Abstract

Schools largely contributes to community wastes. Waste management movements are required to reduce impacts of community wastes. Tombatu 1 State Highschool, Southwestern Minahasa is a well recognized school in the vicinity. Their large studentbody are the biggest contributors to community local wastes. Losida (biopore) is a simple solution for managing organic waste by convertion to beneficial compost soil restoration on school grounds. The purpose of this activity was simple biopore application and management by teachers and students as a manifestation of the P5 program. Through this activity knowledge and skills of the students as a steward of the environment were honed. This activity serves a media for disemination and training inspiring students to grow for their love of the environment. Also, a media for science application of involved lecturers, impacting the society outside of campus grounds in the efforts of achieving on of the institution’s performance indicators (IKU Perguruan Tinggi).

Abstract

In order to enhance the growth of gallus domesticus broiler chickens, sythetic and natural supplemantion are commonly added to the feed. This study was conducted to understand the impact of adding daluga (Cyrtosperma merkusii) starch processing debris (residuals) as supplements to the current feed towards the growth performances of the broilers. 60 one day old unisexed broiler Chickens were used in this study. The experiments carried out was conducted with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Feeding regiments were arranged with supplements of 0%, 0,065%, 0,13%, and 0,26% daluga debris. Observation was conducted for 45 days, and records of weight gain, final weight, cumulative consumption, and feed conversions were taken weekly. Results indicated that daluga debris supplementation (p<0,05) significantly effected the growth performances. Supplementation at 0,065% appeared to show the most optimum performance

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with a tropical climate so it has a large forest area. High rainfall and sufficient solar irradiation make the diversity of living things both flora and fauna very high. This study aims to identify and determine the level of diversity of forestry plants in the forest area of Manado State University, North Sulawesi. This research will be carried out in April - May 2023 in the forest area of Manado State University, North Sulawesi. Sampling in this study was carried out using the Purposive Sampling (Judgmental Sampling) technique with 9 plots in 3 observation stations. The results of the study found that in all sampling plots, there were 17 individuals of forestry plants with 9 species. The highest Important Value Index (IVI) belongs to the species Petrocarpus indicus with an IVI of 61%. The Shannon Winner diversity index H = 2.07 was found to be in the medium category.
