Abstract

Penggung Village is included in Pacitan Regency, an Agropolitan Area based on the Pacitan Regional Spatial Plan in 2005-2025. Development is carried out in the tourism sector with agriculture as the point. The main commodity is coffee plantations. The development is carried out with the Coffee Plantation Agrotourism concept. It pays attention to the sustainability of the natural environment and can increase the prosperity of the people of Penggung Village. This study aims to analyze the factors that become strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to developing coffee plantation agro-tourism and can determine the best strategy for achieving success in the development of coffee plantation agro-tourism in Penggung Village, Nawangan District, Pacitan Regency. The method used is a mixed (quantitative and qualitative) SWOT analysis by evaluating strengths and weaknesses as internal factors (IFE), while opportunities and threats as external factors (EFE). The results showed the development of Coffee Plantation Agrotourism in Penggung Village Pacitan Regency is still not optimal in the provision of tourism facilities and infrastructure, as the cultivation technology used is also not optimal. The strategy that can be used is diversification in the fourth quadrant, which gives rise to four strategies. This study suggests researching the quality of liberica coffee species, the leading commodities in Penggung Village, for the sustainability of Coffee Plantation Agrotourism in Penggung Village, Pacitan Regency. Abstract

Abstract Wonokerso Village is a rural area that has unique characteristics as an industrial area. This is supported by its strategic location, namely near the main route connecting Malang and Kepanjen, making it easier for investors to visit Wonokerso Village. Based on the survey results, the village needs a rest area master plan and rest area branding so that more people visit this area. Another supporting factor is the location of Wonokerso Village itself, which is a stopover area for people traveling either from the Malang area or outside the Malang area, especially the Blitar, Tulungagung areas, and so on. For this reason, there is a need to design a rest area master plan. The method for implementing this service activity includes several stages, namely (1) the preparation stage, (2) the implementation stage, and (3) the final stage. Several activities are carried out at each stage, following the needs and plans for completing this community service activity.

Abstract

Duckweed, a widely used natural fish feed, has also become more popular as the phytoremediation agent for wastewater, including one sourced from aquaculture. These two features indicate that duckweed can be utilized in a sustainable aquaculture system by treating and reclaiming nutrients from wastewater and then harvesting them for fish feed production. Hence, this study attempted to assess the approach of the two most known duckweed species, i.e., Lemna minor and Spirodela polyrhiza, in depleting NH4 and PO4 from synthetic controlled aquaculture wastewater as well as to understand their yield based on the N : P ratio. Cultivation in synthetic aquaculture wastewater media was carried out, followed by nutrient uptake and growth analysis. According to statistical analysis, both L. minor and S. polyrhiza could remove NH4 and PO4 with a relatively equal rate (p-val > 0.050). Nonetheless, both duckweed species absorb nitrogen more easily than phosphorous (p-val < 0.050). Considering the yield based on nutrient uptake, NH4 drove a more efficient yield for L. minor to S. polyrhiza at 16.70 g dry biomass/g NH4 and 14.14 g dry biomass/g NH4, respectively. Meanwhile, a higher yield was observed on S. polyrhiza than on L. minor regarding PO4 concentration, at 19.31 g dry biomass/g PO4 and 9.10 g dry biomass/g PO4, respectively. Therefore, a strategy to remove nutrients and produce biomass for fish feed can be formulated based on the N : P concentration ratio, where L. minor tends to produce biomass more rapidly in a higher N : P ratio, whereas S. polyrhiza works in the opposite.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a serious health problem in Indonesia with the Aedes aegypti mosquito as the main vector. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of sugar solution-based mosquito traps in reducing mosquito populations at SD Ummu Aiman. The traps were made using simple materials and then distributed to the school's mosquito-prone areas. Socialization and education were conducted for teachers through presentations, questions and answers, and hands-on practice of making the traps. Their effectiveness was evaluated through an online questionnaire. The results showed a significant reduction in the frequency of mosquito presence after trap installation, with an increase in respondents who no longer encountered mosquitoes from 5 percent to 25 percent. 85 percent of respondents considered the traps effective and safe, and the majority were willing to implement them in their area. The program successfully increased teachers' knowledge and engagement in mosquito control, despite facing constraints such as limited time, resources, and odor from the traps. Continuous support and regular evaluation are expected to increase the effectiveness and acceptance of this innovation. The sugar solution-based mosquito trap innovation is expected to be an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution for dengue vector control in schools.

Abstract

Pacitan Regency owns abundant natural resources, one of which is in the agricultural sector. In accordance with the RTRW of Pacitan Regency 2005-2025, there is a development plan for the Agropolitan Area in Bandar and Nawangan Sub-districts. This research aims to find out how the level of community participation in the development of the Agropolitan Area of Bandar Nawangan Subdistrict, Pacitan Regency. The descriptive quantitative approach was used to understand how community involvement in Agropolitan Area development planning. The level of community participation was measured using Arnstein's concept (A Ladder of Citizen Participation) and showed the level of community participation at the informing level, which is included in the tokenism classification. This study’s results recommended assistance to local leaders to have similar goals as the government as the means of increasing community participation. The village leaders have greater influence or control because of their proximity to the community. As a consequence, community participation in the development of the Agropolitan Area of Bandar Nawangan Sub-district, Pacitan Regency will be escalated.
