Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the use of gamification in increasing students’ inquisitive ability on chemistry material with project based learning approach. In this research, an analysis of students' inquisitive ability will be carried out which consists of three indicators, namely wondering and questioning, exploring and investigating, and challenging assumption. The research was carried out using a classroom action research approach consisting of 3 cycles, where research data was collected by giving a questionnaire consisting of 4 statements for each indicator with 5 options for each research instrument. Apart from the questionnaire method, research data was collected through random interviews and structured observation. Based on data analysis, students' inquisitive ability was highest in the wondering and questioning indicator at 83.68 in cycle 3. Meanwhile, students' inquisitive ability was lowest in the challenging assumptions indicator at 41.25 in cycle 1. In general, gamification activities were able to increase students' inquisitive ability between 9% - 50%.

Abstract

In the era of technology that continues to develop rapidly, students' needs for technology-based chemistry learning media are increasingly urgent. However, it cannot be denied that local wisdom also plays an important role in education. This research aims to analyze the needs of SMA MIPA students in Sitaro Regency for chemistry learning media based on technology and local wisdom. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The results of data analysis show that the average score for all statement items is 3.99 on a Likert scale (maximum score 5), meaning that students generally agree with the use of learning media based on local wisdom. Further analysis shows that there is a significant difference (sig 0.05) in the perceptions of female and male students. Female students have a higher perception regarding the importance of using learning media based on local wisdom in learning chemistry. Likewise, students in classes X, XI, and XII showed differences in student perceptions (sig 0.05). Class XII students (4.01) have a higher perception than class XI students (3.98) and class X (3.97). Based on this research, it was concluded that SMA MIPA students in Sitaro Regency need chemistry learning media based on local wisdom.

Abstract

The socialization activity of the use of character aromatherapy candle molding is intended as an effort to stimulate the entrepreneurial activities of ABK in the context of providing options for economically valuable products that can be marketed on digital platforms. The participants of the activity numbered 25 people consisting of 17 ABK students, 8 educators and education personnel, which was carried out at SLB B-C Bina Karya Insani, Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta. The form of activity is in the form of socialization of the essence of entrepreneurship and socialization of the use of character aromatherapy candle molding in the context of producing specific products that have economic value and are worthy of being marketed on digital platforms. In the socialization process, random interviews were conducted with participants regarding their responses to the essence of entrepreneurial activities and the contribution of character aromatherapy candle molding. Based on the interview data, 61.11% of ABK students think that entrepreneurial activities are very important activities for them to do. 77.78% of ABK students think that the product is very suitable to be used as one of the product options that can be marketed on digital platforms, while 100% of educators and education personnel think that character aromatherapy candles are very suitable to be used as one of the entrepreneurial products that can be marketed on digital platforms. In the context of optimizing the use of molding, structured and continuous socialization and training are needed so that the contribution of molding can be increased.
