Abstract

Gulma merupakan tumbuhan yang berada di sekitar tanaman yang sedang dibudidaya dan dapat mengakibatkan kehilangan hasil secara tidak langsung pada tanaman budidaya selain kehilangan hasil langsung akibat hama dan penyakit tanaman. Untuk mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal dalam pengelolaan tanaman, apotek hidup agar dapat tumbuh dan berkembang dengan baik, maka sebaiknya tanaman apotek hidup dapat tumbuh dengan tidak diganggu oleh tumbuhan gulma yang sering tumbuh di dekat tanaman apotek hidup. Maka tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan mencari tahu jenis gulma apa saja yang tumbuh di lahan tanaman apotek hidup di SMP Negeri 6 Kota Ternate. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode observasi langsung. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan di dapatkan sebanyak 27 spesies gulma yang terdapat di lahan tanaman apotek hidup yang terdiri dari 832 indivifu dan terbagi dalam 3 kelompok gulma. Kelompok gulam berdaun lebar ditemukan dengan jumlah 691 individu (83%), sedangkan gulma rerumputan atau rumput-rumputan yaitu sebanyak 97 tumbuhan (12%) dan gulma jenis teki dengan jumlah 44 individu (5%). Secara umum bahwa gulma daun lebar merupakan gulma dominan yang tumbuh di lahan apotek hidup.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and PhET simulations in improving the learning outcomes of first-semester students in the Science Education Program at Khairun University. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach involving 28 students. The research instrument consisted of a learning achievement test, analyzed using a paired sample t-test and normalized gain (N-gain). The findings revealed a significant increase in posttest scores compared to pretest scores (p < 0.05), with an average N-gain categorized as medium. These results indicate that integrating AI and PhET-based learning successfully enhances students’ conceptual understanding, promotes learning autonomy, and bridges the gap in fundamental physics knowledge. The study highlights the importance of employing intelligent technologies and interactive simulations as innovative strategies in 21st-century science education.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) “Gerakan Peduli Lingkungan: Bakti Sosial di Taman Kota Toboko Ternate” bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kebersihan dan kelestarian lingkungan perkotaan. Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan karena rendahnya kepedulian pengunjung taman terhadap kebersihan dan pengelolaan sampah. Melalui pendekatan partisipatif dan edukatif, mahasiswa bersama masyarakat melakukan aksi bersih taman, pemilahan sampah, serta edukasi lingkungan singkat. Hasil kegiatan PKM menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kebersihan taman, partisipasi masyarakat, dan kerja sama antara mahasiswa dan warga. Program PKM ini membuktikan bahwa tindakan sederhana dapat menumbuhkan kesadaran kolektif untuk menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan kota.

Abstract

Used cooking oil is no longer needed after cooking, but it can still be used as a basic ingredient for making soap; if thrown away directly, it can potentially pollute the environment. Community service aims to provide useful information and practical experience to Loto Village PKK members in using used cooking oil and cloves as aromatic ingredients for making non-cosmetic soap. The activity was carried out on October 20 2025, in Loto Village, West Ternate District, Ternate City, involving 25 homemakers who were members of the PKK. The activities used a community participation approach through initial interviews, socialisation, tutorials, direct practice, discussions, and evaluation. Participants learned about the use of used cooking oil, the principles of soap making, and the stages of processing used cooking oil into aromatic soap using the cold process method. The results showed that most participants had no previous experience making soap but were interested in participating and gaining practical experience in preparing ingredients, processing used cooking oil, mixing ingredients, adding cloves as a local aromatic ingredient, and printing soap. The joint practice produced 20 pieces of aromatic soap, which the participants then took home. Documentation of activities also produced videos that have received copyright registration. This activity provides practical experience and increases participants' awareness regarding alternatives to using used cooking oil as household waste. However, this knowledge was not assessed quantitatively, only descriptively, because no pretest, posttest, or evaluation questionnaire was administered after the activity.
