Abstract

In Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, antibiotic use is very high, reaching more than 80% in several provinces in Indonesia. This will lead to antibiotic resistance, one of the top three public health threats of the 21st century. Research needs to be carried out regarding the level of knowledge and behavior of mothers in using antibiotics for children's diarrhea. This was quantitative research with an analytical observational method with a cross sectional approach. Respondents filled out a questionnaire regarding their knowledge and behavior of using antibiotics which has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis using chi square. There were 100 people. The research results showed that most research subjects were mothers aged 26-30 years (29%). Based on the level of knowledge, most subjects were in the sufficient category (56%), and based on maternal behavior the majority were in the poor category (69%). There is no relationship between mother's knowledge and behavior in using antibiotics in children with diarrhea with a p value of 0.831. It can be concluded that here is no relationship between mother's knowledge and behavior in using antibiotics in children with diarrhea with a p value of 0.831.

Abstract

Early marriage has emerged as a critical issue in societal development, especially among adolescents, attracting attention at both international and national levels. With the prevalence of early marriage reaching up to 41.9% in some countries, including Indonesia, this issue demands special attention to mitigate its negative impacts on education, health, and social welfare of adolescents. This study aims to analyze the relationship between adolescents' knowledge and their attitudes towards early marriage in Sindang Heula Village, Serang Regency, in 2023, focusing on how specific knowledge about the consequences of early marriage influences adolescents' attitudes. The research methodology employs a cross-sectional design, selected to evaluate the influence of knowledge on adolescents' attitudes towards early marriage at a specific point in time, involving a total sample of 91 respondents from the adolescent population in Sindang Heula Village, which totals 1,090 individuals. Univariate analysis results show that 55.0% of adolescents have insufficient knowledge about early marriage, and an equal number exhibit negative attitudes towards early marriage. Bivariate analysis reveals a significant relationship between knowledge and adolescents' attitudes towards early marriage. Based on these findings, this study recommends that stakeholders, especially health professionals, regularly conduct socialization or education about early marriage to ensure that the community, particularly adolescents, understand the impact of early marriage, thereby encouraging a decrease in early marriage rates.

This research method is a quantitative method with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 110 respondents, the sample sorting technique was by means of data taken through the absence of each class and then the data on the names of the students were entered into the shuffle, the names that came out would be used as respondents. The measuring tool in this study was a questionnaire using a measurement scale in the form of a Likert scale. Data analysis in this study was univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the SPSS program. The results of the Chi Square test obtained p = 0.008 so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the use of social media and learning concentration. From the results of the analysis, the value of OR=3.651 was also obtained, meaning that students who use social media negatively will be 3.6 times at risk of experiencing poor concentration in learning. This research is expected to be a guideline or description for future researchers to be able to conduct research using other research methods, namely quantitative methods.
