Abstract

The title of this research is the implementation of local wisdom-based school culture as character strengthening at Perumnas Peunyareng Elementary School, West Aceh District. The research problem is how to implement local wisdom-based school culture as a character booster at Perumnas Peunyareng Elementary School, West Aceh District. The research method used is a qualitative method. Collecting data using interview techniques, observation and documentation. The results of the study can be concluded that the implementation of local wisdom-based school culture as character strengthening in elementary schools in West Aceh District is carried out through the planning, implementation and evaluation stages of the implementation of local wisdom-based school culture. Then the implementation of local wisdom-based school culture at the Perumnas Peunyareng Elementary School in West Aceh Regency was carried out in three forms, namely through the academic process, the second was the socio-cultural process and the third was through the democratic process. Through the forms of implementation that are carried out, it can strengthen the character of students, for example the embedded character of discipline, honesty, cooperation, mutual help, religious, responsibility, caring attitude and so on. The implementation of local wisdom-based school culture is still experiencing obstacles including the limited number of teachers who are professional in regional dances, limited support facilities and limited time available
