Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mythical phenomenon in Minangkabau Culture towards the religious rituals of the Millennial generation in West Sumatera. The method used is based on mix method research; first, researchers identify quantitatively to examine the impact of mythical truth from the perspective of the millennial generation; second, the researchers adopted a qualitative method to identify the response and impact of myths on the religious rituals of the Millennial generation. Researchers used a random sampling technique with 107 respondents. This study identified that 77 people admitted that there were myths that developed in the Minangkabau community and 30 people admitted that they were not aware of the existence of myths. The findings of this study showed the millennial generation in particular does not believe in myths, it only leads to the preservation of education of local cultural values. This research is limited to the sample and research methods used, so that further research is needed regarding the social and religious impacts when myths become the basis of people's lives.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the values ​​of the Living Qur'an in the Millennial Generation based on Minangkabau ethnic background. This study used a case study design with 33 informants consisting of several universities with Minangkabau ethnic backgrounds even though the agencies they are sheltered from are from outside West Sumatra. Data collection techniques included limited observation, documentation of traditional activities in the surrounding environment and distribution of questionnaires with 20 questions via Google form, while data analysis used the Milles and Hubberman techniques. This research shows that the values ​​of the Living Qur'an in the Millennial Generation are applied to traditions developed in certain areas, such as traditions of birth, marriage and death. Basically, this research identifies that the internalization of the values ​​of the living Qur'an is still used even in the millennial generation environment. The research findings corroborate the values ​​of the Living Qur'an strengthen the activities of the millennial generation which are based on the sources of Al-Qur'an law. This research is still limited to samples and objects of study in the traditions of birth, marriage and death. On that basis, the researcher recommends identifying a variety of themes and a wider sample.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the research methods and issues discussed by graduates of the Qur'an and Tafsir Study Program and their relation to the development of dialogue-interaction science as the philosophical foundation of the scientific paradigm of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. This research is a qualitative literature research. The primary data of this research is the results of research by students of the Qur'an and Tafsir Study Program for the 2017 and 2018 batches because these two generations have graduated since the change in the philosophical foundation of the scientific paradigm of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, namely interaction-dialogical. While the secondary data obtained from the literature related to the research discussion. The data analysis method used is the content analysis method. The results of this study indicate that the method used by students of the Qur'an and Tafsir Study Program in completing the thesis is dominated by literature review as much as 69% with a total of 104 thesis titles and a field study of 31% with a total of 46 thesis titles. The interpretation method that is widely used is the maudhu'i interpretation method for library research and the living qur'an for field studies. while the issues most written by students were social and cultural issues as much as 55% of the total research. This proves that the interactions of the scientific studies of the Qur'an and the interpretation of the Qur'an and Tafsir Study Programs interact more and have dialogue with the social sciences. For this reason, the Al-Qur'an and Tafsir Study Program has been able to develop science that is not only based on normative-orthodox or textual-normative turats (traditions), but has also been able to dialogue with scientific development and local culture. So that the principles and scientific foundations of the dialogue-interaction have been imprinted in the graduates and scientific works of graduates of this study program.
