Abstract

The multidimensional crisis that has been rife recently has become a complex problem that has impacted the decline in the character of society, especially among students. Seeing this urgency, the government continues striving to improve Indonesian education quality through the independent learning policy. In general, the focus of the teaching campus program is in the form of assisting the implementation of learning in schools which includes increasing students' literacy and numeracy, assisting school administration management, and introducing technology adaptations for educators and students. This research aims to determine how character education is implemented in the 4th batch Teaching Campus program at SDN 1 Bringin. The research method used is a qualitative type of field research (field research) through a case study approach. The data collection technique used is data triangulation, including; interview, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of character education in the Teaching Campus program batch 4 at SDN 1 Bringin was based on the six pillars of the Pancasila student profile. The form of program implemented is in the form of 5S habituation, the habituation of asmaul husna, the habit of singing national and regional songs, cooperation in cleaning the environment, the habit of being independent, critical thinking, making wall magazines, as well as interesting and varied learning. Based on the program that has been implemented, it can be seen that there has been an increase in the character values ​​of students, as evidenced by increasing religious values, cooperation, courtesy, creativity, independence, and students' thinking skills in learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis service activity aims to increase the literacy of the Kedungmalang Village community through STEAM-based reading park innovation. Partners for this PKM activity are Karang Taruna and IPNU IPPNU Kedungmalang Village. This PKM implementation method includes several stages, namely: socialization stage, training stage, mentoring stage, and evaluation (sustainability) stage. The results of this community partnership empowerment activity show that partners understand the implementation of the STEAM-based reading park program. At the socialization stage, partners actively express opinions and share related to literacy and STEAM. At the education and training stage, partners are given insight into how to implement a STEAM-based reading garden program. Next, the partner assistance stage was carried out in the form of practice in creating a reading garden with the STEAM concept. The evaluation stage is carried out by distributing questionnaires using Google Form to see the success of partners. This PKM provides benefits for partners in increasing the numeracy literacy of the Kedungmalang Village community.Keywords: Empowerment; Reading Park; STEAM; Smart Village.ABSTRAKKegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi masyarakat Desa Kedungmalang melalui inovasi taman baca berbasis STEAM. Mitra kegiatan PKM ini adalah Karang Taruna dan IPNU IPPNU Desa Kedungmalang. Metode pelaksanakan PKM ini meliputi beberapa tahap yaitu: tahap sosialisasi, tahap pelatihan, tahap pendampingan, dan tahap evaluasi (keberlanjutan). Hasil kegiatan pemberdayaan kemitraan masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa mitra memahami implementasi program taman baca berbasis STEAM. Pada tahap sosialisasi mitra aktif berpendapat dan sharing terkait  literasi dan STEAM. Pada tahap edukasi dan pelatihan mitra diberikan wawasan tentang cara mengimplementasikan program taman baca berbasis STEAM. Selanjutnya dilakukan tahap pendampingan mitra berupa praktik membuat taman baca dengan konsep STEAM. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner menggunakan google form guna melihat keberhasilan mitra. PKM ini memberikan manfaat bagi mitra dalam meningkatkan literasi numerasi masyarakat Desa Kedungmalang Kata Kunci: Pemberdayaan; Taman Baca; STEAM; Smart Village.
