Abstract

ABSTRACT               In practice, immunization is done on a scheduled basis, this is done to facilitate the delivery and as a control to detect children who drop out of basic immunization. This study aims to analyze the factors of drop out of basic immunization at Gondang Community Health Center.               This research uses analytic survey method with retrospective study approach. The population in this study is all mothers who have children aged 0-12 months in 2014. Samples were chosen by way of purposive sampling, obtained 48 respondents. Data analysis, editing, coding, scoring, tabulating and presented in tabular form.               The result of this research shows that the order of the factors most related to the immunization drop out at the Gondang Community Health Center is the attitude (contingency coeffisient = 0,00) and the knowledge (contingency coeffisient = 0,037). It was concluded that mother's knowledge and attitude were significantly related to the complete drop out of basic immunization, while education, occupation and economic status were not significantly related to the complete drop out of complete immunization.               To overcome the problem of complete drop out of basic immunization, active participation from health personnel (midwife) and mother is needed. For health workers, the delivery of information on immunization, the impact and timing of the implementation of immunization should always be delivered on an ongoing basis to the mother.  Keywords: Drop Out Basic Immunization, ChildrenDOI: 10.5281/zenodo.2629501

Abstract

Limited access to healthcare and health information has made Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia vulnerable to noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). This community service project aimed to improve community health literacy and preventive behavior through interactive health education, screening, and cadre empowerment in Bukit Sungai Putih, Lembah Jaya Utara, Selangor, Malaysia. The program applied a participatory approach combining community health education and direct screening for hypertension, diabetes, and metabolic risks. A total of 120 participants attended education sessions followed by individual counseling and basic health checks. Results indicated a significant improvement in health knowledge and awareness, as participants were able to identify risk factors and expressed willingness to perform regular self-monitoring. Post-activity interviews revealed an increased sense of responsibility toward adopting healthy lifestyles and sustaining community health cadres. This initiative highlights the importance of integrating education, local participation, and screening as an effective model to strengthen health literacy and disease prevention among immigrant populations.

Abstract

Academic anxiety can reduce concentration, impair working memory, and have a negative impact on academic performance. This study aims to synthesise the scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of Chewing Gum Distraction (CGD) and Slow Deep Breathing (SDB) in reducing academic anxiety using the Roy Adaptation Model (RAM) framework. This study employed a literature review method with a systematic search across five international scientific databases Scopus, PubMed/MEDLINE, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, and Google Scholar for publications from 2019 to 2025. The included articles were primary studies with a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT), quasi-experimental, or experimental design investigating the CGD or SDB interventions on academic anxiety or stress among university students. A total of six articles met the inclusion criteria and were analysed thematically. The results of the review indicate that both interventions consistently reduced anxiety or stress levels significantly (p < 0.05). CGD operates through cognitive regulation by reducing rumination and modulating attention, whilst SDB operates through physiological regulation by increasing parasympathetic activity and autonomic stability. The combination of these two interventions has the potential to serve as an effective psychophysiological adaptation strategy for reducing students’ academic anxiety.
