Abstract

Abstract-This research is motivated by the problems found in the early observation in class VIII-1 / Ibnu Thufail Islamic intergrated of Junior High School Fitrah Insani II related to the critical thinking ability of learners. Lack of courage of learners in answering and asking is a low critical thinking indicator in Social studies learning. Alternative problem solving chosen is the application of cooperative learning model TPS (Think-Pair-Share) type. The problem formulation in this research is "whether by applying the TPS learning model can improve the critical thinking ability of learners?". The research method used is Classroom Action Research with research design is model Kemmis and Mc Taggart covering several stages there are, planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, documentation, and field notes. The critical thinking indicator developed in the study refers to the ability to provide simple explanations, build basic skills, make inferences, make further explanations, and organize strategies and techniques. The results concluded that first, the research planning is well designed by the teacher through the development of the model in accordance with the instrument made. Second, the implementation of the action is done in three cycles by distributing worksheets and video to learners for pair discussions. Third, learners experience improvement of critical thinking ability in every cycle. Fourth, the constraints that occur are time allocation, learners' understanding of learning steps, and classroom management. These constraints are resolved by improvements in each cycle. This research shows that cooperative learning model of TPS type can improve the critical thinking ability of students in social studies learning. Keywords: Critical Thinking, Cooperative Learning, TPS (Think-Pair-Share), Social Studies Learning

Abstract

Optik Halim Purwakarta is a company engaged in optical sales, providing various kinds of glasses, frames, contact lenses, lens cleaning fluids and other optical accessories. Currently Optik Halim Purwakarta has difficulty receiving orders from outside the region. That's why Optik Halim Purwakarta plans to develop customer applications in the future. The purpose of this research is to design the user interface and user experience for the optical glass application. Human Centered Design (HCD) is a system design and development approach that aims to make systems more usable through the application of human or ergonomic knowledge and factors. The Human Centered Design (HCD) method consists of five steps: understanding and determining the context of use, determining user needs, generating design solutions, and evaluating design solutions. Based on the design and testing methods used by researchers to conduct this research. From the results of this study, the Halim Optik Purwakarta application was developed with an average System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 82.5, where the score is included in category B and can be accepted by users.

Abstract

C lay has properties that are not profitable for construction. This is because the bearing capacityof the soil or low CBR have low value. Therefore we need a stabilizing agent that can reduce soilproperties which are unprofitable, usually accompanied by binding to each soil grain with theother .The research was done by testing on clay samples without a mixture and the clay that is mixedwith zeolite with a variation of 6%, 8%, 10%, 12% and 14%. Tests were performed using standardand modified compaction which previously done curing for 14 days. After compaction test, thesamples were soaked for 4 days and then followed by mechanical testing which is CBR test thataimed to determine the bearing capacity value of the soil after the sample was mixed by zeolites.Based on the results of laboratory research, the highest value obtained on the sample CBR claywith a mixture of 14% zeolite with the use of modified compaction with 14 days of curingand 4days of soaking in the amount of 2.78%. This is because the effect of zeolite which can bind clayparticles. So, the more a mixture of zeolite then bearing capacity of the soil also increasing. However, the value of CBR in this research can not be used as subgrade in road constructionbecause of its CBR value ≤ 6%.Keywords: CBR, Soil Clay, Zeolite
