Abstract

Equitable development is a form of justice obtained by villages that in terms of spatial context are indeed less advantaged by the reach of infrastructure and public facilities. This obstacle is certainly not a reason to make villages independent and empower themselves. This study uses qualitative with the aim of exploring data that researchers can obtain while in the field. This research is related to the ability of North Tapanuli Regency to be able to produce independent villages. The PkM activities of the Sociology of Religion study program are a good bridge by inviting competent speakers to be able to socialize the issues of stunting and religious moderation. It is hoped that the Hutatoruan IX community will gain knowledge and be able to apply stunting and religious moderation materials. The short-term target of this PkM is to raise public awareness of stunting prevention and encourage a tolerant attitude towards differences in a multicultural society. The PKM program implemented to socialize stunting education and religious moderation has been implemented quite well. Sitnihuta Village has the opportunity to build multicultural awareness in order to strengthen religious moderation, receiving a positive response from the community, indicated by the many questions asked by the community during the PKM activity discussion session

Abstract

Individual activities in new media in much of the literature are considered separate and unrelated to the offline world. This research shows that activities in new media actually involve individual activities in everyday life. The popularity of coffee shop culture cannot become an urban culture without the role of new media. The presence of new media allows individuals or influencers to share photos and videos while in coffee shops. A coffee shop is also a good, aesthetic, contemporary object for all the services, food and drinks provided to consumers. This condition is what coffee shop consumers take advantage of to share their activities through new media. The aim of this research is to find out if activities in coffee shops are widely seen in new media by fellow users, friends and family, so that they attract a lot of interest from urban communities. This research uses qualitative methods and data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and field observations (coffee shops). The result of this research is that in the end each individual tries to produce interesting video and photo content in order to get comments, likes/dislikes in new media. Based on the results and discussion The presence of new media makes it possible for each user to be able to interact flexibly and produce content according to their abilities and wishes. The novelty of this research is that positive responses are a form of pride and happiness for those who post them on new media

Abstract

Famatörö Töi is a tradition of naming the first child in the Nias community that is passed down from generation to generation and contains cultural, social, and religious values. Previous studies generally discuss the practice of naming from the perspective of customary law, social identity, and social status, but studies on the Famatörö Töi tradition for the first child in the context of social change are still limited. The novelty of this research lies in the analysis of the symbolic meaning, implementation process, and changes in the Famatörö Töi tradition using George Herbert Mead's Symbolic Interactionism theory. This study aims to analyze the meaning, implementation, changes, and functions of the Famatörö Töi tradition in the lives of the Nias community in Botomuzöi District. The results show that Famatörö Töi is interpreted as a symbol of prayer, hope, respect for ancestors, and family identity. Its implementation includes family preparation (Mangowuloi Talifusö), name determination, naming procession, and expression of gratitude. Despite changes due to modernization, education, economic conditions, technological developments, and religion, this tradition remains intact and plays a role in strengthening kinship ties and strengthening the community's socio-religious identity. The method used was descriptive qualitative research, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
