Abstract

This community service activity focuses on financial management mentoring and business feasibility analysis for the hydroponic greenhouse enterprise at Pesantren Suryalaya, Tasikmalaya. The approach used was participatory mentoring, in which the team worked directly with greenhouse managers to review and analyze the financial records of the first production cycle. The mentoring process covered cost structure analysis, cost of goods sold (COGS/HPP) calculation, investment amortization, and marketing channel evaluation. The analysis revealed that the cost structure in the first cycle was dominated by one-time infrastructure investment, while recurring operational costs per cycle were relatively manageable. Managers were assisted in understanding that profitability in subsequent cycles is highly dependent on operational cost efficiency and pricing strategy improvements. As an output, participants were able to prepare a structured financial report and understand the financial position of their enterprise more clearly. This activity contributes to strengthening financial management practices and the long-term sustainability of the pesantren-based hydroponic business.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of Indonesia's economy; however, most of them still rely on conventional marketing systems with limited reach. This community service activity aims to assist and empower MSME actors in Kuningan Regency in transforming their marketing from conventional to digital methods through a Community Empowerment approach. The methods used include: (1) initial MSME condition mapping, (2) intensive training and mentoring, and (3) continuous evaluation. This activity involved 45 MSME actors from 5 sub-districts in Kuningan Regency engaged in culinary, handicraft, and general trade sectors. The results showed a significant increase in MSME actors' understanding and ability in utilizing social media, marketplaces, and creating digital content. A total of 82% of participants successfully created active digital business accounts, 67% were able to create independent promotional content, and average revenue increased by 35% after three months of mentoring. The Community Empowerment approach proved effective because it positions the community as an active subject of transformation, not merely a training object. Program sustainability is ensured through the formation of a learning community among MSME actors that remains active after the activity.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the financial management capacity of the Nutrition Management Service Unit (SPPG) Tanjungkerta Suryalaya in managing budgets and operational costs of the Free Nutritious Meal Program. The partner faced several challenges, including the absence of systematic budgeting, inconsistent financial recordkeeping, and limited understanding of financial transparency and accountability. The program was implemented using a participatory approach consisting of socialization, financial management training, hands-on practice in budget preparation and simple financial recording, and evaluation. The training was conducted through face-to-face sessions involving core administrators, treasurers, and operational staff of SPPG. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in preparing activity-based budgets, recording daily financial transactions, and separating program finances from personal finances. In addition, the program produced supporting documents such as draft budgets, simple cash book formats, and basic financial report templates that can be sustainably applied. It can be concluded that this community service activity strengthens financial transparency and accountability and supports the sustainability of the Free Nutritious Meal Program as part of efforts to improve community nutrition services.
