Abstract

One of the causes of the high maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is the lack of knowledge about prenatal care and the cultural influences that have been passed down from generation to generation ancestors. This study aimed to determine the prenatal care in Javanese culture perspective Kaliori Village, District of Kalibagor. This study used a qualitative approach postpartum mothers as key informan and leaders and midwives as supporters informants are community. Data analysis was performed by content analysis. The results showed pregnant women performed rituals that were ngupati and mitoni, food taboos and believed in pregnancy myths. Pregnant women who live with their parents or they did parent in-laws have the intention to do that behavioral, but pregnant women who live alone do not have the intention to performed that. Pregnant women felt happy to get any attention from most influence person for them.  Selecting the information obtained from of friends, internet, family and midwife was as control behavior. Midwife advice that pregnant women should not refrain from some food because it can cause anemia and low birth weight infants. Study recommend  midwives and community leaders working together to provide socialization in prenatal care, especially related to food taboos and myths about pregnancy.

Abstract

Teachers strive to improve student learning outcomes in science subjects through the use of approaches to classroom learning. As for the chosen approach to improve learning outcomes, foster a spirit of learning, diligence, and respect for each other is the approach of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) using power points. The study aims to: 1) describe the implementation of contextual teaching and learning using power points to improve the learning outcomes of light properties in grade IV students at SDN 12 Palu (2) describing increased learning outcomes on the properties of light in grade IV students at SDN 12 Palu through the application of contextual teaching and learning using power points. The research method uses the classroom action research design Mc. Taggart, consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research location is at SDN 12 Palu. The research subjects (n = 24) consisting of 13 male students and 11 female students. Data retrieval techniques using observation methods and tests. Data analysis is conducted with qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that students' activity in Cycle I gained 71.33% or enough category, increasing in cycles of II 86.66% or very good category. Learning activities through the results of observation of teacher skills on cycle I, obtained 76% or good, and cycle II 90.66% or very good. Student learning data for the classical absorbent (DSK) cycle I (63%) and cycle II (80%). For the classical learning (KBK) cycle I (58%) and cycle II (83%). Based on these results, it was concluded that the implementation of contextual teaching and learning using power points can increase the activity and outcomes of science in class IV SDN 12 Palu.

Abstract

Speaking ability is the process of communicating through the articulation of sounds to convey meaning so that the message can be understood by others. This study examines the use of hand puppet media in developing children's speaking abilities at TK Anata Singgani, as well as the challenges faced by teachers when using hand puppet media in the same institution. The theoretical foundation used in this research is motivation theory. The aim of this study is to understand how hand puppet media is used and what obstacles teachers encounter in enhancing children's speaking abilities at TK Anata Singgani. The findings of the study indicate that the use of hand puppet media contributes to the development of children's speaking skills at TK Anata Singgani. However, several challenges are faced by teachers when using this media, including: a lack of hand puppet resources, limited responses from students, insufficient storytelling skills among teachers, children’s lack of focus, and the fact that not all children are able to understand the stories or sentences conveyed through hand puppet media.

Abstract

AbstrakProses pembelajaran IPA di sekolah mitra masih menghadapi sejumlah keterbatasan, antara lain keterbatasan alat praktikum, rendahnya pemahaman guru terhadap penggunaan KIT (Kotak Instrumen Terpadu), serta kurangnya keterampilan dalam menyusun bahan ajar bermuatan karakter maupun media praktikum yang menarik. Kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menyediakan alat peraga IPA di sekolah mitra, (2) meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan alat peraga IPA, (3) melatih guru menyusun Modul Aktivitas Sains bermuatan karakter sebagai inovasi pembelajaran, (4) melatih guru menggunakan aplikasi Scratch sebagai media praktikum IPA, dan (5) menyediakan buku yang memuat nilai-nilai karakter. Kegiatan dilaksanakan bersama 10 guru SD N 2 Manukaya, Tampaksiring, Gianyar, melalui empat tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pelatihan dan pendampingan, evaluasi melalui presentasi dan konsultasi, serta implementasi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi serta pretest–posttest. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sekitar 80% guru mampu mengoperasikan KIT IPA, menyusun modul aktivitas siswa bermuatan karakter, dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran IPA berbasis aplikasi Scratch. Kata kunci: optimalisasi; KIT; IPA; modul aktivitas siswa; Scratch. AbstractThe science learning process at the partner school remains constrained by limited practicum equipment, insufficient teacher competence in utilizing the Integrated Instrument Box (KIT), and inadequate skills in developing character-based teaching materials and engaging practicum media. This Community Service Program (PKM) was designed to: (1) provide science teaching aids for the partner school, (2) strengthen teachers’ ability to effectively use science teaching aids, (3) facilitate the development of Character-Based Science Activity Modules as an instructional innovation to foster character education, (4) enhance teachers’ capacity to employ the Scratch application as practicum media in science learning, and (5) provide books incorporating character values. The program involved 10 teachers from SD N 2 Manukaya, Tampaksiring, Gianyar, and was implemented through four stages: preparation, training and mentoring, evaluation through presentation and consultation, and implementation. Program evaluation, conducted through observation and pretest–posttest, revealed that approximately 80% of participants successfully operated the KIT, developed character-based activity modules, and designed digital practicum media using Scratch. Keywords: optimization; KIT; IPA; student activity module; Scratch.
