tanah Miring termasuk kategori tinggi (>130 cm). Pada variable panjang daun, padi Hoeng Kurik termasuk dalam kategori pendek (21-40 cm), sedangkan padi Hoeng Tanah Miring termasuk dalam kategori panjang (61-80 cm). Hasil pengamatan karakter kualitatif, seperti permukaan daun, sudut daun, warna leher dan telinga daun, bentuk ligula dan sudut daun bendera, baik pada padi Hoeng Kurik maupun Hoeng Tanah Miring menunjukkan tidak ada keragaman. Untuk karakter morfologi malai, Padi Hoeng yang ditemukan di Distrik Kurik dan Tanah Miring memiliki tipe malai antara kompak dan sedang, bulu ujung gabah yang panjang dan semuanya berbulu, bulu ujung gabah dan ujung gabah berwarna ungu, serta cabang malai sekunder yang sedikit. Kelebihan Padi Hoeng adalah rasa beras yang pulen, namun dari sisi produksi, hasilnya masih minim. Perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk melihat sifat-sifat ketahanan padi ini terhadap cekaman biotik dan abiotik.

Abstract

The use of botanical pesticides is an environmentally friendly alternative to pest control. The weakness of botanical pesticides is their low adhesion to the leaf surface, thus reducing their effectiveness. This study aims to test the effectiveness of aloe vera gel as a natural adhesive in botanical pesticides made from soursop leaves. The study was conducted with a completely randomized design (CRD) using four doses of aloe vera gel (P0 = 0gr, P1 = 2gr, P2 = 4gr, P3 = 6gr) mixed with leaf extract. The mixture of extract and aloe vera was then sprayed on the feed. The parameters observed included the mortality of the test insects, the mortality rate and LC50. The results showed that treatment P3 (extract + 6gr aloe vera) caused the highest mortality of 2.4 individuals and was very significantly different compared to other treatments. The mortality rate 8-48 hours after observation showed that treatment P3 (extract + 6gr aloe vera) caused the highest and fastest mortality compared to other treatments. The treatment given to the test larvae showed body malformations such as stiffness and shortening of the body.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the growth rate of nilam plants based on the planting media's composition and the cuttings' source. This research was structured using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 factors, namely the first factor, namely the source of patchouli plant cuttings, namely stem cuttings (S1) and branch cuttings (S2), then the second factor, namely the planting media combination with a combination of M1 (2kg cow manure: 2kg husk: 1kg sand: 1kg soil), M2 (1kg cow manure: 1kg husk: 1kg sand: 1kg soil), M3 (2kg cow manure: 2kg husk: 2kg sand: 2kg soil). The parameters observed were the percentage of growth power (%), cutting height growth (cm), shoot height (cm), number of shoots, number of shaped leaves (strands), and root length (cm). The best growth rate for patchouli plant cuttings is stem cuttings (S1) with an average growth percentage (96.67%), increase in cutting height (11.66 cm), shoot height (2.82 cm), number of shoots ( 7), and the number of shaped leaves (17,13). The best type of planting media composition is the M1 treatment for observing the growth of cutting height, shoot height, number of shoots, number of leaves formed, and root length. The best interaction treatment is the source of stem cuttings with a combination of planting media (S1M1).
