Abstract

Pilihan kecepatan yang tidak sesuai sudah terbukti menjadi faktor utama penyebab kecelakaan lalu lintas, terutama pada segmen jalan berisiko seperti simpang tak bersinyal, jalan menurun dan lainnya. Sejumlah penelitian terdahulu telah melaporkan bahwa peluang kecelakaan pengendara sepeda motor di persimpangan prioritas dipengaruhi oleh tidak saja pilihan kecepatan saat memasuki area persimpangan dan kemampuan pengereman pengendara arus mayor namun juga pilihan celah penyeberangan kritis pengedara jalan minor. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menentukan peluang kecelakaan tipe tabrak belakang kendaraan yang berjalan beriringan di jalan mayor akibat pilihan celah penyeberangan kritis pengendara jalan minor. Untuk itu survei kecepatan dan jarak antar kendaraan serta celah penyeberangan kritis dilakukan dengan menggunakan kamera video. Selanjutnya, peluang kecelakaan tipe tabrak belakang disimulasikan berdasarkan perbedaan kemampuan pengereman pengendara sepeda motor yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian terkait terdahulu. Diketahui bahwa hampir tidak terdapat perbedaan kecepatan antara kendaraan yang berjalan beriringan sehingga dari hasil simulasi terindikasi kuat bahwa peluang tabrak belakang sangat ditentukan oleh perbedaan kemampuan pengereman pengendara. Hal itu berarti bahwa diperlukan upaya terstruktur dan sistematis untuk memperbaiki kemampuan pengereman pengemudi dan perilaku berkeselamatan di jalan.

Abstract

Sustainability is usually associated with energy source, ecological, soil and environmental aspects. Periodical road and bridge preservation is required to ensure the increasing of accessibility and mobility level, to increase regional economics’ growth, to minimize unplanned or unpredicted environmental consequences and to improve institutional arrangement capability as well. Road and bridge preservation is commonly managed based on its level of damage and constrained in budgeting. Poor public policy makes it worst. Therefore, the issue of strengthening the capacity of regional road and bridge management institutions is deemed important and urgent not only to reduce roads and bridges preservation cost but also to increase regional economics’ growth. Therefore, a proper road preservation type and priority should be determined based on technical, socio-economics, environment and public policy consideration. However, annual road and bridge functional condition data collection took high cost because it has been carried out by engineering consultant. The aim of this study is resolve it by providing a public participation portion in a road and bridge data base model. They are simply asked to send a real time condition of road s or bridge nearby to the local authority. The results strongly indicate that cost saved obtained from it could be focused to road and bridge preservation cost.

Abstract

So far, the system of the roof structure of residential and office buildings is dominated by conventional frame types. The use of a 3-joint arch structure system is only familiar to warehouse buildings and the like. The purpose of this study is to identify the feasibility of using type 3 joint arches on the roof of a residential building. The research scenario is focused on calculations using SNI 7973-2013, namely Design Specifications for Wooden Construction and Specific Static Structural Analysis Methods for 3 Joint Arch Structures based on the length of the truss span model, which is 9 m. The calculation result indicates that 1). The 3-joint curve type is worth using as it proves stable and safe 2). The distance between the truss of the roof truss affects the dimensions of the truss. The implication is that the construction of the roof of a residential house can use a 3-joint arch structure system while the basic material for modeling uses Code E20 wood material with Quality B, depending on the length of the span and the slope of the roof.

Abstract

Result of field observation shown that the tendency of riders to exceed speed limit also occurred at downgrade road segments, whereas previous study had reported that even on a flat road only riders with braking ability of 6 m/s2 can be avoided from crash due to the presence of unexpected object suddenly appears at 20 m ahead when traveling at around 60 km/h. This might be triggered by lack of information about pavement, geometrical and traffic condition surrounding. The aim of this study is to identify the accident risk at downgrade road segments due to inappropriate speed choice and/or pavement condition. Accident probability was assessed using the safety factor model, i.e., the ratio of available to minimum stopping sight distances. The minimum stopping sight distance was modified from the AASHTO stopping sight distance model, whilst the available stopping sight distance was determined using the average critical gap acceptance of 35 m obtained from field measurement. From the result of simulation, it was found that only riders with a braking ability of greater than 6.57 m/s2 could avoid crash and/or fatal accident safely. Besides, if the difference in braking ability was around 2 m/s2 then it is required a minimum safety distance of 15.1 m between the following motorcyclists. This strongly indicate that a workable road pavement design should be developed based on appropriate speed limit and/or geometrical condition

Abstract

If the capacity of the parking zone on buildings with great trip attractiveness rates is inadequate, it usually triggers on-street parking activity and its unintended derived impacts. Unfortunately, although this unintended situation may decrease traffic and road environmental quality, a similar situation always occurs. The initial field observation's result indicates that a change in building utilization may have influenced it. So, this study aims to assess the effect of parking accumulation rates due to a change in building utilization on the parking index and its impacts on road performance, including traffic accident risk. The existing parking index is influenced by parking accumulation and capacity, while the planning parking index is determined by comparing the parking accumulation and standardized parking space. In addition, the effect of on-street and road performance was assessed using results from similar previous studies. It was found that a change in building function significantly impacts the existing parking index value. It could not accommodate the increased trip rate, resulting in on-street parking activity. It influences a decrease in road capacity, travel speed, air pollutants, and sight distance (increasing accident risk level). This indicates that an institutional strengthening capability represented in an appropriate zoning regulation, which describes the type, number, and scale of activities allowed to be built in a particular corridor, is a compulsory requirement. Consequently, the ladder of urban land use planning should be re-reviewed. Implementing this new concept should be considered, especially in an urban fast-growth corridor.

Abstract

Kupang City is an area in Indonesia which has a relatively low number of rainy days. This causes the supply of clean water or drinking water in Kupang City to decrease. The high infiltration rate not only increases the amount of water stored in the soil, but also reduces flooding and erosion caused by run off. This study aims to model the relationship between infiltration and discharge capability for each type of samples land by using linear regression method. For this reason, a water absorption test was conducted on the built up area based on the infiltration rate. The results of experiments and calculations using linear regression shown that area often received heavy load such as vehichles had lower infiltration rate leading to slow inundation height decrease. While areas rarely received heavy load had higher infiltration rate. Even though the difference is only around 2-3 cm / 5 minutes, it indicates that the availability of open areas is still needed to support the implementation of the zero run-off model in urban built areas

Abstract

Kinerja bagian jalan selalu dinilai berdasarkan rasio volume lalu lintas terhadap kapasitas jalan sehingga kontekstualitas nilai volume lalu lintas menjadi sangat penting. Karena karakteristik kendaraan dan jalan beragam maka ekivalesi mobil penumpang (EMP) digunakan sebagai nilai penyetara volume lalu lintas. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh perbedaan klasifikasi fungsional jalan terhadap nilai EMP sepeda motor pada simpang tak bersinyal dan implikasinya terhadap penilaian kinerja simpang. Selama ini MKJI97 menentukan nilai EMP sepeda motor bersifat seragam yaitu 0,5 padahal terdapat perbedaan kecepatan antara kendaraan ringan dan sepeda motor akibat perbedaan lebar lengan simpang. Itulah mengapa dalam penelitian ini evaluasi nilai EMP dilakukan dengan Metode Kecepatan. Terbukti bahwa perbedaan klasifikasi fungsi jalan berdampak pada perbedaan kecepatan sehingga EMP sepeda motor yang didapat berkisar antara 0,42 0,57 (min 0,24; max 0,74). Untuk simpang yang merupakan pertemuan antara ruas jalan dengan klasifikasi fungsi yang sama, nilainya relaif konstan yaitu 0,42-0,48 (rerata 0,45). Implikasinya adalah penggunaan niai EMP sepeda motor sebesar 0,5 di simpang jalan tak bersinyal hanya boleh dilakukan apabila klasifikasi fungsi jalan yang bertemu di simpang tersebut adalah sama, sedangkan untuk tipe simpang tak bersinyal lainnya perhitungan volume lalu lintas agar didasarkan pada nilai EMP hasil survai
