Abstract

This study aims to identify the characteristics of Mazaraat consumers, analyze the influence of customer perceived value (CPV), brand awareness, consumer knowledge, and marketing mix on Mazaraat cheese consumer purchasing decisions, and develop appropriate managerial implications to improve Mazaraat consumer purchasing decisions. The study used 158 local Mazaraat consumers as respondents surveyed using a questionnaire and the data obtained were processed using SEM-PLS. The results showed that customer perceived value, brand awareness, and product variables had a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions. Meanwhile, the variables of consumer knowledge, promotion, price, and location did not have a significant influence on purchasing decisions. Overall, the product has the most significant direct and indirect influences on purchasing decisions for Mazaraat cheese. Abstract

Abstract

Agricultural areas in Western Bandung Regency continue to face the threat due to land area reduction. Development of rural community-based agritourism is expected to benefit not only for rural communities but also urban communities to better understand, providing appreciation, as well as being a means of agriculture education. The factors that determine the development of agritourism, integrated farming systems, local institutional patterns, and the existing program would give a formulation of community-based agritourism development model that is oriented to added value and sustainability of agricultural systems. Assessment on sustainability of the communities in Cikahuripan and Cihideung villages in terms of social and spiritual aspects show good values towards sustainability while the ecological aspects requires corrective actions.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has introduced paddy-livestock integration into the farming community. However, the rate of adoption by farmers did not experience a significant increase. So the purpose of this study was to analyze the factors influencing  farmers' adoption level on technological innovation in the paddy-livestock integration system.  The data collection was conducted by Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to get qualitative data and surveys for quantitative data. FGDs were conducted in three locations: in the two villages of research with farmers groups, and in AAAT. The survey uses a questionnaire with a volume of about 120 people in two villages respectively were 60. Data were analyzed descriptively (sum, the average, and percentage) and tested with Spearman Rank correlation.  Processing data by software Exel and SPSS ver 16.  The research showed that the internal factors of farmers, the characteristics of innovation, and external support related to the phase (knowledge, interest, and adoption) of farmers' adoption of the technology innovation of paddy-livestock integration system in the form of fermented feed and organic fertilizer.Keywords:  adoption, innovation, integrated farming, livestock, paddy

Abstract

Positioning is required in every company to influence consumer perceptions and purchasing decisions. Biofertilizer is important to support organic agriculture so market competition in fertilizer industry was increasing. It is important for companies to develop positioning strategies continuously. This study was aim to analyze the position of biofertilizers based on product excellence, identifying attributes that affect consumers choosing biofertilizer, and recommends alternative positioning strategies of biotilizers. Samples consist of 120 respondents, drawn from population farmers in Bogor who know biofertilizer. Respondents were determined using purposive and simple random sampling. The survey was conducted by direct interview. Descriptive, Thurstone Case V, Correspondence, and Chi-Square analysis were used to analyze data. The study find that the EM-4 was the most known biofertilizers. It assessed as trustworthy product, reliable product, cheaper than others, easy to obtain, as well as spread advertising. While Sumber Subur assessed as a product that always want to used. Three main attributes that influence the selection of biofertilizers are quality, price, and content of product. Companies have to improve product quality in order to win market competition. Companies must provide clear information about the advantages and how to use the product on the product packaging. Companies need to approach consumers through farmers' groups, to do direct promotion such as demontration plots and free samples.Keyword: positioning, biofertilizer, thurstone case v, correspondence analysisABSTRAKPositioning perlu dilakukan setiap perusahaan, dengan tujuan membentuk persepsi konsumen yang berpengaruh terhadap keputusan pembelian. Pentingnya pupuk hayati dalam menunjang budidaya pertanian organik menyebabkan persaingan pada industri pupuk semakin meningkat. Sehingga menjadi penting bagi perusahaan untuk selalu mengembangkan strategi positioning Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis posisi pupuk hayati berdasarkan keunggulan produk, mengidentifikasi atribut yang yang dipentingkan konsumen memilih pupuk hayati, serta merekomendasikan alternatif strategi positioning pupuk hayati. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 120 responden, diambil dari populasi petani di Kabupaten Bogor yang mengetahui pupuk hayati dan minimal mengenal satu merek pupuk hayati. Responden ditentukan dengan metode purposive dan simple random sampling. Survei dilakukan dengan wawancara langsung. Analisis Deskriptif, Thurstone Case V, Korespondensi, serta Chi-Square digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa EM-4, pupuk hayati yang paling banyak diketahui, dinilai sebagai produk terpercaya, produk dapat diandalkan, harga murah, mudah diperoleh, serta iklan tersebar. Sedangkan Sumber Subur dinilai sebagai produk yang selalu ingin digunakan. Tiga atribut utama yang dipentingkan konsumen dalam pemilihan pupuk hayati antara lain kualitas, harga, serta kandungan produk. Perusahaan perlu meningkatkan kualitas produk agar dapat bersaing. Perusahaan sebaiknya memberikan informasi yang jelas mengenai keunggulan serta cara pengaplikasian produk kepada konsumen pada kemasan produk. Perusahaan perlu pendekatan konsumen melalui kelompok tani, untuk melakukan promosi langsung berupa demplot dan pemberian sampel gratis.Kata kunci: positioning, pupuk hayati, thurstone case v, analisis korespondensi

Abstract

Indonesian government released Fisheries Sharing Law (UU Bagi Hasil Perikanan No. 16/1964) to avoid income gap among fishermen. But local fisheries sharing system stilI applied in some areas. These facts supported the research to find the reasons of institutionalization failure of fisheries sharing law. Research gain indicated that local fisheries sharing system used the same way to calculated net product among fishing gears, but different way in shared net product between owner and tenant in each gear. Fisheries sharing law used the same way to calculated net product and the same way in shared net product between owner and tenant in every fishing gear. This law were not favourable especially by the owners of gillnet and trammel net because their income will be decreased if they used it. Both fisheries sharing systems still made income gap between owner and tenant in each fishing gear and economically not suitable because unequality between opportunity and gain. Based on this comparative study, it is important to applied alternative sharing system which gave equality in product shared and economically consequences.

Abstract

Fisheries product from Pelabuhan Ratu is distributed through several marketing institutions. The marketing institutions involved are fisherman, bakul pengumpul, bakul pengolah, bakul pengecer, wholesaler, retailer and institutional market. Areas of the merketing are Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi, Bogor, Bandung and Jakarta. The Retailer gets the marketing margin more than other institutions. The structure of marketing cost is different at each institution, however in general, the cost consist of TPI fee, market fee, transportation cost, water and ice cost, packing cost and labor cost. The average of the fisherman's share for the fish products that are marketed in Pelabuhan Ratu area is 68,65 %, and for outside areas is 59,96 %.

Abstract

One of the criteria in deciding the priority of a regional economic development is the level of linkage (back\&lard and forward linKage) of a given sector and the level of multiplier effect of income and employment. The objective of this study is to investigate the role of fishery subsektor in economic regional of West Java, the level of linkage with the other sectors an the level of income and employment multiplier effect.Data showed that the contribution o( fishery subsector to PORB of West Java is relatively small, namely 1,08% in 1988 and 1,17% in 1993. At tha sama period fishery subsector contributed 1,93% and than decreasing until 1,89% for available employment in West Java.The result of study with input-output (1-0) model showed that linkage of fishery subsector is relatively low, except inland fishery sector had backward linkage is relavely high. Inland fishery sector have the income multiplier effect is relatively high, Whereas marine fishery and salted-fish and dried-fish bussiness is low. Generally, fishery subsector have the employment muttiplier is relatively low. Regarding the potention of fishery is relatively big, whereas the level of its exploitation have not been optimal, so fishery subsector is important to be a priority in regional economic development in West Java. And so, in order that the level of linkage of fishery subsector is relatively high, it is important to grow fisheriesagroindustries in West Java.

Abstract

Self-reliance is an ability to choose various choices to achieve a better quality of life. The self-reliance can be grown by counselling, that is an education process to people behaviour. One of government program conducted counselling activity in its target attainment is Rural Income Generation Project (RIGP), or in Indonesia called Pembinaan Peningkatan Pendapatan Petani-Nelayan Kecila (P4K) project. This project aims to empower the small fishermen and farmers, including the fish farmer, in order to increase their ability to be free from poorness, develop their self-reliance and participation in decision making and rationally cultivation. The aim of the research are: 1) process of P4K project 2) counselling process to fish farmer 3) fisheries cultivation 4) fish farmer characteristic 5) the self-reliance level of fish farmer; and also 6) relation among fISh farmer characteristic with their autonomous level. Result of this research indicate that project in Muktisari Village started by the year 1979 and is still be executed for cooperation among Unit Penyuluh Pertanian(UPP), Bank Rakyat Indonesia ( BRI) and P4K participators. Target attainment of P4K project done through counselling and credit loan gift. Counselling process take place good enough with suitable enough frequency, method and items and also the competence extension agent. Fish and shrimp cultivation in Muktisari Village are still managed traditionally. Internal characteristics consist of age, formal education levels, sum of family member, counselling motivation, cultivating experience, cosmopolitan level, social status, counselling perception, cultivation income andsertification of ownershif. Eksternal characteristic consisted of cultivation facilities support. group dynamics, institute support, counselling performance and sum of loan. The fish farmer characteristic in Muktisar  Village are relativelly uniform. Independence level of fish farmer in this research location is at a medium level. there is a medium ability in chosen commodity type, accessing cultivation facilities and comprehend market, low ability in determine price and look for information. and have been had high ability in work along. fish cultivation technical and -credit payment. Internal characteristic that has signifficant effect to fish farmer independence level are counselling motivation. cultivating experience. counselling perception, earnings. ownership of fix resource, group dynamics. counselling performance and sum of loan.

Abstract

Migration is a strategy choosen by fishermen as a way out from their poverty: Many fishermen live in Muara Angke come from outside Jakarta. The objectives of the research are to identify characteristic of fisherman who migrate to Muara Angke and factors influence the fisherman to migrate to Muara Angke. The method use in this research is a case study and analyzed by descriptive and non parametric statistic. The research showed that push migration factor was decreasing of fish yield caused by over fishing which bring iI.,.,act to deaeasing as their income. And the pull migration factors were so many work opportunities, bustling town, and the many facilities could be accessed by them including fish marketing matter in destination area.
