Abstract

Media sosial saat ini menjadi salah satu media yang paling banyak digunakan manusia dalam berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi. Media sosial, facebook, twitter, instagram, blog sudah menjadi pesaing media mainstream seperti suratkabar, televisi, radio dalam menyebarkan informasi. Namun kuantitas komunikasi di media sosial tidak dimbangi dari segi kualitas. Informasi yang tidak melalui cek dan ricek dengan cepatnya menyebar dari satu orang ke orang lainnya, penggunaan nama palsu, penulisan yang tidak sesuai dengan kaidah bahasa jurnalistik maupun bahasa Indonesia. Penggunaan simbol dan gaya bahasa yang menimbulkan makna ganda, sebagai ajang propaganda negatif, juga runtuhnya etika komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis media sosial facebook yang dijadikan alat untuk propaganda negatif pada sesorang atau kelompok tertentu. Artikel ini merupakan telaah kritis tentang fenomena akun palsu facebook, data bersumber dari akun facebook Quraish Shihab dan Anies-Sandy yang di manipulasi oleh orang lain yang berakibat pada citra negatif pemilik akun tersebut. Abstract

Communication can be performed directly (orally) or with the media. In the current de- velopment of communication technology, the use of modern  mass media such as the Internet is very popular. ICT era was allegedly able to change traditional forms of communication that is widely available in  Indonesia. Traditional media is part of social communication, in Indonesia  many types of traditional media are still often used in conveying the  message, idea, or opinion. Traditional media are in the form of folk art as well as in the form of verbal communication are usually done in groups in certain areas. In the city there are cultural Solo Jagongan, ie talking  together while relaxing. Jagongan can occur in a coffee shop, pos kamling, wedding ceremony, or in the stalls. Usually the people (men) hang out and talk and stay up until morning. Women also do the same thing but usually done during the day. The term jagongan so entrenched in the community in the city of Solo. Type of social communication should be used as a means of developing in Indonesia. Many communities in other regions who have ways of communicating with the group. As the local culture such patterns can be used to disseminate a variety of inno- vations, government policies, and others. Based on this background, the authors are interested to know the extent of social communication such as jagongan role in development in the city of Solo? Methods used are observation and interviewing informants. Purposive sampling tech- niques and qualitative data were analyzed descriptively.

Abstract

This study is the result of quantitative research to test the hypothesis that brand ambassadors Citra Kirana has an effect on the level of consumer confidence inthe hoax information kiranti’s product on social media. Samples in this study were 70 respondents, determining the sample using stratified sampling technique with the criteria of respondents teenage girls in Yadika High School 3. Tests of data analysis using validity, reliability, ANOVA test and simple linear regression test. By looking at the Anova table test there is a P-value at a significant column of large 0,000 <0,005 level of significant meaning that there is an influence between the two variables. it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The results of the determination coefficient (r square) amounted to 0.206 which means that the brand ambassador variable of Citra Kirana was able to increase consumer confidence in the Kiranti product hoax information on social media by 20.6%.Keywords: brand ambassador, public relations, credibility

Abstract

The high frequency of terror attacks that occurred in several countries has an impact on the pattern of media coverage. Previous studies indicate a standardization and formulation of media in constructing the reality about the attacks. The broad reach of the mass media potentially makes the reality framed by media affect the public's understanding of the issue significantly. This research uses critical paradigm with a qualitative approach, aims to examine and explore the constructed reality of Hanau attacks by analyzing the audio-visual content using Edelman method. Theories used are the theory of media construction of reality and news frame theory. The results indicate a similarity between the reality built by Deutsche Welle on the news about the Hanau attack and the reality about attack (in general) which is constructed by US media, such as Fox News Channel. There are some indications that Deutsche Welle producers are a bit resistance in using the word terror and terrorist on covering Hanau attack, apart from the official statement of the federal prosecutor's office that categorizes the case as terrorism.

Abstract

Perguruan Tinggi menghadapi perubahan drastis dalam proses belajar mengajar dari rumah di situasi COVID-19. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis kebijakan mengenai penciptaaan inovasi teknologi berbasis nilai-nilai kebudiluhuran dan menginterpretasikan komunikasi organisasi dalam pemanfatannya oleh Universitas budi Luhur di masa COVID-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara dan observasi. Subjek penelitian adalah pimpinan universitas yang bertanggung jawab merancang inovasi dan komunikasi dan objeknya adalah inovasi teknologi dan upaya komunikasi budaya di tengah pandemi COVID-19. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa Universitas Budi Luhur menciptakan delapan (8) inovasi yang sangat membantu proses perkuliahan dan kerja online, yaitu: 1) Sistem kuliah online 100 persen Online, 2) Menciptakan modul aplikasi untuk pengajuan keringanan pembayaran uang kuliah, 3) Aplikasi Rapat Online Monitoring Kegiatan Kampus, 4) Aplikasi keringanan SPP bagi calon mahasiswa baru yang terdampak COVID-19, 5) Aplikasi WFH untuk memantau pekerjaan selama WFH, 6) Application Programming Interface (API) untuk pembayaran uang kuliah kelas karyawan, biaya wisuda, sidang proposal dan tesis, 7) Aplikasi Sistem Monitoring Follow up calon mahasiswa baru, dan 8) Aplikasi Sistem pendaftaran online versi lite bagi guru-guru Bimbingan Konseling (BK) dalam mencari calon mahasiswa baru. Inovasi tersebut merupakan upaya kearifan luhur untuk mendukung kebijakan pemerintah sekaligus menjaga keberlangsungan kerja dan belajar mengajar dari rumah. Substansi penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berupa rekomendasi kebijakan inovasi teknologi kepada perguruan tinggi lain dengan menerapkan komunikasi berbasis nilai-nilai kebudiluhuran agar memperlancar proses inovasi.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemi has changed the world in all sectors, particularly the health, economy, and education sectors. World Health Organization (WHO) announced the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) as a global pandemi. Therefore each country began implementing social distancing policies. The President of Indonesia insists on doing all activities from home: work at home, study at home and worship at home. Budi Luhur University carried out the President's appeal by carrying out work and learning activities from home by prioritizing the health and safety of the entire academic community. It is also a form of value embodiment of responsibility, cooperation, love, mutual help, being patient, and being grateful for the situation during a pandemi. Services are provided in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals around Jakarta to protect doctors and health workers. The services implemented also consist of socializing to the public about social distancing, washing hands regularly, wearing masks, staying at home campaigns, and providing handwashing places for online taxi bike drivers. The strategic steps exerted in the form of dedication to various communities are based on human values and the embodiment of the mental attitude of the philosophical value  "Cerdas Berbudiluhur".

Abstract

Iklan Pasta Gigi Halal Bersiwak merupakan sosialisasi produk pasta gigi dengan inovasi terbaru dan berbada dengan pasta gigi lainnya. Inovasi ini bermaksud untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual dengan adanya penambahan serpihan siwak dalam pasta gigi. Namun, belum banyak masyarakat yang tahu pengenai produk baru ini. Dengan latar belakang tersebut, peneliti tertarik untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi masyarakat terhadap Iklan Pasta Gigi Sasha Halal Bersiwak. Berdasarkan persepsi inilah pada akhirnya khalayak mengambil tindakan untuk mencoba menggunakan produk yang diiklankan atau tidak. Teori A-T-R (Awareness, Trial, Reinforcement) mengajarkan bahwa masyarakat itu dapat dipengaruhi oleh iklan, hasilnya kita akan mendapatkan sekelompok orang yang relatif tetap memakai atau membeli produk-produk hasil iklan itu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif yaitu penelitian yang mendeskripsikan karakteristik dari suatu populasi tentang suatu fenomena yang diamati. Penelitian deskriptif salah satu jenis penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menyajikan gambaran yang lengkap mengenai keadaan sosial. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan, yaitu : data berupa hasil kuisioner yang terkumpul akan diolah menurut frekuensi dan presentasi (tabel) kemudian diuraikan dalam bentuk pernyataan menurut hasil data penelitian. Dengan mengetahui persepsi masyarakat terhadap Iklan Pasta Gigi Sasha Halal Bersiwak maka masyarakat akan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemahaman terhadap isi pesan dalam sebuah iklan dan apakah iklan tersebut mampu mengguggah kesadaran, dan membuat khalayak mecoba.

Abstract

ABSTRACTDangdut is one of the Indonesia's music genres, and come give a special color in thedevelopment of Indonesian music. Dangdut should be able to become the nation'sprecious asset, but in their own countr. Dangdut is actually considered “musikkampungan” sometimes some people shame and feel no prestige if they love this music.Negative image of dangdut is because of several factors that is the song tittle and thelyrics are vulgar and represent erotica, such as the song "Kucing Garong", "BelahDuren", "Cinta Satu Malam", "Hamil Duluan". Dangdut as a symbol of Indonesian musicif the image is negative it will affect the image of the Indonesia, because dangdut can beregarded as the identity of Indonesian people. The aims of this paper is to analyze an tointerpret the lyrics of dangdut songs, the analysis is done descriptively to the song text byusing pragmatic functional theory and critical language analysisKeywords: dangdut, erotica, pragmatic functional theory, denotation, connotation ABSTRAKDangdut merupakan salah satu genre musik yang ada di Indonesia dan telah memberiwarna tersendiri pada perkembangan musik tanah air. Dangdut seharusnya dapat menjadiasset bangsa yang sangat berharga, tetapi didalam negeri sendiri dangdut justru dianggapmusik kampungan, bahkan kalangan tertentu malu jika menyukai musik ini. Citra dangdutyang negatif disebabkan beberapa faktor antara lain judul lagu ataupun liriknya yangterkesan seronok, vulgar dan merepresentasikan erotika, seperti contohnya lagu “KucingGarong”, “Belah Duren”, “Cinta Satu Malam”, “Hamil Duluan”. Dangdut sebagai simbolmusik Indonesia jika citranya negatif maka akan berpengaruh pada citra bangsaIndonesia, karena dangdut bisa dikatakan sebagai identitas dari rakyat Indonesia. Paperini bertujuan untuk menganalisa lirik lagu dangdut dan berusaha memaknai lirik lagutersebut, analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif terhadap teks lagu dengan menggunakanteori fungsional pragmatik dan analisis bahasa kritis.Kata kunci: dangdut, erotika, fungsional pragmatis, denotasi, konotasi

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the communication strategies of lecturers and students in overcoming obstacles and boredom in online learning in the Communication Theory course. The research approach is qualitative with the case study method, the informant is a lecturer and 45 students. The results showed that during online lectures students tended to feel bored and get a culture shock in the learning process. To overcome this, the lecturer implements two-way communication, giving students the opportunity to respond either in the form of questions, discussions, and comments on what is conveyed by the lecturer. Lecturers position themselves as motivators by promoting polite communication, being able to be good listeners, and being the first to take the initiative, so that students dare to express opinions actively. it also needs to be the attention of lecturers and students to be active, creative and innovative. The right communication strategy is proven to be able to eliminate boredom in online lectures which in turn can improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

AbstractThroughout 2019, Indonesia was confronted with a number of mass actions that led to riots. In many discussions on mainstream media platform as well as academic institutions, the circulation of hoaxes and fake news on social media are often used as scapegoats. President of the Indonesian Anti-Defamation Society (Mafindo), Anita Wahid explained, in 2015, there was an average of 10 hoaxes circulated in Indonesia per month. This number increased to 27 per month in 2016, 59 per month in 2017, and 96 per month in 2018. According to Central Connecticut State University, in 2016, Indonesia was on the 60th position (out of 61 countries) regarding literacy and literate behaviour. Based on Aisah, Hasra, and Sumiati's finding, it is known that as many as 61 percent of 184 respondents (Indonesian undergraduate students) couldn't identify one of the three fake news that was presented. Meanwhile, according to Dr Quinton Temby's analysis, the protests on May 21-22 in Jakarta, which led to riots, were the result of online disinformation. This type of chaos was the first time that had ever happened among democratic countries. The dependence of the Indonesian public on the social media platform can indicate a decline in public trust for the mainstream media. Temby claimed that this happened because most of Indonesian’s mainstream media were too sympathetic to the government. On this paper, the authors examine the phenomenon of the circulation of hoax and fake news in Indonesia through a multi-modal analysis. We started the study by conducting background analysis (literature reviews) on the culture of literacy in Indonesia, continuing with frame analysis of METRO TV’s news (allegedly as one of the pro-government media), then analysing the findings in the social responsibility perspective. Results of the analysis showed an increase in the number of hoaxes and false news' circulation in Indonesia. For this reason, to combat its circulation, the government's commitment is needed to foster a literate culture. The mainstream media need to increase public trust through more educative and critical programs. Social media companies need to be more active and responsive in preventing and combating the circulation of hoaxes and fake news. Dalam banyak diskusi di media massa mau pun institusi akademik, peredaran hoax dan fake news di media sosial sering dijadikan sebagai kambing hitam. Presiden Masyarakat Anti Fitnah Indonesia (Mafindo), Anita Wahid menerangkan bahwa pada 2015 rata-rata 10 hoax beredar di Indonesia per bulannya. Jumlah tersebut meningkat menjadi 27 per bulan pada 2016, 59 per bulan pada 2017, dan 96 per bulan pada 2018. Hasil studi di Universitas Negeri Central Connecticut tentang budaya literasi global pada 2016, menempatkan Indonesia di peringkat 60 dari 61 negara yang diteliti. Dari penelitian Aisah, Hasra, dan Sumiati, diketahui sebanyak 61 persen dari 184 responden (mahasiswa Indonesia) tidak dapat mengidentifikasi 1 dari 3 fake news yang ditampilkan. Sementara itu, Dr. Quinton Temby berpendapat bahwa aksi massa di Jakarta yang berujung kericuhan pada 21-22 Mei lalu ialah akibat dari disinformasi online. Kericuhan semacam itu merupakan yang pertama kali terjadi di negara demokrasi. Ketergantungan sejumlah rakyat Indonesia terhadap platform media sosial merupakan indikasi penurunan keperayaan publik kepada media mainstream. Temby mengklaim bahwa hal tersebut terjadi karena sebagian besar media mainstream Indonesia terlalu bersimpati kepada pemerintah. Pada penelitian ini, penulis mengkaji fenomena peredaran hoax dan fake news di Indonesia melalui analisis multi-modal. Kami memulai dari analisis latar belakang (studi pustaka) tentang budaya literasi di Indonesia, dilanjutkan dengan analisis framing berita METROTV (yang diduga sebagai salah satu media massa pendukung pemerintah), kemudian menganalisis temuan-temuan dalam perspektif tanggung jawab sosial. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan jumlah sirkulasi hoax dan fake news di Indonesia. Untuk itu, dalam upaya memerangi peredarannya diperlukan komitmen pemerintah dalam menumbuhkan budaya literasi. Media massa mainstream perlu meningkatkan kepercayaan publik melalui tayangan-tayangan yang lebih edukatif dan kritis. Perusahaan media sosial perlu berperan lebih aktif dan responsif dalam mencegah dan melawan peredaran hoax dan fake news. Di saat yang sama, masyarakat Indonesia perlu mengedukasi diri melalui peningkatkan pemahaman dan pengetahuan secara mandiri.Kata Kunci: Analisis Framing, Budaya Literasi, Fake News, Hoax, Teori Tanggung Jawab Sosial
