Abstract

Background: The postpartum period is an important time for physical and emotional recovery, during which breast care is necessary to help increase milk production. However, many postpartum mothers in the Pungpungan Community Health Center working area are unable to produce milk optimally. Some mothers say that their milk has not flowed smoothly until the third day, causing mastitis and sore nipples due to a lack of breast care. Purpose: To analyze the effectiveness of breast care techniques on breast milk production in postpartum mothers in the Pungpungan Health Center service area. Method: A pre-experimental study design using a one-shot case study design, with total sampling involving 21 respondents. The independent variable was breast care, and the dependent variable was postpartum mothers' breast milk production. Data collection instruments included observation sheets and questionnaires. Data processing utilized editing, coding, scoring, tabulation, and the Friedman test. Results: Of the 21 respondents, it was found that the majority (15 people, 71.4%) had low breast milk production before breast care, while the majority (18 people, 85.7%) had good breast milk production after breast care. The results of the Friedman test showed a p-value (Asymp. Sig 2) of 0.000, indicating that the breast care technique is effective in improving breast milk production in mothers. Conclusion: Breast care techniques are effective in promoting milk production. Postpartum mothers are expected to consistently practice the breast care techniques they have learned in order to increase and facilitate milk production.

Abstract

Worldwide, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperuricemia, dyslipidemia, and hyperuricemia are the leading causes of death, including among immigrant communities who often have limited access to health services. Due to economic problems, legal status, and lack of information, Indonesian immigrants living in Malaysia are a vulnerable group who often neglect early detection of their diseases. The purpose of this community service program is to raise public awareness of the risks associated with NCDs and to detect them early through the measurement of blood pressure, blood sugar, total cholesterol, and uric acid levels. In Bukit Sungai Putih Lembah Jaya Utara, Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia, 120 immigrant residents underwent direct health screening and healthy lifestyle training. The results of the community service activity showed that 43.3% of participants had hypertension, 27.5% had above-normal blood sugar levels, 24.2% had hyperuricemia, and 44.2% had high total cholesterol levels. These findings indicate that NCD risk factors are prevalent among immigrants. It is evident that community-based screening helps detect health problems early and encourages broader health efforts. Therefore, to improve the overall health of immigrant residents, sustainable community-based interventions are essential

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that continues to increase and is influenced by various lifestyle factors such as physical activity, diet, smoking, coffee consumption, and stress levels. This study aims to analyze the influence of lifestyle on the incidence of hypertension in the community of Campurejo Village, Bojonegoro Regency based on the theory of Lawrence W. Green. The study used a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population was 2,062 residents aged 30–50 years with a sample of 92 respondents selected using a random sampling technique. Data were collected through a lifestyle questionnaire, the DASS instrument for stress levels, and blood pressure measurements using a digital sphygmomanometer. Data analysis was performed using binary logistic regression. The results showed that diet (p=0.002), smoking habits (p=0.007), and stress levels (p=0.000) significantly influenced the incidence of hypertension, while physical activity (p=0.684) and coffee consumption (p=0.318) did not significantly influence. Unhealthy diet is the most dominant factor that increases the risk of hypertension. The conclusion of this study is that lifestyle has an important role in the incidence of hypertension, especially diet, smoking habits, and stress levels, so that promotive and preventive efforts based on public health behavior are needed.
