Abstract

Topographic data visualization has been changed into geodatabase cartography. So far, freehand drawing has been used to visualize topographic data. Unfortunately, freehand drawing does not connect its graphical features with its database, meaning that the attributes data not exist in the freehand drawing. Meanwhile, the existing cartographic rules for map representations still based on the freehand drawing and this is become a great challenge to transform these rules into geodatabase cartographic data visualization. The geodatabase cartography and its representation should be defined first in order to follow the existing rules and analyze it. On the other hand, there is another challenge related to human resource capability to understand the transformation process from drawing method into geodatabase cartography. This paper explores the transformation of topographic map visualization and its geodatabase design.

Abstract

Mango pulp weevil (MPW) and mango seed weevil (MSW) are found in only three species in the world, namely Sternochetus frigidus (MPW), Sternochetus mangiferae (MSW) and Sternochetus olivieri (MSW). These pests are the main pests for mango in several countries including Indonesia. But there is currently no report on the status of the three insects of Sternochetus in Indonesia, so that the information received by the Center for Agriculture and Biosciences International (CABI) as a worldwide plant pest data center is based on Kalshoven (1981). The purpose of this study was to identify species, to test the attack level and to conduct no-choice test on Sternochetus host in mango. This study was conducted at the Applied Research Institute of Agriculture Quarantine from March to October 2017. Kuweni fruit (Mangifera odorata) that was confirmed to be infested by Sternochetus insect was collected from Pesisir selatan District of West Sumatra, North Lampung District, Lubuk Linggau District of South Sumatera and Bekasi District of West Java Provinces respectively. The species identification was performed on the male genital (aedeagus) of the insect, which was obtained from the Kuweni fruit aged 95-115 days. The fruit collection from the three locations have identified S. frigidus species, with overlapping apical sclerite characteristics. In Bekasi District, S. frigidus insect could not infest the Kuweni fruit. Attack level test of S. frigidus in kuweni fruit in all three locations reached 93%. The result of host status test with no choice test showed that S. frigidus was able to infest harum manis and manalagi mango (Mangifera indica) and did not infest sapodilla fruit.

Abstract

Diversity of Colletotrichum Species Assosiated with Imported Citrus Fruits, and their Potential to Infect Chili, Rubber, and Cacao Trees in Indonesia Colletotrichum species have been widely reported as causative agents of anthracnose in citrus trees. The importation of citrus fruits brings the risks of introducing introducing species of Colletotrichum new to Indonesian territory. This research was conducted to identify species of Colletotrichum from imported citrus fruits and to evaluate their potential to infect important horticultural and plantation crops in Indonesia. A total of 7 Colletotrichum isolates were isolated from imported citrus fruit from China, Pakistan, and Indonesian local citrus fruit. The Colletotrichum isolates were observed for their morphological and molecular characteristics as well as their pathogenicity on citrus fruit, chili, rubber and cocoa trees. Phylogenetic analysis was carried out using the MLSA (multilocus sequence analysis) method which combines the ITS, ACT, TUB2 and GAPDH gene loci. Identification of Colletotrichum isolates resulted in one species of the C. boninense complex species (C. karstii) and 3 species of the C. gloeosporioides complex species (C. fructicola, C. gloeosporioides sensu stricto, and C. siamense). The Colletotrichum isolate from Indonesian citrus was identified as C. gloeosporioides sensu stricto. The C. fructicola strain could infect chilies, while the C. karstii strain could infect chili and cocoa. Strain of C. gloeosporioides s.s. and C. siamense have a wider host range, namely chili, rubber, and cocoa. Several species of Colletotrichum carried by imported citrus fruits could become pathogens in several important crops in Indonesia, including chili, rubber, and cocoa.

Abstract

Bacterial panicle blight in rice plants caused by Burkholderia glumae. These bacteria interfere with the grain filling process so that the grain is not filled and can cause yield losses of up to 75% on pathogenic infested land. This study was conducted to determine the effect of B. glumaesuspension volume and inoculation method on the development of bacterial panicle blight. The research was conducted on vegetative and generative rice plants using a factorial completely randomized design with the volume of bacterial suspension as the first factor and the inoculation method as the second factor. The results showed that the higher the volume of the B. glumaesuspension inoculated, the higher the severity of bacterial panicle blight in rice plants. Both the inoculation and injection methods can cause the same disease severity. Besides, the severity of bacterial panicle blight in the generative phase is more severe than in the vegetative phase

Abstract

Purpose of Study. This research was aimed to describe: (1) The physical degree of students in XI class of SMA Negeri 3 Sukadana in Kayong Utara Regency; (2) The student’s achievement in XI class of SMA Negeri 3 Sukadana in Kayong Utara Regency; (3) The correlation between physical fitness toward student’s learning performance in XI class of  SMA Negeri 3 Sukadana in Kayong Utara Regency. Material and Method. The research method used was a descriptive correlative study wita h quantitative approach. The technique of data collection was by using measurement and document study. The instruments used were the test of Tes Kebugaran Jasmani Indonesia (TKJI) to know the student’s physical degree, where the test was intended to 16-19 years old students. Meanwhile, to get the information related to student’s achievement, the instrument used was the students achievement document. The sample of the study were XI class students of SMA Negeri 3 Sukadana in Kayong Utara Regency, which consist of 36 students. The technique of data analysis by using the formula if product moment correlation. Results. (1) The average fitness of the students physics in this class is 13.4, which is categorize as poor; (2) The average score of the students learning performance in physical education is 80.1, which was categorized as good; (3) In order to find out whether there is correlation or not between the students physical fitness and their physical achievement, the hypothesis was tested by using product moment correlation with rvalue = -0,936 < rtabel  = 0,32. Conclusion. Based on the data analysis it can be concluded that there is no significant positive correlation between the student’s physical fitness and their learning performance of XI class students in SMA Negeri 3 Sukadana in Kayong Utara Regency.
