Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused everyone to feel anxious. The government has made several preventive strategies to inhibit the spread of the virus through social distancing, physical distancing, and the stay at home order which lead to the decreasing access to family, friends, and other social support systems and causing loneliness and increasing psychological problems such as anxiety and depression. Thus, everyone, especially teenagers, are expected to be able to adapt to the new habits (the new normal) in carrying out healthy and clean-living behaviour. Those who are prone to COVID-19 gradually develop adaptive and functional skills and competencies, and build a self-identity that can prepare themselves to carry out their roles and respond to societal expectations as they mature, which can also be regarded as a period of storms and stress. Objectives: Is to identify the relationship of coping strategies with resilience and anxiety in the transition to the new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic on teenagers in Kupang City. Methods: The research design used in this study was cross-sectional. The sample in this study was 147 measured using the inclusion and exclusion criteria that had been set. Meanwhile, the inclusion criteria in this study were as follows: domiciled in Kupang City, have stayed in Kupang for more than 3 years, aged over 15-19, and class VII of junior high school. The measuring instrument used in this study is the Ways of Coping questionnaire from Folkman to measure coping strategies, the self-rating anxiety scale (SRAS) questionnaire from Zung to measure anxiety, and the Gartland Questionnaire to measure resilience. The data analysis was conducted by using Chi Square test. Results:The results showed p-value < 0.05 was a relationship of coping strategies with self-efficacy and anxiety on junior high school teenagers in Kupang City. Conclusions: Coping strategies have a very significant relationship with self-efficacy and anxiety in adolescents. Adolescents who have good coping strategies have good self-efficacy during the new normal era. This is also similar to anxiety, adolescents who have good coping strategies have low anxiety.

Abstract

Coronary heart disease is a disease caused by flak that accumulates in the arteries which reduces the supply of oxygen throughout the body, especially the heart muscle. A good quality of life in patients with coronary heart disease is needed to maintain that patients are able to get the best health status, optimally and for as long as possible. The study aims to find out the Factors Affecting the Quality of Life of Patients with Coronary Heart Disease at the Sikumana Health Center. A quantitative descriptive research method using a cross sectional approach. The results of the 3 variables showed that depression had a significant relationship to quality of life p-value = 0.028, coping had no effect on the quality of life of heart sufferers p-value = 0.078 and family support no effect on the quality of life of people with heart disease with p-value = 0.101, multiple multivariate analysis with the backward LR method, it can be seen that the R Square value is 0.335 meaning that coping and family support variables explain the quality of life of heart patients by 33.5% while the rest is explained by other variables not examined in this study. based on the beta coefficient, the independent variable that has the greatest beta coefficient value is family support (coef. beta = -1.867). It can be concluded that the independent variable that has the most influence on the quality of life of heart sufferers is family support

Abstract

Tantangan yang dihadapi remaja seperti tuntutan sekolah, akses internet yang bebas serta masalah sosial lainya, menyebabkan remaja bersaing dan beradaptasi dengan lingkungannya, juga terjadi perubahan pada kesadaran dirinya (self image), dimana lebih peduli terhadap pandangan orang lain terhadap dirinya. Hal ini membuat remaja perlu beradaptasi. Banyak tantangan yang dihadapi oleh remaja dapat menyebabkan stres. Pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, remaja dilatih untuk dapat meningkatkan dan menerapkan keterampilan manajemen stress yang baik dalam mengelola stres sehingga diharapkan remaja memiliki cara yang tepat dalam menghadapi stres dalam kehidupannya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan remaja mampu memilih cara yang adaptif untuk mengatasi masalah yang dihadapi.

Abstract

Malaria cases are still a major health problem in the world, especially in countries with tropical climates such as Africa, America, Asia, malaria cases are not due to high cases because malaria cases fluctuate, causing death in endemic areas or not endemic area. Method: using qualitative, lectures to an audience of 40 Cisereh villagers and conducting discussions with the audience. Result: community service that prevention of malaria is carried out by spraying the house (fooging) has never been carried out because it is the duty of the health person or the local health center and the community does not have the tools, what is done is only using mosquito coils or mosquito lotion just. Analisis: From the results of socialization, respondents understand the importance of malaria prevention and handling by maintaining the cleanliness of the local environment, want to direct speakers to wear long clothes when going out of the house and use mosquito repellent lotion, and want to use ITN mosquito nets. Conclusion: Malaria is the highest cause of mortality and morbidity in the world for both toddlers and adults, or all ages and the cause is the bite of the Anopheles mosquito, therefore it is important for us to implement environmental hygiene. should strengthen malaria control strategies such as socializing insecticide-treated nets (ITN), recommending the use of ITNs, and increasing public awareness about malaria transmission
