Abstract

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low problem-solving ability of students in opportunity materials based on previous research. This study aims to determine the influence of Genially-assisted Problem Based Instruction (PBI) on the problem-solving ability of grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Sakti Pumu. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The research sample amounted to 48 students who were selected using random sampling techniques consisting of two classes, namely the experimental class that used Genially-assisted Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning and the control class that used conventional learning methods. The research instruments are in the form of pretest and posttest tests. The results showed that there was a significant increase in students' problem-solving ability in the experimental class reaching 68.08%, higher than the control class of 55.45%. As well as the results of statistical tests that show a significant influence. These results prove that the application of Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning assisted by Genially is effective in improving students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the Mean Board teaching aid on students’ conceptual understanding in statistics material for eighth grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Pagar Alam in the academic year 2025/2026. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The study involved 59 students consisting of 30 students in the experimental class and 27 students in the control class. The experimental class was taught using the Mean Board teaching aid, while the control class was taught using a conventional approach. The data collection techniques included normality testing, homogeneity testing, and the independent sample t-test. The results of the study showed that the average conceptual understanding of students taught using the Mean Board teaching aid was better than that of students taught using the conventional approach. This indicates that the use of the Mean Board teaching aid has an effect on students’ conceptual understanding in statistics material. Therefore, the Mean Board teaching aid is very helpful in assisting students to understand learning materials.
