Abstract

Mencuri Raden Saleh is a film that tells the story of the lives of young people. It starts with Piko (Iqbaal Ramadhan), an art student who is struggling to find money to support himself and trying to free his father who is in prison. Researchers use semantic meaning which is a part of linguistics that examines meaning or significance (Parera, 2004). The value of friendship is mutual understanding between individuals, understanding all things that are liked, hated, needed, as well as the elements that make up a feeling that requires each individual to trust each other, help each other, and work together to develop common goals (Pangle in Julia, 2021). Researchers used qualitative methods in analyzing data and descriptive methods in presenting research data. The technique used in data collection is the Talk Free Involvement Listening Technique (Zaim, 2014). Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded, namely 1) dominant semantic meaning can be carried out, namely emotive and ideational meanings, 2) friendship values ​​that arise, namely mutual support, mutual trust, and responsibility for the difficulties experienced by the two friends , and 3) this research can also be a reference in understanding the value of friendship for students and used as research material that can be developed in social life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemaknaan pemirsa televisi terhadap pesan yang disampaikan terkait unsur kepahlawanan dalam tayangan CNN Indonesia Heroes episode Metamorfosis Penjaga Habitat Kupu-Kupu dan Cerita Sang Penutur Dongeng. CNN Indonesia Heroes dipilih karena program acara ini menjadi bagian dari sedikit tayangan televisi yang mengusung tema-tema kepahlawanan saat ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode analisis resepsi encoding-decoding Stuart Hall yang digunakan untuk melihat pemaknaan dari para informan. Ada tiga posisi pemaknaan dalam analisis resepsi yakni posisi dominan hegemoni, negosiasi dan oposisi. Wawancara mendalam digunakan sebagai metode pengumpulan data terhadap lima informan dengan beraneka ragam latar belakang sosio kultural. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan pemaknaan yang berbeda-beda dari para informan dalam memaknai pesan unsur kepahlawanan dalam tayangan CNN Indonesia Heroes episode Metamorfosis Penjaga Habitat Kupu-Kupu dan Cerita Sang Penutur Dongeng ini. Beragamnya posisi pemaknaan tersebut didasari oleh sejumlah faktor, seperti latar belakang tingkat pendidikan dan pekerjaan para informan. Informan berlatar belakang pendidikan strata pascasarjana cenderung lebih kritis memaknainya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah mayoritas pemaknaan dari para informan berada pada pemaknaan dominan hegemoni. Bagi para informan, tayangan CNN Indonesia Heroes ini memang mengusung nilai dan makna kepahlawanan, dan hal ini sejalan dengan pesan yang ingin disampaikan oleh pembuat program acara ini

Abstract

PjBL adalah proyek yang kompleks dan realistis yang harus diselesaikan oleh mahasiswa. Proyek ini harus relevan dengan minat dan kebutuhan mahasiswa, serta memungkinkan mereka untuk menerapkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang telah dipelajari di kelas. Dalam proses pembuatan video klip, para mahasiswa mata kuliah Drama dapat belajar bagaimana memahami dan menganalisis makna lagu, dan bagaimana menerjemahkan makna tersebut ke dalam bentuk visual yang menarik. Pelaksanaan pembuatan Video Klip lagu juga disesuaikan dengan program PjBL (Project Based Learning) yang diterapkan oleh Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, FKIP, Universitas Malikussaleh. Kegiatan penayangan Video Klip Lagu Populer dilakukan pada Kamis, 27 Juni 2024, pukul 14.30 WIB. Acara ini dilaksanakan di Lobi A Gedung Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Malikussaleh. Pembuatan video klip lagu populer dapat dijadikan sebagai hasil akhir dari mata kuliah Drama yang menerapkan Project Based Learning (PjBL). Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya rangkaian unsur drama yang dimasukkan dalam video klip tersebut.

Abstract

This study explores audience interpretations of the television program "Indonesia Punya Cerita" on Trans TV in relation to issues of Indonesian identity in television broadcasts. "Indonesia Punya Cerita" was selected because it is one of the few television shows that not only caters to market demands but also promotes themes of nationalism and Indonesian identity. Additionally, the show’s unique packaging style distinguishes it from other similar programs. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews to collect data from informants with diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. The information gathered is analyzed using Stuart Hall’s Encoding-Decoding Reception Analysis Method, which categorizes audience interpretations into three positions: dominant hegemonic, negotiated, and oppositional. In reception analysis, the audience is seen as part of Interpretative Communities that are actively engaged in perceiving messages and producing meanings, thereby being active Producers of Meaning. The results reveal diverse interpretations among informants; however, most informants adopt an oppositional stance in interpreting the program. Interestingly, the oppositional interpretations are not limited to informants with postgraduate educational backgrounds but also include those with secondary education. For the informants, "Indonesia Punya Cerita" is merely a television show without significant impact.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and understand the audience’s motives by watching Buya Yahya’s Islamic content on the Al-Bahjah TV YouTube channel using the Uses and Gratification Theory as an analytical framework. This theory explains that audiences actively choose media to fulfill specific needs. In this research, viewers' motives are categorized based on five types of needs that media can satisfy, as proposed by Katz, Gurevitch, and Haas: cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integrative needs, social integrative needs, and tension release. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation and in-depth interviews with three informants from diverse backgrounds to those who watches Buya Yahya’s Islamic content on the Al-Bahjah TV YouTube channel. Data were analyzed using the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, regarding data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Thus, shows that the motives for watching Buya Yahya’s Islamic content are based on the five types of needs: cognitive, affective, personal integrative, social integrative, and tension release. However, the main motives are fulfilling cognitive needs, affective needs, social integrative needs, and tension release. Although the motive to fulfill personal integrative needs was present, it was not dominant nor considered a primary motive. The study also shows that Buya Yahya’s Islamic content on Al-Bahjah TV’s YouTube channel provides audiences with an in depth understanding of Islam, delivers a positive emotional impact, and offers inspiration and spiritual motivation.
