Abstract

Bone Bolango District has taken quite a role in increasing household waste production. Based on the book of the Sanitation Program Memorandum of Bone Bolango Regency, the level of service for handling household waste is 2.5 percent collected and disposed of to the TPS, 97.5 percent is not transported by the Garbage Man (buried, thrown into the river, dumped into empty land, etc.). 86 percent of household waste management is burned and 5.5 percent is disposed of into rivers / sea / lakes. The practice of sorting waste by households is 11 percent sorted and 89 percent not sorted. In 2017, through the local government, a Waste Collection Site (TPS) was built in Dutohe Barat Village, Kabila District, Bonebolango Regency with the aim that the resulting household waste can be processed and provide economic added value for the local community. The results showed that the overall involvement of the community as a whole was still low and the support provided by the village government was still low. The forms of waste management using the TPS3R approach in Dutohe Barat Village have not been running as they should. The economic potential that can be obtained per month is 3,753,120 rupiah. Community involvement is still low due to their minimal knowledge of how to manage household waste, as well as their low willingness to use compost. Meanwhile, the type of inorganic waste which clearly has economic potential is also only done improperly because of the shortage of workers who are willing to be involved.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significance of the effect of performance appraisal on career development at the Atinggola District Office, North Gorontalo Regency. This study used a sample of 31 respondents, the questionnaire was used as the main data collection tool, and hypothesis testing was analyzed using regression analysis. Based on the results of the study, it is shown that the hypothesis that performance appraisal has a positive and significant effect on employee career development is proven by the regression coefficient value. The contribution given by the performance appraisal variable to career development is 0.537 or 53.7%, that if the performance appraisal variable increases by one unit, career development (Y) increases by 0.537. From the processed data, it can be seen that the coefficient of determination is r2 = 0.695. This value means that 69.5% of the independent variable X can explain the dependent variable Y and 30.5% is explained by other variables, or in other words that the contribution of the independent variable, namely performance appraisal to career development, is 69.5% while the rest is 30.5% is influenced by other variables not included in this study.

Abstract

Income inequality is a pressing issue in developing countries, with far-reaching consequences for social welfare. This study examines the impact of redistribution policies on income inequality and social welfare in the context of developing nations. We analyze various policies, including progressive taxation, social safety nets, and direct cash transfers, and assess their effectiveness in reducing income disparities. Case studies from countries like Brazil and South Africa provide valuable insights into successful redistribution programs. Additionally, we explore the challenges and limitations of such policies, including fiscal constraints, corruption, and political resistance. Our findings reveal that well-designed redistribution policies can significantly reduce income inequality, improve access to education, enhance healthcare, and reduce poverty. However, we also highlight the trade-offs and unintended consequences associated with these policies. By understanding the intricate relationship between income inequality and social welfare, this research aims to provide policymakers with valuable insights and recommendations to create more equitable and prosperous societies.
