Abstract

Filariasis (elephantiasis) is a chronic infectious disease caused by filarial worms and transmitted by Mansonia, Anopheles, Culex, and Armigeres mosquitoes. The worm lives in the canal and lymph nodes with acute clinical manifestations of recurrent fever and lymph node inflammation. This disease is one of the serious public health problems in Indonesia. Almost all regions of Indonesia are filariasis endemic areas, especially in Eastern Indonesia which has a higher prevalence. The provision of mass drugs for filariasis needs to be evaluated for the sustainability of treatment programs for the following year, so that an efficient and effective treatment program model can be found. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the implementation of POMP (Giving Mass Medicines for Prevention) for Filariasis and the factors associated with its success in East Manggarai Regency. The study was conducted in East Manggarai Regency in 2017, with a qualitative approach, using a mixed method, in order to evaluate the success of mass treatment in East Manggarai Regency. Research subjects were family heads who had taken medication, health officers, community leaders, religious leaders, and managers of filariasis control programs; selected by purposive sampling technique. The data collected includes monitoring and evaluation, partnerships, drug availability, drug distribution, the ability of health workers, the presence of health workers, the negative effects of taking medicine, and government policies. Data were collected through interviews and FGDs, then analyzed descriptively with a qualitative approach the results showed that the success of POMP was 83%, with problems namely drug distribution was not evenly distributed, implementation of uneven treatment, monitoring of side effects of drugs was not complete, type of drug was incomplete, frequency of treatment was not regulated, and funding policy support from legislative institutions did not yet exist. Abstract

Health care institutions must strive to satisfy customers. The spread of customer complaints should be avoided and instead customer satisfaction should be spread effectively. Satisfied customers usually have high loyalty, which must be maintained rather than chasing other customers who are not necessarily loyal. With the increasingly fierce competition in the global era, customer satisfaction must get serious attention. Every health service provider must try to satisfy customers if it wants to exist in the competition. Keywords: health service; quality; customer satisfaction

Abstract

Stunting in toddlers is a problem for the world. The causes of stunting are very broad, in the sense that it involves very many factors. Stunting in children under five is one of the main health problems with several characteristics, namely: 1) occurring in a wide scope; 2) involves very diverse determinants; 3) is chronic. Thus, based on logic, the approach used to prevent stunting in children under five must also be relevant to these characteristics. In relation to the first and second characteristics, currently stunting prevention efforts in all regions and levels have been carried out intensively, as well as efforts carried out across programs and across sectors. Evidence-based stunting prevention efforts have also been implemented involving educational institutions and research and development institutions. Evidence based practice in stunting prevention has become a must, so that the efforts made have the right direction, so that they can achieve the expected goals. Abstract

Most of the results of correlation analysis between variables are not equipped with visualization, so it is deemed necessary to explain how best to visualize the results of correlation analysis, especially for numerical variables. In this case, the best way to present correlations between numerical variables is a scatter diagram. If the points on the diagram are closer to the straight line, the higher the correlation coefficient, meaning that the degree of correlation is getting stronger. In this case, the positive correlation is indicated by the line from the lower left to the upper right. This visualization helps clarify the reader's understanding of the results of the correlation analysis, as well as being a valuable lesson for their similar research projects.
