Abstract

Abstract

Loading and unloading efficiency is a critical aspect of ship operations, which has a significant impact on operational costs, customer satisfaction, and the competitiveness of shipping companies. The Cargo Control Room (CCR) acts as a control center that optimizes the loading and unloading process through integrated technology and systems. However, the operation of CCR faces various challenges, such as technical issues, coordination between parties, and limited human resources (HR). This study aims to analyze the optimization strategy of CCR operations to improve the efficiency of loading and unloading on ships. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a literature study approach, collecting data from journal articles, books, and related technical reports. The results show that CCR optimization can be achieved through the use of the latest technology such as automation, Internet of Things (IoT), and real-time monitoring systems, human resource training and development, and improved coordination between departments. The impact of this optimization includes reduced loading and unloading times, minimization of errors and operational risks, and an increase in overall productivity. The conclusion of this study confirms that technology integration, improvement of human resource competence, and good coordination are key factors in optimizing the operation of CCR. This study recommends the need for further empirical research to test the findings of literature studies as well as the implementation of technology and continuous training for CCR operators.

Abstract

Occupational safety in the maritime industry, particularly in pipeline work on ships, is critical given the risks faced due to harsh working conditions and an uncertain environment. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to identify and analyze the safety practices implemented, including effective mitigation measures such as hazardous material replacement and the application of monitoring technologies. The results show that systematic risk identification and active involvement of workers in the safety process are key to building a strong safety culture. However, the challenges faced, such as environmental conditions and diverse worker backgrounds, can hinder the implementation of safety procedures. The conclusions of this study emphasize the importance of management's commitment to safety practices and the need for continuous evaluation and updating of procedures. Suggestions for further research include the development of a more structured training program and the exploration of the use of modern technology in safety management. Thus, investment in safety technology and proper training can improve the effectiveness of occupational safety and reduce the risk of accidents in the maritime industry.

Abstract

The Management Trainee Program at Itikad Academy is a step to achieve a competitive advantage in the insurance industry. The background of this research underscores the importance of developing competent human resources in facing the challenges of the ever-evolving insurance market. This study evaluates the extent to which the teaching staff meets the competency standards required by the industry and whether the quality of teaching can be a competitive advantage for Itikad Academy. The results of the study showed that the training programs were successfully organized to provide high-quality teaching, with the teachers being mostly active practitioners in the insurance industry. Evaluations from participants showed good pedagogical and professional averages, although some teachers still needed improvement in pedagogical skills. The discussion emphasized the need for continuous development for teachers and curriculum adjustments to remain relevant to industry needs. The conclusion of this study is that even though Itikad Academy has qualified teaching staff, there is still room for improvement in order to achieve a more significant competitive advantage. Therefore, it is recommended that management conduct additional training for teachers and update the curriculum regularly. With these measures, Itikad Academy can maintain and increase its competitiveness in the insurance training institution market.
