Abstract

Media sosial berkembang sangat pesat. Dalam kegiatan jurnalistik media sosial digunakan sebagai sumber berita media televisi, baik informasi maupun kontennya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mencari jawaban tentang bagaimana aturan dan tata cara menggunakan konten media sosial dalam program berita televisi. Penelitian juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana media televisi bisa mengimplementasikan perlindungan hak cipta terhadap konten media sosial yang digunakan dalam program beritanya. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, peneliti mengamati konten media sosial yang digunakan dua televisi berita, CNN Indonesia dan Metro TV. Peneliti kemudian menggali informasi lebih dalam dengan mewawancarai penanggung jawab program di CNN Indonesia dan Metro TV. Temuan penelitian ini menyimpulkan ada peraturan yang harus diikuti sebelum memproduksi program berita dari media sosial. Verifikasi, perizinan pemilik konten, dan pencantuman atribusi wajib dipenuhi media televisi ketika menggunakan media sosial sebagai sumber berita. Prinsip fair use bisa digunakan dengan batasan tertentu. Aturan-aturan ini membawa implikasi dan menjadi tantangan bagi para pemangku program berita televisi. Namun dengan pemahaman dan implementasi yang tepat diharapkan perlindungan hak cipta selalu terjaga. Pencipta karya terpenuhi hak moral dan hak ekonominya serta berita televisi juga terjaga standar kelayakannya.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how audiences interpret the narrative of the revival of national football built by Content Creator Bung Binder and Bung Ropan on the YouTube platform. This research uses a qualitative approach with Stuart Hall's encoding decoding model reception analysis method. This method is used as an analysis instrument to map the audience's meaning position, namely dominant-hegemonic, negotiation, and opposition positions. The results showed that the narrative of the revival of national football built by Bung Binder and Bung Ropan was accepted with various meanings by the audience. The majority of informants are in a negotiation position, where they accept the narrative of the revival of national football built by Bung Binder and Bung Ropan, but remain critical of opinions or views that do not match their personal judgment. Other research results show that content creators Bung Binder and Bung Ropan play an important role in building the narrative of the rise of national football through their content on the YouTube platform.

Abstract

This study examines how satirical discourse is constructed in television news and how Generation Z interprets it, focusing on Meet Nite Live, a MetroTV program that combines journalism with comedy. The program adopts a casual yet sharp style, embedding socio-political critique within humorous conversations to capture younger audiences. Using Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis and Stuart Hall’s Reception Analysis, this research examines the relationship between the satire production and audience interpretation. Data were collected through program text analysis and in-depth interviews with Generation Z respondents. Findings reveal that Meet Nite Live employs informal language and satire to present critique in a non-confrontational manner, making sensitive issues more accessible and relatable. All respondents occupy a negotiated position: they acknowledge the substance of the critique but critically assess its delivery and entertainment value. This confirms that Generation Z functions as an active and discerning audience. Moreover, platform and algorithmic gatekeeping significantly shape the program’s reach, as short-form content on YouTube Shorts and TikTok often serves as the entry point for young viewers. The study concludes that satire sustains media relevance, fosters critical literacy, and strengthens democratic engagement. Meet Nite Live exemplifies how mainstream media can adapt to digital logics while maintaining socio-political issues.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the audience perceives Bung Towel's content about Shin Tae-yong/STY and the Indonesian National Football Team on the YouTube channel Gocek BungTowel, from the perspective of the Uses and Gratifications theory. The appeal of the Gocek BungTowel content lies in the fact that its content is dominated by Bung Towel's criticisms of STY and Indonesian football. The research subjects are five informants who closely follow news about STY and Indonesian football,but come from diverse backgrounds. This diversity in background leads to varying perceptions of the Gocek BungTowel YouTube content. The study uses a qualitative approach with Miles and Huberman’s interactive model to analyze the data. The findings indicate that the Gocek BungTowel content successfully influences the audience in three main aspects of the Uses and Gratifications theory. The content provides a more critical perspective on Indonesian football. In addition, it raises a wide range of emotions from the audience, ranging from satisfaction to discomfort, and encourages the audience to engage more deeply in discussions about Indonesian football. This study also reveals that the main motives driving the audience to access Gocek BungTowel content are to gain new insights into Indonesian football and to seek entertainment.

Abstract

The conflict between Palestine and Israel, triggered by Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, is still ongoing. Although there were some mediation and negotiations, there was no agreement between Palestine and Israel. On July 31, 2024, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed allegedly by Israel. The death of Ismail Haniyeh had some impacts on Palestinian-Israeli peace efforts. This issue attracts media attention, including cnnindonesia.com and detik.com. This research aims to find out the framing of cnnindonesia.com and detik.com in reporting the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, especially after the death of Ismail Haniyeh. Although these two media belong to the same group, Transmedia, each media has a different news construction. Using the framing analysis theory of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicky, this research examines the news published on both media on July 31, 2024. By examining four structural dimensions, namely syntax, script, thematic, and rhetorical, the results of this study show that there are different framing in news construction. A firm pro-Palestinian stance is shown by cnnindonesia.com while detik.com tries to take a more neutral stance. More comprehensive coverage with a global perspective is also presented by cnnindonesia.com while detik.com presents balanced coverage from both the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
