Abstract

Paradigm changes in the world of education demand innovation in classroom learning, including in chemistry subjects. This study aims to see students' responses to the product development of acid-based solution e-module based on chemical literacy. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research. The research sampling technique used random sampling with the number of research subjects as many as 36 people who were students of the 11th grade in one of public Senior High School in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. The data obtained were processed quantitatively with the results of the study showing that the students' response to the acid-base e-module based on chemical literacy was 98.6% of students gave a good response, so this module was good for use in learning chemistry on acid-base material. Suggestions for further research are expected to proceed to the e-module effectiveness test stage.

Abstract

This study aims to prove the construct validity and reliability of students' perceptions of chemistry learning instruments using the STEM approach using Second Order Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The sample in this study was 455 public high school students spread across South Bengkulu district, Bengkulu Province. The instrument developed is a questionnaire instrument using a Likert scale which consists of four dimensions, namely the scientific dimension (DS), the mathematical dimension (DM), the engineering and technology dimension (DTT) and the STEM dimension (DST). The results of the study show that the four dimensions have good validity and are still acceptable because the loading factor value is above 0.40. In proving reliability using Cronbach's Alpha, a value of > 0.6 (0.855) was obtained so that it was declared reliable and in further analysis proving construct reliability using Composite Reliability (CR) showed that all dimensions of student perceptions had good construct reliability as well

Abstract

This research aims to develop mobile learning media based on Android media in education for sustainable (ESD) context to improve students’ chemical literacy on colloidal system subjects. Scientific issues are presented in each learning activity using this Android-based ESD learning media. The method used in this study was research and development with 4D model development (define, design, development, and disseminate). Media feasibility criteria for Android-based learning media products with ESD contexts on colloidal system materials are based on assessments by material experts, media experts, practicality tests by five teachers, and legibility tests by students. The results of the practicality test of android media by reviewers and peer reviewers showed a very good result and the readability test by students showed a mean score in the very good categoryThe findings confirm that Android-based ESD learning media is practical and effective for teaching colloidal systems in chemistry. The independent sample t-test showed a significant difference in chemical literacy between the control and experimental groups (p = 0.000 < 0.05), with an effect size of 2.194, classified as strong. This application enhances students' competencies in sustainable development by fostering awareness of limited natural resources, differentiating sustainable and unsustainable behaviors, and improving ESD-based numerical literacy. Overall, the study validates the feasibility of this media in enhancing students' chemical literacy.
