Abstract

Cancer is a disease that can threaten a person's life which can occur in every cancer sufferer, apart from that cancer can also cause psychological problems such as low efficacy of patient self-care which will have an impact on treatment compliance in cancer patients.Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the MBCT intervention on whether it could increase self-care efficacy in cancer patients undergoing cancer treatment. Method: The method used in this research is an experiment with a pretest-posttest design with control group design. The research subjects were 20 people who were divided into experimental and control groups with inclusive. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. Results: The results showed an increase in self-care efficacy after administering the mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) intervention with a self-care efficacy value of Z = -2.660 and p = 0.008. Conclusions: The research results show that mindfulness based cognitive behavior therapy (MBCT) can increase patient confidence in carrying out treatment regularly. Cancer patients who Applying MBCT in everyday life they can also feel the effects such as tense muscles becoming more comfortable, better conscious breathing begins to feel the impact on the subject's calmness, and increased ability to detect the body. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) changes the behavior of each participant to be able to accept themselves in any situation, more easily adapt to changes that occur in their physical and life and establish social relationships with other people.

Abstract

Gout is a disease caused by the accumulation of uric acid crystals in the body. In the elderly, cells decline due to the aging process which can cause various diseases, one of which is an increase in uric acid levels (hyperuricemia). Elderly people who suffer from gout experience metabolic imbalances in the body. This disorder causes the formation of monosodium urate crystals which cause inflammation and pain. Exercise, one of which is tera exercise, is a non-pharmacological therapy that aims to reduce pain. Objective: This research is to determine the effect of tera exercise on reducing the level of gout pain in the elderly. Method: This type of research is experimental research with design quasy experiment (nonequivalent control group design). The population in this study were elderly people who attended posbindu in Karanganom. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a total sample of 26 people. The data in this study was collected using a research instrument in the form of a NRS (Numeric Rating Scale) questionnaire pain scale assessment sheet. The data obtained were analyzed using a non-parametric test with the Wilcoxon test to compare the same subjects before and after being given the intervention. Results: The results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test showed that the value was p (0.001) <α (0.005) where the p-value was smaller than the alpha value and Ha was accepted. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it was concluded that there was an effect of applying tera exercise in reducing the level of gout pain in the elderly at Posbindu Karanganom.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of green practices into nursing protocols as a means of reducing the environmental impact of hospital care. Hospitals significantly contribute to global carbon emissions, and nursing practices are integral to healthcare operations, yet they often lack sustainability considerations. The aim of this research was to develop and implement a set of green-practice guidelines tailored for nursing staff to minimize carbon emissions and improve operational efficiency. Through collaboration with environmental experts, nursing staff, and hospital management, new guidelines were established focusing on waste reduction, energy-efficient practices, and sustainable procurement. A waste-audit assessment was conducted to analyze current waste management practices, while a pilot implementation was carried out in selected hospital wards. The results revealed an 18% reduction in carbon emissions following the integration of these green practices into daily nursing activities. Key contributors to this reduction included waste segregation, the use of reusable medical supplies, and energy conservation measures such as optimizing lighting and HVAC systems. However, challenges such as resistance to change, resource limitations, and the need for specialized training were identified during the pilot phase. Despite these barriers, the research highlights the significant potential for nurses to lead sustainability efforts in healthcare settings. The findings indicate that integrating green practices into nursing protocols can provide environmental, operational, and economic benefits, ultimately contributing to more sustainable healthcare systems. Future research should refine these protocols, explore their broader application, and assess long-term outcomes across various healthcare settings
