Abstract. Pelawan leaves (Tristaniopsis merguensis Griff.) are known potential to have cytotoxic activity because they contain a class of phenolic compounds such as flavonoids and tannins. This study aims to determine the preliminary characteristics of pelawan leaves, determine the LC50 value using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method so that it can know whether the ethanol extract and pelawan leaf fraction have cytotoxic activity and can determine which sample has the highest. The effect of pelawan leaf extract and fraction on Artemia franciscana Kellogg. larvae, was analyzed using Probit Analysis. The results showed that the characteristics of pelawan leaves (Tristaniopsis merguensis Griff.) fulfilled the standard parameter requirements and were detected to contain alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenolics, tannins and saponins. The sample has cytotoxic activity as evidenced by an LC50 value of less than 1000 ppm. The LC50 value of the ethanol extract was 85.5 ppm, the N-hexane fraction was 151.9 ppm, the ethyl acetate fraction was 112 ppm and the water fraction was 95.2 ppm. It was concluded that the samples that had the highest cytotoxic activity were the ethanol extract and water fraction of Pelawan leaves in the medium toxic category, while the N-hexane fraction and ethyl acetate fraction were in the low toxic category. Daun Pelawan (Tristaniopsis merguensis Griff.) diketahui berpotensial memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik karena mengandung golongan senyawa fenolik seperti flavonoid dan tannin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pendahuluan pada daun pelawan, menentukan nilai LC50 menggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) sehingga dapat mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol dan fraksi daun pelawan ini memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik dan dapat menentukan sampel yang memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik yang paling tinggi. Pengaruh ekstrak dan fraksi daun pelawan terhadap larva Artemia franciscana Kellogg., dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Probit. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik daun pelawan (Tristaniopsis merguensis Griff.) memenuhi persyaratan parameter standar serta terdeteksi mengandung golongan senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, polifenolat, tannin dan saponin. Sampel memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik dibuktikan dengan nilai LC50 yang kurang dari 1000 ppm. Nilai LC50 ekstrak etanol sebesar 85,5 ppm, fraksi N-heksan sebesar 151,9 ppm, fraksi etil asetat sebesar 112 ppm dan fraksi air sebesar 95,2 ppm. Disimpulkan bahwa Sampel yang memiliki aktivitas sitotoksik yang paling tinggi adalah ekstrak etanol dan fraksi air daun pelawan dengan kategori medium toksik, sedangkan fraksi N-heksan dan fraksi etil asetat berada di kategori low toksik. Abstract. Pain, as a sensory perception, serves as an indicator of tissue damage, compromised nervous system functionality, or inflammation within the body. The objectives of this research encompassed the evaluation of analgesic activity exhibited by the ethanol extract derived from winged bean and the identification of the optimal dosage of the extract demonstrating analgesic properties in male mice. To achieve these goals, the experimental procedures involved the application of the writhing test. In this procedure, the writhing test was conducted to evaluate the peripheral analgesic activity. For this test, the mice were induced with 1% acetic acid (i.p), and the observed parameters encompassed the quantification of stretching behavior. The study comprised 6 (n=4) experimental groups: Group I served as the negative control and received 1% CMC Na. Group II acted as the positive control and was administered CMC Na along with the pain-inducing agent. Group III served as the comparison group, and the mice were administered paracetamol. Groups IV, V, and VI (Test doses 1,2, and 3) were given winged bean extract at doses of 250 mg/kg BB, 500 mg/kg BB, and 1000 mg/kg BB, respectively. The results unequivocally demonstrated the analgesic activity of the ethanol extract derived from winged bean fruit across all administered doses: 250 mg/kg BB, 500 mg/kg BB, and l000 mg/kg BB. Abstrak. Nyeri diartikan sebagai sensasi yang dirasakan untuk mengindikasikan bahwa sedang terjadinya kerusakan jaringan, tidak berfungsinya sistem saraf atau terjadinya inflamasi pada tubuh. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas analgesik dari ekstrak etanol buah kecipir dan mengetahui dosis terbaik dari ekstrak etanol buah kecipir yang mempunyai aktivitas analgesik pada mencit jantan. Pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode writhing test, metode writhing test untuk menguji aktivitas analgesik perifer, mencit diinduksi asam asetat 1% (i.p) dengan parameter yang diamati berupa jumlah geliat, pengujian terdiri dari 6 (n=4) kelompok yaitu kelompok I (kontrol negatif) diberi CMC Na 1%, kelompok II (kontrol positif) diberi CMC Na dan induksi, kelompok III (pembanding) diberi parasetamol, kelompok IV, V dan VI (Dosis uji 1,2 dan 3) diberi ekstrak buah kecipir dengan dosis 250 mg/kg BB, 500 mg/kg BB dan 1000 mg/kg BB. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol buah kecipir memiliki aktivitas analgesik dengan dosis 250 mg/kg BB, 500 mg/kg BB dan 1000 mg/kg BB.

Abstrak. Askariasis merupakan infeksi yang disebabkan oleh cacing gelang dan sering terjadi di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia. Prevalensi STH (soil-transferred helminths) di seluruh dunia mencapai 1,5 miliar atau 24% dari seluruh populasi dunia serta negara tropis dan subtropis yang tersebar luas. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat dijadikan sebagai pengobatan alternatif infeksi cacing, yaitu daun rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antelmintik dari daun rambutan terhadap cacing gelang babi dewasa (Ascaris suum Goeze) dengan melihat onset paralisis dan kematian yang terjadi, dan menentukan konsentrasi terbaik yang berpotensi sebagai antelmintik antara infusa dan ekstrak etanol daun rambutan secara in-vitro. Sediaan uji menggunakan 3 konsentrasi yaitu 5%; 7,5%; dan 10% b/v dengan pembanding pirantel pamoat 0,3% b/v dan kontrol negatif NaCl 0,9%. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu bahwa infusa dan ekstrak etanol daun rambutan memiliki aktivitas sebagai antelmintik dengan persentase paralisis tertinggi adalah infusa konsentrasi 7,5% b/v pada menit ke-120 sebesar 50%, sedangkan pada infusa konsentrasi 10% b/v pada menit ke-105 sebesar 50% merupakan persentase kematian tertinggi. Kata kunci: Antelmintik, infusa, ekstrak, daun rambutan Abstract. Ascariasis is an infection caused by roundworms and often occurs in developing countries such as Indonesia. The prevalence of STH (soil-transferred helminths) worldwide reaches 1.5 billion or 24% of the world's population and is widespread in tropical and subtropical countries. One of the plants that can be used as an alternative treatment for worm infections is rambutan leaves (Nephelium lappaceum L.). This study aims to determine the anthelmintic effect of rambutan leaves on adult swine roundworms (Ascaris suum Goeze) by observing the onset of paralysis and death that occurs, and determine the best concentration that has the potential as an anthelmintic between in-vitro infusion and ethanol extract of rambutan leaves. The test preparations used 3 concentrations, namely 5%; 7.5%; and 10% b/v with comparison pirantel pamoat 0, 3% w/v and 0.9% NaCl negative control. The research results obtained were that the infusion and ethanol extract of rambutan leaves had activity as anthelmintics with the highest percentage of paralysis was the infusion of 7.5% w/v at the 120th minute of 50%, while the infusion of 10% w/v at the 120th minute 105th 50% is the highest percentage of deaths. Abstrak. Antelmintik merupakan suatu obat untuk membunuh serta mengeluarkan cacing dari tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antelmintik dari ekstrak etanol daun pare (Momordica charantia Linn.), daun pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) dan kombinasi keduanya terhadap cacing gelang babi dewasa dan telur cacing (Ascaris suum). Kelompok uji penelitian ini yaitu ekstrak etanol daun pare, ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi dengan konsentrasi 10%, 15%, 20% dan 25% serta kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun pare 25% dengan ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi 25%. Kelompok kontrol yaitu larutan Hank Salin dan Hank Salin – CMC Na. Kelompok pembanding yaitu pirantel pamoat 0,2% dan piperazin sitrat 15% untuk uji aktivitas pada cacing gelang babi dan albendazol untuk uji aktivitas pada telur cacing. Parameter pengamatan uji aktivitas antelmintik pada cacing gelang babi dewasa yaitu paralisis dan kematian pada cacing, sedangkan parameter pengamatan uji aktivitas antelmintik pada telur cacing yaitu jumlah telur fertil dan persen inhibisi. Hasil pengujian pada cacing dewasa dan telur cacing menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi ekstrak etanol daun pare 25% dengan ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi 25% memiliki aktivitas antelmintik paling kuat dengan tipe paralisis spastik pada cacing dewasa serta memiliki persen inhibisi 60% pada telur cacing. Abstract. Anthelmintic is a drug to kill and remove worms from the body. This study aims to determine the anthelmintic activity of ethanol extract of bitter melon leaves (Momordica charantia Linn.), fragrant pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) and their combination against adult pig roundworms and worm eggs (Ascaris suum). The test group of this study was bitter melon leaf ethanol extract, fragrant pandan leaf ethanol extract with concentrations of 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% and a combination of 25% bitter melon leaf ethanol extract with 25% fragrant pandan leaf ethanol extract. The control group was Hank Salin and Hank Salin – CMC Na solutions. The comparison group was pirantel pamoat 0.2% and piperazine citrate 15% for activity test on pork roundworm and albendazol for activity test on worm eggs. The observation parameters of anthelmintic activity test in adult pig roundworms are paralysis and worms deaths, while the observation parameters of anthelmintic activity test in worm eggs are the number of fertile eggs and inhibition percentage. The test results on adult worms and worm eggs showed that the combination of 25% bitter melon leaf ethanol extract with 25% fragrant pandan leaf ethanol extract had the strongest anthelmintic activity with the type of spastic paralysis in adult worms and had 60% percent inhibition in worm eggs.

Abstract. SARS-CoV-2 is a novel virus that causes Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Compared to the SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2 has similarities in the total length of the spike protein, which consists of 1273 amino acids. The aim of this research is to compare the similarities or differences in the gene sequences encoding the S protein of SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV, particularly in the RBD region, and to analyze the potential of pulmonary fibrosis in COVID-19 survivors based on the bioinformatics sequence alignment of the Spike protein gene sequences of SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV. The research methodology employed is a bioinformatics study, starting with the retrieval of the gene sequences encoding the S protein of SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database. The sequences of both viruses are aligned using the Clustal Omega to compare the gene sequence encoding the S protein of SARS-CoV-2 to the gene encoding S protein in SARS-CoV. The base sequences that was is the RBD region. The sequence alignment of the base sequences encoding the S protein reveals differences in the DNA sequence in the region surrounding the RBD, specifically at positions 319-541. These differences in the sequence alignment of the gene sequences encoding the S protein between SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV pose a risk for the occurrence of pulmonary fibrosis in COVID-19 survivors due to significant genetic variations between the two viruses. Abstrak. SARS-CoV-2 merupakan jenis virus baru penyebab penyakit Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). SARS-CoV-2 dibandingkan dengan SARS-CoV karena memiliki kemiripan dengan panjang total protein spike pada SARS-CoV-2 adalah 1273 asam amino. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan kesamaan atau perbedaan sekuen gen pengkode protein S SARS-CoV-2 dan SARS-CoV pada bagian RBD serta menganalisis potensi fibrosis paru pada penyintas infeksi COVID-19 berdasarkan pensejajaran sekuen gen protein Spike SARS-CoV-2 dan SARS-CoV secara bioinformatik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi bioinformatik, diawali dengan pencarian urutan gen pengkode protein S SARS-CoV-2 dan SARS-CoV dari laman National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Dilanjutkan dengan pensejajaran kedua virus tersebut menggunakan Clustal Omega untuk membandingkan urutan gen pengkode protein S SARS-CoV-2 dengan gen yang mengodekan protein S pada SARS-CoV. Urutan basa yang dianalisis adalah daerah RBD. Pensejajaran urutan basa pengkode protein S menunjukan adanya perbedaan urutan DNA pada daerah sekitar RBD yaitu pada posisi 319-541. Perbedaan hasil pensejajaran sekuen DNA protein S dari SARS-CoV-2 dan SARS-CoV tersebut memiliki indikasi efek yang berbeda pada penyintas infeksi COVID-19 karena adanya variasi genetik yang signifikan antara kedua virus tersebut.

Abstract. Worm infection is one of the health problems that is quite high in developing countries, one of which is in Indonesia. The prevalence of worms in Indonesia is generally still very high, especially among the less fortunate. The prevalence of intestinal worms varies between 2.5% - 62%. This study aims to determine the anthelmintic activity of daruju leaves (Acanthus montanus (Nees) T.Anderson.) against adult swine roundworms and helminth eggs (Ascaris suum). The test group for this study was the ethanol extract of daruju leaves with concentrations of 5%, 10% , 20%, and 40%. The control group was Hank Salin and Hank Salin – CMC Na solutions. The comparison group was pyranthel pamoate 0.2% and piperazine citrate 15% for the activity test on swine roundworms and albendazole for the activity test on worm eggs. The parameters for observing the anthelmintic activity test on adult pig roundworms were paralysis and death of the worms, while the parameters for observing the anthelmintic activity test on worm eggs were the number of fertile eggs and the percentage of inhibition. Test results on adult worms and worm eggs showed that the 40% ethanol extract of daruju leaves had the strongest anthelmintic activity with a type of spastic paralysis in adult worms and had a 15% inhibition percentage in worm eggs. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of daruju leaves has anthelmintic activity against adult worms. Abstrak. Infeksi cacing merupakan salah satu gangguan kesehatan yang cukup tinggi di negara berkembang salah satunya di Indonesia. Prevalensi cacingan di Indonesia pada umumnya masih sangat tinggi, terutama pada golongan penduduk yang kurang mampu. Prevalensi cacingan bervariasi antara 2,5% - 62%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antelmintik dari daun daruju (Acanthus montanus (Nees) T.Anderson.) terhadap cacing gelang babi dewasa dan telur cacing (Ascaris suum).Kelompok uji penelitian ini yaitu ekstrak etanaol daun daruju dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10%, 20%, dan 40%. Kelompok kontrol yaitu larutan Hank Salin dan Hank Salin – CMC Na. Abstract. Helminthiasis, predominantly caused by worm eggs entering the body through the digestive tract via soil transmission, continues to exhibit a high prevalence. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of a single anthelmintic, comprising the ethanol extract of carrot tubers and basil leaves, as well as their combination, against adult pig roundworms and their eggs. Additionally, the research aimed to identify the effective concentration of the ethanol extracts to induce anthelmintic effects and determine the LC50 value in the single-test setup. The experimental laboratory method was adopted for this research, divided into three distinct groups. The first group involved the ethanol extract test of carrot tubers and basil leaves with concentrations of 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. The second group constituted a combination of extracts at 25% concentration each, alongside a comparison group involving pirantel pamoate and piperazin citrate for adult worms, and albendazole for worm eggs. Finnaly, the control group received Hank Salin solution and CMC-Na. The result revealed significant anthelmintic activity, with the highest rates of paralysis and death observed in the combination of 25% basil leaf extract and 25% concentration of carrot tubers, achieving 70% and 50% paralysis, respectively, with a spastic paralysis type. In the single-test setup, the LC50 values produced for ethanol extract of basil leaves and carrot tubers were 27.859% and 29.693 %, respectively. Anthelmintic activity on worm eggs exhibited the greatest percentage of inhibition at 60% for the combination of extracts at a concentration of 25%. In conclusion, the combination test extracts demonstrated superior efficacy compared to the single-test extracts, showcasing promise for potential therapeutic applications in combating hetminthiasis. Penyakit kecacingan mayoritas disebabkan oleh masuknya parasit dengan berupa telur cacing ke dalam tubuh melalui saluran pencernaan karena adanya penularan melalui tanah dan masih menduduki prevalensi yang tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui efektifitas antelmintik tunggal pada ekstrak etanol umbi wortel dan daun kemangi serta kombinasinya terhadap cacing gelang babi dewasa dan telurnya, mengetahui konsentrasi efektif dari ekstrak etanol umbi wortel dan daun kemangi sehingga mempunyai efek antelmintik terhadap cacing gelang babi dewasa dan telurnya serta mengetahui nilai LC50 pada pengujian tunggal ekstrak etanol umbi wortel dan daun kemangi. Metode penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental laboratorium. Pengujian ini terbagi dalam 3 kelompok, yaitu kelompok uji ekstrak etanol umbi wortel dan daun kemangi dengan konsentrasi 10%, 15%, 20% dan 25% serta kombinasi ekstrak dengan konsentrasi masing-masing 25% dengan pembanding (pirantel pamoat dan piperazin sitrat untuk cacing dewasa, dan albendazole untuk telur cacing) serta kelompok kontrol (larutan Hank Salin dan CMC-Na). Hasil penelitian berupa aktivitas antelmintik dengan akumulasi paralisis dan kematian paling tinggi ditunjukkan oleh kombinasi ekstrak uji daun kemangi 25% dan umbi wortel konsentrasi 25% dengan persentase 70% dan 50% dengan tipe paralisis spastik serta nilai LC50 yang dihasilkan pada pengujian tunggal ekstrak etanol daun kemangi dan umbi wortel sebesar 27,859% dan 29,693%. Penelitian aktivitas antelmintik yang ditunjukkan telur cacing menunjukkan persentase inhibisi terbesar pada ekstrak uji kombinasi konsentrasi 25% sebesar 60%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak uji pada pengujian kombinasi lebih baik daripada pengujian tunggal.
