Abstract

Reading the Qur’an is an essential basic skill for every Muslim, not only as a form of worship but also as a means of understanding Islamic teachings and developing spiritual character. This study examines the application of the Thoriqoty method in enhancing Qur’an reading creativity among students at SDI 2 Pojok, Kediri. The Thoriqoty method offers a varied and flexible approach, combining drills, demonstrations, immediate feedback, and progress monitoring to foster students’ reading skills, religious attitudes, discipline, and self-confidence. A descriptive-analytical qualitative approach was employed through a case study, with data collected from interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and parents. The results indicate that this method is effective in improving Qur’an reading skills and establishing students’ spiritual foundations; however, it still faces challenges such as varying learning motivation, limited independent practice, restricted individual attention from teachers, and suboptimal facilities. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening teachers’ pedagogical competence, enhancing students’ internal motivation, and providing adequate learning resources so that the Thoriqoty method can cultivate a generation of young people who are proficient in reading the Qur’an and well-developed in both character and spirituality.

Abstract

Abstract Transformative education emphasizes that the success of learning lies in the opportunity for learners to assess their own learning experiences. Therefore, measuring the quality of education needs to prioritize a more humanistic approach. One form of empowerment is designing a learning model that honors the learners. Life Based Learning is a series of learning activities connected to real-life experiences and provides space for the development of individual skills. This learning is understood as a process of learning from all aspects of life, at any time and from any source. This study aims to describe teachers' perceptions of Life Based Learning, its implementation, and its evaluation process. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involves collection, presentation, reduction, and drawing conclusions. The study results show that teachers view Life Based Learning as a model that encourages students to acquire knowledge and skills to understand the essence of life, solve problems, and live harmoniously. The implementation of Life Based Learning at MIN 2 Kediri is integrated into teaching and learning activities under both the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum, including habits before, during, and after learning, as well as activities at home and in the community through six dimensions. Evaluation uses assessments of both the process and outcomes. These findings confirm that Life Based Learning is relevant for enhancing the quality of education in a sustainable and comprehensive manner. Keywords: Life-Based Learning Model, Islamic Primary Education Institutions, Transformative Islamic Education. Abstract

Curriculum is a fundamental component of every educational institution, yet determining an appropriate curriculum remains a significant challenge. Pondok Modern Darul Ihsan Nganjuk addresses this issue by integrating multiple curricula into its educational system. This study examines the institution’s curriculum integration through Robin Fogarty’s framework of curriculum integration models. Using a qualitative approach, the research identifies the integration model applied and evaluates its implications for curriculum implementation. The findings indicate that the Arabic language curriculum primarily reflects the Integrated Model, which connects Arabic instruction with various fields of Islamic studies at the junior and senior secondary levels. In addition, the curriculum incorporates elements of the Nested Model by integrating multiple skills, concepts, and learning standards within individual lessons. These findings demonstrate that the institution adopts a comprehensive curriculum integration approach to enhance the effectiveness of Arabic language learning.
