Abstract

Pancasila plays an important role in unifying the various backgrounds in Indonesia. Although it must be noted that today there is a group of Indonesian citizens who still reject Pancasila with reasons not in accordance with Islam. This rejection seems to be caused by a paradigm and a different perspective. Islam is a religion, and Pancasila is an ideology. As an ideology, Pancasila is the objectification of Islam, the religion objective elements exist in Pancasila. Universal values of Islam explicitlyanimating principle of Pancasila which has principles of divinity, humanity, unity, deliberation, and justice. This article will elaborate on these principles from the perspective of wisdom Sufi Jalal al-Din Rumi (1207- 1273). Sufism thought of Rumi will be used as an analysis tool in “reading” the principles of Pancasila, particularly the principle “Belief in God Almighty” (“Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa”). The focus of the first principleis due to the historical fact on serious debate between the nationalist Muslims and secular Muslims on the one hand, and other religious groups, on the other hand, so that led to the compromise. Pancasila memegang peranan penting dalam mempersatukanberbagai macam latar belakang di Indonesia. Meskipun harus diakui bahwa hingga saat ini ada saja sekelompok warga negara Indonesia yang masih menolak Pancasila dengan alasan tidak sesuai dengan Islam. Penolakan ini tampaknya disebabkan oleh paradigma dan cara pandang yang berbeda. Islam adalah agama, dan Pancasila adalah sebuah ideologi. Sebagai ideologi, Pancasila merupakan objektivikasi dari Islam, yakni unsur-unsurobjektif agama ada dalam Pancasila. Nilai-nilai universal Islam secara eksplisit menjiwai muatan Pancasila yang berprinsip ketuhanan, kemanusiaan, persatuan, permusyawaratan, dan keadilan. Artikel ini akan mengelaborasi prinsip-prinsip tersebut dari perspektif kearifan (wisdom) sufi agung Jalal al-Din Rumi (1207-1273). Pemikiran tasawuf Rumi akan dijadikan sebagai pisau analisis dalam “membaca” (“reading”) prinsipprinsip Pancasila, khususnya sila Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa. Fokus terhadap sila pertama ini disebabkan oleh fakta sejarah adanya perdebatan yang serius antara Muslim-Nasionalis dan Muslim sekuler di satu sisi, dan kelompok agama lain, di sisi yang lain, sehingga berujung pada kompromi.

Abstract

This article explores the thought of a local Sufism, Panglima Utar (Mukhtar bin Abdurrahim), originated from West Kotawaringin, CentralKalimantan. It focuses on the only manuscript written by him. The manuscript gives valuable information about the continuity of his thought and the established teaching of mysticism in Kalimantan since the 17th and 18th century. In this manuscript, he explains the position of a teacher towards sâlik, the form of wirid and dzikir (praying words), the final purpose as well as the teaching about how to understand Allah (ma‘rifah Allâh). The mysticism thoughts have a significant intellectual and spiritual line. The teachings found in Panglima Utar’s manuscript clearly shows that they are on the mainstream of mysticism thoughts in Indonesian archipelago.

Abstract

The article is a result of qualitative research that focuses on understanding data by means of classification, categorization, and taxonomy; while the approach in this research is Max Weber’s Social Action Theory to analyze Guru Bakhiet’s Sufism thought with the perspective of Max Weber’s social action theory. By referring to Weber’s theory, Guru Bakhiet occupies the position as ‘the actor/agent, the meaning, and the movement.’ As the actor, he is ‘the source of meaning, the interpreter of meaning, and contextualizing and transforming meaning’ to his own community or outside community so that they are moved to act. He builds his movement with a rational action based on the value. The value of his central reference is the teachings of Sufism that have been interpreted creatively to be understood by others and act with and on behalf of the value. Therefore, the movement or social action is performed by Guru Bakhiet is not merely emerges from a vacuum. It appears in an interaction pattern that already exists between individuals and groups. Therefore, when Sufism in his mind, it means the actor speaks of texts, while the texts are about language, and the language plays the personality of the Sufis and the people around them. Because of his important role, it is very important to continue to renew the language of Sufism and refresh it in order to maintain its transformative power or social criticism in the contextual or reality realm.

Abstract

Tuak/thockh is an alcoholic drink in the village of Kaera-Padangsul. Tuak is believed by the Padangsul people to be a heritage from their ancestors that must be preserved. The aim of this research is to determine the causes and impacts of consuming alcoholic drinks such as palm wine by teenagers aged 12-18 years. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method which is carried out by researchers, through and within the method steps. One of them is that the researcher conducted field research in mid-September-October 2023. The researcher conducted in-depth observations and interviews with 5 (five) informants. Researchers found results that show that the main problem in teenagers aged 12-18 years consuming palm wine is caused by family/parental, cultural, economic, social, health, educational and spiritual factors. This has a significant impact on their education, namely they do not continue their education (drop out of school). Damages physical health such as coughing up blood, lung disease. Fights with friends, even with his biological parents, has no self-confidence, talks a lot, is lazy at work. Don't pray, don't go to places of worship, and don't read the holy books. Starting from this basis, all elements within the Kaera Padangsul village community need to network and work together to assist in the development of teenagers aged 12-18 years, so that the future of teenagers at that age can be achieved in accordance with their dreams and their lives. will be better and more prosperous.
