Abstract

Facebook is not only used by teens or adult, but also children of primary school age, ranging from grade 4 (four) to grade 6 (six) or starting from the age of 8-12 years. This is an interesting fact because basically a requirement to have an account on Facebook is aged 17 years and over. So these children manipulate their data in order to have Facebook. The purpose of this study is to determine the children?s access to the facebook identify their activities in using Facebook, describe the shiftof social interaction (direct interaction or face to face ) into digital interaction and to assess the use ?of facebook as a forum for self-construction. Type of research is qualitative research. This research is conducted in the Elementary School (SDN) in the city of Bengkulu with purposive method where a public elementary school located in the suburbs or border; then it is set that SDN 71 Bengkulu City. Results show that children of school age have made use of facebook as a tool to communicate with other friends from various means at their disposal . In terms of social interaction and digitalinteractions, it can not be said that the child has fully entered the digital interaction.

Abstract

Kemudahan dalam memahami materi dakwah yang disampaikan dalam bahasa yang ringan dan tidak membuat merasa “digurui” melalui media sosial membuat generasi-Z seperti mahasiswa memilihnya sebagai media untuk belajar dan memotivasi diri dalam ke-Islaman. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan Instagram oleh mahasiswa di Kota Bengkulu khususnya mahasiswa Universitas Dehasen dalam kaitannya dengan belajar dan motivasi ke-Islaman. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Universitas Dehasen yang dijaring melalui teknik snowball untuk mencari informan yang mengikuti akun Instagram da’i/ustad dan akun yang bertemakan ke-Islaman. Setelah mendapatkan hasil yang sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian dan dilakukan reduksi data dan adanya data jenuh, maka informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 11 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tampilan audio visual yg berdurasi pendek, padat, dan “enak” didengar tidak hanya membuat informan tertarik, namun juga “mengena” di hati informan. Kemudain setelah mengakses akun Instagram yang mereka ikuti secara rutin, informan mengaku mengalami perubahan seperti menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik dan sabar, bisa bersikap lebih dewasa dalam mengambil keputusan dan sikap, dan mengubah pola pikir mengenai dunia.

Abstract

Generally, the message from television is not separated for the television viewers; it means that anyone can watch television programs. Children without any parental supervision can have a habit of consuming media where those television programs are not addressed to their age. This study aims to assess media habits or television viewing habits and media consumption patterns conducted by early childhood in the city of Bengkulu; the other goal is to decipher the meaning of the impressions of early childhood about the for children television shows as well as the shows for adults. This study is a qualitative study and conducted in early childhood or kindergarten students at TK Intan Insani dan PAUD Haqiqi in the city of Bengkulu. The main method of data collection is in-depth interviews and observation. Results reveal that media habits or television viewing habits and media consumption patterns conducted by early childhood in the city of Bengkulu is very high. The watching time for children is mostly 3 to 5 hours per a day. The term dating, falling in love, lover is a term that is understood through songs and sinetron or adult movies they watch. The interpretation of the child regarding special program in this study is illustrated naturally.

Abstract

Women at rural area should be empowered in order to help family income. In some cases, they have a productive activity to help in increasing the family income; such as having a small home industry, etc. Therefore, in supporting their economic activity, media or Information Communication  Technology  (ICT) is not significantly  becoming  a point to raise the family income or to improve the quality of society development. While in some countries, ICT is part of poverty reduction program, could help in increasing the family economy and also is used by women for their productive activities. Thus, it is also needed the women’s role, while so far, it is not  calculated  in. This  paper  is to  explore  about  how  media  ICT  could  be part  of women empowerment in helping to improve their family income especially for rural area. The result shown that in some developing countries, ICT has benefit for women in improving the family income.

Abstract

The internet users in Indonesia show a significant numbers and they use it mostly for social media. This research is conducted to explore the trend of social media usage during the pandemic in Indonesia. It is in order to have a decription in how internet used during the pandemic. The research method is done by study literature from many kinds of articles, scholarly journals, books, manuscripts and others sources related to the theme of this article. The result is social media is used by housewive to generate their family income during the pandemic. Interestingly, during the pandemic, the housewive become actively used social media to do online business such as food and beverage and other things.

Abstract

Children have wide access to media in this millennial century. It can be said that most of children are connected to the media, especially the internet. Television is no longer the main medium used by children to get entertainment, but has been replaced by the internet. The overload information that children receive should be accompanied by good information that they can filter. Healthy internet for children is a guide that should be used as a reference for parents in facilitating their children to surf the internet. This is intended so that children can filter information that is really needed for them.

Abstract

Language is an activity that absolutely must be done in communication.Gender differences affect the language used in communication.Men and women show different languages when communicating in all fields.This is interesting to discuss because gender affects the way or style of language used by men and women.Likewise, the culture that creates gender stereotypes in communication. This article discusses the language differences between men and women in communicating with the aim of describing gender differences in language and cultural stereotypes.

Abstract

As Indonesian government endorse of growing creative economy, it also relates to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which is growing rapidly in Indonesia. The ICT is used by many people in rural area, especially at coastal area. At coastal area most women work for helping the family income. They produce the fish production. Thus it leads to their creativity in producing new product from fish. This creativity should be enforce by utilizing the ICT in particular for enlarging the market. The case from women in Indramayu District specifically in Indramayu sub-district, a coastal area, becomes locus for this research. This paper examines how women at coastal area produce the fish production becoming a creative economy and how they use the internet? The qualitative research is applied in this research. The result show that most women do not really use the internet, only a few of them utilize the internet to market their product by using social media. In conclusion, ICT cannot be applied maximally in Indramayu except the women are obtaining the media literacy.

Abstract

The child marriage rate is quite high above 40% during the 2019 period in Bogor Regency. This community service aims to educate school-age children to have an awareness that education is important for their future. Children should be given sufficient knowledge about the impact of child marriage which does not guarantee a better future for them. The impact of child marriage is the threat to reproductive health due to giving birth at a young age. The method of implementing the service is face-to-face, giving directions, counseling and simulations to school-age children who are vulnerable to child marriage and asking questions and exploring their opinions about child marriage and education so that it is expected that self-awareness will arise on the importance of education and delaying marriage at a young age. The results of this service activity show that school-age children are able to understand the material presented by the speaker and know that education is important for their future. This can be seen from the questions submitted by the participants and the presence of community leaders who support the importance of education. Abstract

In addressing the problem of poverty, the media also has a very important role. Inaddition, with media, especially the internet, we can find out information about theweather and the sea and fishing information globally accessible. Further explained thatthe resources of this example is FIGIS (fisheries global information system) that provides arange of statistical information such as fisheries, fish distribution maps by species, issueand topic of the actual fisheries, aquaculture, marine fisheries, and fishing technology. Thedata is available anytime and anywhere needed. Based on the background is exactly theservice activities based on this urgent research to be conducted. The activity goal is toprovide knowledge for women and families of fishermen on the media, especially theInternet and equip the women and families of fishermen to learn new media like theinternet. The target audience of the utilization of the internet is for girls and coastal fishingfamilies who live in the city of Bengkulu Malabero coastal areas totaling 10 people whohave a product that can be sold in the market. The activities are lectures, discussions andsimulations use the internet with the ultimate goal the establishment of a blog that can beused to sell their products.Keywords: Internet, women, economics, blogs, information
