Abstract

The climate in Indonesia usually runs yearly; there are times when a decrease in rainfall results in drought, and at other times, the rainfall increases resulting in flooding. One of the causes of changes in precipitation in Indonesia, including in most parts of the world, is ENSO (El Nino-Southern Oscillation), often called El Nino. This study aimed to determine the relationship between ENSO index data (SST Nino 3.4 anomaly) and monthly rainfall data in Buleleng Regency. This study uses secondary data, namely monthly rainfall data at 16 rain posts in Buleleng Regency and ENSO Index data from BMKG Region III Denpasar. Data were collected through observation, document recording and analyzed using statistical correlation methods. Furthermore, the results are processed spatially, namely by the Isohyet method. The research results show that the impact of El Nino on rainfall in Buleleng varies spatially and depends on the intensity of El Nino. In June-July-August (JJA/dry season) and September-October-November (SON/transition season), the impact of El Nino on rainfall variability in Buleleng Regency is more significant than other months, strong El Nino causes a decrease in rainfall in the majority of the Buleleng region with the characteristic of Below Normal rain (30% decrease in precipitation from the average), El Nino of weak - moderate intensity causes a reduction in rainfall in a small part of the Buleleng area with the dominant rain characteristic of Below Normal. Keywords: El Nino, Precipitation Variability, and Correlation Index.

Abstract

Lovina Beach in Buleleng Regency, Bali, is a well-known marine tourism destination whose main attraction is dolphin watching. However, disparities in the distribution of tourism facilities, lack of service standardization, and absence of cross-village coordination remain major challenges that threaten service quality and environmental sustainability. Previous studies have highlighted ecological and management issues but have not focused on spatial mapping and facility distribution inequalities. This study aims to map the distribution of dolphin watching accommodations and tourist facilities in Temukus, Kaliasem, and Kalibukbuk Villages, as well as to analyze differences in ticket prices, boat capacity, and management challenges between villages. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method combined with GIS-based mapping, using data from field observations, in-depth interviews with tourism actors, and documentation between May–June 2025. Results show an uneven distribution of facilities, with Kalibukbuk having the most complete infrastructure while Temukus and Kaliasem remain underdeveloped. Ticket prices are uniform at IDR 100,000 despite service disparities, and jukung departure routes converge at the same observation point, increasing ecological risks. Institutional fragmentation and absence of integrated regulations exacerbate management inefficiencies. The study recommends establishing a cross-village coordination forum, implementing service-based tariff standards, applying zoning for departure points, enhancing local human resource capacity, and developing a location-based digital information system. These strategies are expected to promote equitable, sustainable, and environmentally responsible coastal tourism governance.

Abstract

The study aims to produce an accurate and up-to-date tourism destination map of Les Village that reflects the actual conditions in the field. The mapping process was carried out through field surveys, interviews with village officials and BUMDes tourism managers, as well as spatial analysis using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The data collected from observations and interviews include destination locations, access routes, and tourist accommodations. The results show that the previous map did not provide accurate information due to errors in its creation and did not display the distribution of accommodations in Les Village. The new tourism destination map identifies ten main destinations along with access routes and twelve accommodations, and can be independently updated by BUMDes. The study is expected to foster collaboration between the village government, academia, and local tourism stakeholders. With more comprehensive spatial information, the tourism destination map can serve as a foundation for sustainable and community-oriented tourism development planning.

Abstract

Geography learning in X-IPS class at SMAN 1 Sawan faces the problem of lack of visualisation of the impact of environmental damage due to limited media and classroom-based learning. Students' low awareness of environmental cleanliness is also an obstacle, indicated by the discovery of garbage in the classroom area. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness and influence of the application of EarthComm learning model assisted by Google Earth on the environmental care attitude of 10th grade students at SMAN 1 Sawan. This study used a pseudo-experimental research method with Pretest-Posttest Only Control Group Design. Hypothesis testing was conducted using descriptive analysis for model implementation, N-Gain Score for effectiveness data analysis and t-test for effect test. The results showed that the implementation of the EarthComm learning model assisted by Google Earth was included in the very good category with a score of ’83,33’ in geography learning, quite effective in increasing students' environmental care attitudes with a value of 65.95% in the experimental class compared to 17.8% in the control class, and had a significant effect on students' environmental care attitudes with a sig value of 0.000 <0.05.
