Abstract

This study aims to improve household financial literacy through simple financial management education for the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) group in Tawang Hamlet, Samirono Village, Getasan District, Semarang Regency, emphasizing the link between financial education and community empowerment. The research method was implemented in three stages: an initial survey, educational program implementation, and post-activity evaluation. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding of the basic concepts of financial literacy, their ability to prepare a monthly budget using the 50/30/20 method, and behavioral changes towards more rational and wise financial management. The active participation and high enthusiasm of PKK members are indicators of the program's success, which not only improves individual capacity but also strengthens social cohesion and supports the community empowerment process. However, this study is still limited to a local scale with a relatively small number of participants, so further research with a wider scope and sample is needed to strengthen the generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

This research explores the optimization of brochures as a visual communication medium to revitalize the branding of Samirono Village as an environmentally-based edu-tourism destination. Samirono Village, located in Getasan District, Semarang Regency, holds significant potential in edu-tourism focused on waste management and the transformation of animal waste into creative products. However, the identity of this edu-tourism initiative has not been fully developed due to the lack of visual media-based promotional strategies, including the absence of brochures that effectively convey the village’s educational values. Through an educational-participatory approach involving the local community and village administrators, this initiative aims to design brochures that are both informative and aesthetically appealing. The implementation stages include field studies, digital design seminars, brochure design, and finalization. As a result, a new brochure was successfully created with a more professional design, comprehensive information structure, and visuals aligned with the village’s character as an “Energy Independent Village.” This updated edition of the brochure serves not only as a promotional tool but also integrates aspects of branding, education, and the local creative economy.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) is a concrete implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in community engagement. This study aims to improve household financial literacy through simple financial management education for the PKK women’s group in Tawang Hamlet, Samirono Village, Getasan District, Semarang Regency. The method consisted of three stages: initial survey, program implementation in the form of financial literacy workshops, and post-activity evaluation. The results indicate an increased understanding of basic financial literacy concepts, enhanced skills in preparing monthly budgets using the 50/30/20 method, and behavioral changes toward more rational and prudent financial management. The active participation and high enthusiasm of the PKK members served as strong indicators of the program’s success. Furthermore, the program fostered social cohesion and supported broader community empowerment. Therefore, simple financial management education can be recommended as a sustainable strategy to strengthen household welfare and promote economic independence.

Abstract

MSMEs in Karangtengah Village, Tuntang, have not yet maximized Google Maps for digital promotion, limiting their online visibility. This program addressed the issue through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving 40 MSMEs in observation, training, mentoring, and evaluation activities. As a result, verified Google Maps profiles increased from 7 to 39, while participants’ average knowledge improved by 58%. The findings highlight the program’s contribution to strengthening MSMEs’ digital capabilities and promotional visibility.
