Abstract

The research that has been carried out is entitled "Difficulties of Grade 3 Students in Solving Math Story Problems on Flat Shape Material at MIN 9 Medan School" with the background that students at this school have problems with solving math word problems. Among them are students not being able to determine what things they have to do first in solving story problems, the accuracy of matching objects and the ability of students to draw conclusions from the work done by students and relate it to the initial problem to be solved. This study aims to determine the ability of grade 3 students in solving word problems, the completion stage, and identify the difficulties experienced by grade 3 students at MIN 9 Medan. The research methodology uses a qualitative approach. The sampling technique is based on the criteria set by the researcher. The informants in this study were all 30 grade 3 students at MIN 9 Medan. Retrieval of research data used in this thesis, namely interviews. The data processing tool in this study is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that: 1) Students' difficulties in solving word problems at the understanding stage were difficulties in identifying the question keywords, students' difficulties at the planning stage were difficulties in transforming the question sentences into mathematical models, students' difficulties at the plan implementation stage were difficult calculations influenced by the students' ability in multiplication and division as well as mastery of the concept of measurement material, the difficulty of calculating is characterized by calculation errors made by students, the difficulty at the review stage is in the form of difficulty writing concluding sentences, 2) The factors causing the difficulties experienced by students consist of four causal factors namely personal factors of students, factors of giving assistance, factors of mastery of concepts and factors of student perceptions, 3) Efforts that can be made by the teacher to reduce student difficulties, namely identifying problems with difficulties experienced by students, making story questions using communicative language, increasing practice questions stories, implementing cooperative learning, contextual learning, providing individual guidance, providing motivation and rewards and using learning media.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: (1) What is the mathematics learning achievement of class IV MIN 1 Dairi students, (2) What is the teacher's role in the mathematics learning achievement of class IV MIN 1 Dairi students, (3) Why teachers have an important role in students' mathematics learning achievement class IV MIN 1 Dairi. This research uses qualitative research methods in the form of written or oral data from related people. The subjects of this research were the homeroom teachers of class IV C and students of class IV C. In the data collection process this research used three natural methods, namely: observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is carried out by: data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results reveal that (1) Learning achievement is the level of humanity possessed by students in accepting, rejecting and assessing information obtained in the teaching and learning process. Learning achievement is a real skill that can be measured by knowledge, attitudes and skills as an active interaction between learning and learning objects during the teaching and learning process to achieve learning outcomes or goals. (2) Teachers must position themselves actively and position themselves as professionals, in accordance with the demands of a developing society and the demands of science and technology that are global. Teachers have the responsibility to bring students to achieve their desired goals. (3) Teachers need to understand the principles of learning because each individual has different conditions. Good student conditions will facilitate the learning process in class. So teachers must arouse readiness, motivate, provide goals, perceptions, understand individual differences, carry out transfers, arouse cognitive and affective skills, arouse students' psychomotor skills, and carry out evaluations to facilitate learning and provide benefits to what has been learned in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out (1) what the teaching patterns of baby boomers generation teachers are in teaching the yellow book at MAS Al-Washliyah 01 Medan, (2) what the teaching patterns of generation X teachers are in teaching the yellow book at MAS Al-Washliyah 01 Medan, ( 3) what are the teaching patterns of Millennial generation teachers in teaching the yellow book at MAS Al-Washliyah 01 Medan. The type of this research is qualitative research. Qualitative research is presenting the results in the form of narrative descriptions. This research uses a phenomenological approach which is usually used to reveal the meanings of human behavior. Data collection uses interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research uses the Miles & Huberman interactive data analysis model. There are three streams of activities which simultaneously reduce data, present data, formulate conclusions, and verify data analysis. The results of the research show that (1) the teachers of the baby boomers generation, generation is in the book. (2) Then all the teachers who teach the yellow book have carried out their roles well, namely as educators, managers, administrators, supervisors, leaders, innovators, facilitators and evaluators. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to identify learning management in enhancing 4C skills (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity) among students at SMP IT Nurul Ilmi Medan. The 4C skills are essential for 21st-century learners; therefore, their implementation requires a strategic and practical learning management system. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, focusing on managerial processes including planning, organizing, leading, and supervising learning activities. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, semi-participant observations, and document analysis. The results show that learning management at SMP IT Nurul Ilmi Medan effectively enhances 4C skills through systematic planning (task analysis, needs identification, goal formulation), flexible organization of resources and classrooms, supportive and motivating teacher leadership, and supervision through reflection and academic oversight. The implemented learning management not only supports the achievement of academic objectives but also creates a learning environment conducive to the development of 21st-century skills. Thus, the application of effective learning management plays a crucial role in establishing a relevant, innovative, and competency-oriented learning process. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi manajemen pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan keterampilan 4C (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity) pada siswa di SMP IT Nurul Ilmi Medan. Keterampilan 4C sangat krusial bagi peserta didik abad ke-21, sehingga implementasinya memerlukan sistem manajemen pembelajaran yang strategis dan praktis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, berfokus pada proses manajerial yang mencakup perencanaan, pengorganisasian, kepemimpinan, dan pengawasan pembelajaran. Dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi semi-partisipan, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pembelajaran di SMP IT Nurul Ilmi Medan secara efektif meningkatkan keterampilan 4C melalui perencanaan yang sistematis (analisis tugas, identifikasi kebutuhan, perumusan tujuan), pengorganisasian sumber daya dan kelas yang fleksibel, kepemimpinan guru yang suportif dan memotivasi, serta pengawasan melalui refleksi dan supervisi akademik. Manajemen pembelajaran yang dilakukan tidak hanya mendukung tercapainya tujuan akademik, tetapi juga membentuk lingkungan belajar yang kondusif bagi pengembangan keterampilan abad ke-21. Dengan demikian, penerapan manajemen pembelajaran yang efektif berperan penting dalam menciptakan proses pembelajaran yang relevan, inovatif, dan berorientasi pada penguatan kompetensi siswa secara menyeluruh.
