Abstract

The proliferation of narcotics issues in Indonesia has grown increasingly complex, impacting social security and national resilience. The substantial profit from the narcotics trade presents opportunities as a financing avenue for acts and terrorist groups. The integration of narcotics trade with illicit activities creates the potential for connection and convergence between drug trafficking criminal organizations and terrorist organizations, as known as narcoterrorism. Despite the forthcoming demographic bonus in Indonesia, the younger generation is overshadowed by radical ideologies, and the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics, which could jeopardize the quality of the demographic bonus. Therefore, there is a perceived need to securitize the threat of narcoterrorism, which poses a vulnerability as a threat to the future younger generation. This research aim to analyze the phenomenon of narcoterrorism as a potential threat to the demographic bonus in Indonesia within the framework of national resilience securitization. This study employs qualitative methodology with a literature review approach. The result indicate that government efforts to address terrorism threats and narcotics crimes are disjointed, resulting in suboptimal securitization efforts concerning the narcoterrorism threat. Consequently, there is a necessity for the development of measures related to narcoterrorism, particularly in terms of more specific regulations and policies.

Abstract

National resilience requires a mature political system and democracy. One of the indicators of good democratic development is pluralism and political participation. A healthy democracy undoubtedly ensures that all parties can participate fairly in politics. The social diversity present in Indonesia allows for the politicization of a social identity for the sake of winning political contests, which is feared to become a source of conflict threatening our national resilience through security instability. The impact of identity politics was strongly felt during the gubernatorial election in Jakarta a few years ago. Indonesia is certainly undergoing democratic maturity and does not wish for such events to be repeated in the upcoming 2024 presidential election contest. This writing will describe the potential use of identity politics in the 2024 presidential election. By conducting a literacy study from various sources, the authors will analyze the possibilities related to the use of social identity as a campaign tool in the 2024 presidential election by the contestants and the potential for conflicts that may arise.

Abstract

Resilience has emerged as a central theme in urban planning, offering a strategic framework to manage city development while promoting sustainability. This is particularly important for Jakarta as it ranks among the world's significant cities highly susceptible to diverse challenges and disruptions. This includes vulnerability to drug crime cases. As one of the efforts to overcome vulnerability, it is necessary to analyze drug-prone areas in Jakarta based on urban villages. The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial distribution of drug-prone areas in Jakarta using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and to analyze the role of factors determining the level of drug-prone areas in Jakarta province by applying an ordinal logit regression model. The results of this research show that almost all independent variables have no significant impact on the level of drug-prone areas. The result shows that the presence of foreigners has a significant impact on the level drug prone areas. The research findings recommend tighter monitoring of the presence of foreigners.
