Abstract

Inappropriate parenting can trigger emotional problems that lead to negative behavior, one of that is aggressiveness. This study aimed to analyze the effect of family adjustment, parenting, and violence in parenting on aggressiveness in among elementary school-age children. This study used a cross-sectional study design. Samples of the research were 99 families who had elementary school children and mother involved as child respondents. The study was conducted in West Bogor Subdistrict, Bogor City. The participants were choose by random cluster sampling in two selected public schools. The analysis used descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test and path analysis (path analysis). The results found that family adjustment (72,29) and parenting (63,86) had not been done optimally yet. Parenting violence was also still found in the study (14,22). Aggressiveness has begun to appear in elementary school-age children (26,44). The study found no differences in family adjustment, parenting, violence in parenting and aggressiveness in boys and girls. Meanwhile, based on variable dimensions, there are differences in cooperation in parenting, neglect parenting, and physical aggressiveness between boys and girls. The results of the analysis show that gender influenced the aggressiveness. The family adjustment had an indirect effect on aggressiveness, through parenting. Parenting has a direct negative effect on aggressiveness. Conversely, negative parenting had a direct positive effect on aggressiveness.

Abstract

Changes in people's lifestyles increase the demand for health services. From a business point of view, competition is now getting tougher, so every hospital must work hard to survive in the health service industry through efforts to increase customer satisfaction with available services. This study used the Importance Performance Analysis and Customer Satisfaction Index methods to measure customer satisfaction at XYZ Mental Hospital Bogor with a sample of 400 respondents. Data collection was carried out through interviews with the help of questionnaires and open questions about complaints. Service quality is measured by the SERVQUAL method, which consists of five dimensions: physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The results show that four service attributes must be improved because they have low performance but are considered important to customers. In addition, there are four other attributes in quadrant three and the four attributes with the lowest CSI scores, so it is also important to make improvements. The result shows that the CSI value of XYZ Mental Hospital is 81.86, which means that the service is in a good category. However, this value has not reached the value targeted by the hospital.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that is still a serious challenge in Indonesia, including in Bogor Regency, with a prevalence that exceeds the threshold set by WHO. Inappropriate eating patterns, including a lack of understanding of nutrition and responsive feeding, are one of the main causes of stunting. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres regarding eating patterns that support stunting prevention and optimal child growth. The activity was carried out in Cibatok I and II Villages, Cibungbulang District, Bogor Regency. The methods used included interactive lectures, discussions, and simulations that focused on the principles of balanced nutrition, responsive feeding, and communication and emotional practices in feeding. Cadres also showed enthusiasm and readiness to become education agents in their communities. Educating about eating patterns through Posyandu cadres is a strategic and effective approach in supporting stunting prevention efforts at the community level.

Abstract

Family communication is a critical component in the process of Family Resource Management (FRM), which encompasses the stages of needs identification (input), planning and decision-making (process), and implementation and evaluation (output). This study aims to systematically review scholarly literature that examines the role of communication in each stage of FRM. A systematic literature review method was employed, following the PRISMA protocol, with article searches conducted via Google Scholar for publications from 2016 to 2025. A total of 17 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings reveal that open, empathetic, and participatory communication supports collective decision-making, conflict management, value formation, and overall family well-being. Communication also plays a significant role in the effective management of family human, financial, and emotional resources. This review underscores the importance of integrating communication into every stage of FRM and highlights the need for communication-based interventions to strengthen family resilience and well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between family communication and adolescent consumptive behavior through a systematic literature review. The phenomenon of consumptive behavior among adolescents is increasingly evident, driven by digital technology and globalization, which influence lifestyle and social values. Adolescence is a critical stage where identity formation, social acceptance needs, and mass media exposure significantly shape consumption patterns. Consumptive behavior among adolescents is characterized by impulsive buying, brand dependence, overspending, and a lifestyle centered on self-image. Family communication plays a vital role in shaping adolescents' consumption values and behaviors. Effective communication, marked by openness, emotional warmth, reflective discussion, and value consistency, can mitigate excessive consumptive behavior. Conversely, instructional or coercive communication often leads to adolescent resistance and compensatory consumptive behaviors. Contextual factors such as family socio-economic status, parental education, cultural values, emotional relationships, and social media exposure also influence the effectiveness of family communication. This study concludes that high-quality family communication can foster adolescents' critical and responsible consumption literacy. Practical implications highlight the need for education targeting parents, schools, and policymakers to enhance family communication skills in supporting healthy adolescent consumption behavior

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship of parent-adolescent communication, self-esteem, and delinquency of juvenile prisoners. The study was conducted at the juvenile prison in Bandung and involved 63 boys with age 15-18 years old; who were selected using simple random sampling. Juvenile delinquency was measured using the Adoption Self Report Delinquency Scale (ASRDS) questionnaire by Carroll et al. (1996). The self-esteem instrument used a questionnaire adapted from Rosenberg (1965). The parent-adolescent communication instrument used the Parent-Adolescent Communication Scale questionnaire adapted from Barnes and Olson (1982). Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and Pearson correlation. Pearson correlation analysis found that there was a positive significant relationship between openness dimension of parent-adolescent communication with the self-esteem of juvenile prisoners. A significant negative relationship was found between problem dimension of parent-adolescent communication with the self-esteem of juvenile prisoners. Furthermore, the study also found a significant negative relationship between openness dimension of parent-adolescent communication and self-esteem with delinquency of juvenile prisoners. There was a significant negative relationship between self-esteem with delinquency of juvenile prisoners.
