Abstract

Kesadaran masyarakat untuk peduli terhadap pengelolaan sampah harus terus ditingkatkan. Kesadaran akan tumbuh dimulai dari pengetahuan yang baik tentang bagaimana seharusnya sampah diperlakukan dan dampaknya. Pengelolaan sampah yang baik dan benar menjadi salah satu modal dasar untuk mewujudkan kesehatan di masyarakat. Pelajar menjadi salah satu komponen masyarakat yang perlu diberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman serta sekaligus diberikan contoh implementasinya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kampanye edukasi dan pemahaman tentang pengelolaan sampah sekaligus melakukan pendampingan implementasinya yang salah satunya adalah kegiatan bank sampah sekolah. Sasaran dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pelajar di Kota Samarinda. Keberadaan bank sampah sekolah juga menjadi sarana untuk mewujudkan circular economy pengelolaan sampah sekaligus menumbuhkan semangat kewirausahaan para pelajar. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian akan dilaksanakan di sekolah yang terpilih. Metode pengabdian edukasi ini dilakukan melalui tatap muka langsung melalui metode presentasi dan permainan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan pengelolaan sampah yang baik dan benar serta meningkatkan perilaku hidup sehat pelajar di lingkungan sekolah sehingga terwujud lingkungan yang sehat untuk mencapai tujuan target global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)

Abstract

Street food, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (2019), is food and beverages served in containers sold on the side of the road or other places, which have been prepared or cooked at home or at the place of sale. Problems related to the use of food additives are one component of various nutritional problems in society, in addition to problems related to food shortages, poor handling, and processing. With the increasing enthusiasm of producers in producing food products that have high selling value, the use of food additives has increased. Research Objective. This study aims to identify the content of hazardous food additives (formalin, methanyl yellow, borax, rhodamine, and coliform bacteria contamination) in fast food around the Taman Cerdas area. Methods. This type of research is quantitative, using a pre-research design, the one-shot case study, with an analytic approach. The samples in this study were pentol, yellow wet noodles, otak-otak, and sauce sold in the Smart Park area of Samarinda City. Results. After observing 8 samples of snacks from physical quality, namely color, texture, and aroma, and the results of chemical quality tests, the results of the snacks were safe for consumption, while the results of the microbiological test found 7 samples of snacks were contaminated with coliform bacteria and 1 sample of snacks was not contaminated with coliform bacteria. Conclusion. Snacks in the Smart Park area of Samarinda City are physically and chemically safe because they do not contain hazardous materials. However, microbiological test results showed that 7 out of 8 samples were contaminated with coliform bacteria. This condition makes snacks not meet the standards of PMK No. 2 of 2023 and is at risk of causing digestive diseases, so it is hoped that the results of this study can be followed up by traders to maintain the importance of sanitation in serving snacks so that the snacks avoid contamination with coliform bacteria. Abstract

Sampah merupakan hasil sisa kegiatan manusia yang berbentuk padat. Keberadaan sampah berpotensi berbanding lurus dengan pertambahan jumlah penduduk. Beberapa kota di Indonesia mengalami tantangan dalam melakukan pengelolaan sampah yang semakin hari semakin meningkat. Permasalahan sampah bukan lagi menjadi sekedar masalah kebersihan dan lingkungan saja, tetapi sudah menjadi masalah sosial yang mampu menimbulkan konflik sosial. Tujuan dari penelitain ini adalah melakukan identifikasi dan analisis kesiapan strategi pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga dan sampah sejenis sampah rumah tangga di Kota Samarinda. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi dengan informan yang dipilih secara purposive sampling dengan kriteria keterkaitan dengan pengelolaan sampah di Kota Samarinda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kota Samarinda telah melaksanakan pengelolaan sampah melalui penyediaan infrastruktur teknis dan kelengkapan non teknis termasuk regulasi, kelembagaan dan peran serta masayrakat. Untuk meningkatkan pelayanan pengelolaan sampah diusulkan kebijakan dan strategi pengelolaan sampah perkotaan melalui beberapa program dan kegiatan baik dalam upaya pengurangan sampah dan penanganan sampah. Dalam penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi bagian referensi bagi berbagai pihak terkait dalam pengelolaan sampah untuk selanjutnya berkolaborasi dalam mewujudkan pengelolaan sampah perkotaan yang terintegrasi dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Suryani, Rinda. Analysis of the Potential Application of the 3R Method in Kampung Sebelang, Muara Pahu District, West Kutai Regency in 2022, under the guidance of Apriyani, SKM, MPH as advisor I and Iwan Harwidian Maharisma, S.Pi, M.Si as advisor II. Waste is one of the environmental problems that require serious attention. The existence of household waste in an environment is due to waste management which is still dominated by the system of collecting, transporting the waste, and disposing of to the final processing site (TPA), the purpose of this study is to analyze the behavior of the people of Kampung Sebelang in household waste management, analyze the application of the concept of household waste management with the 3R method in Kampung Sebelang and analyze the role of Puskesmas (Public Health) in carrying out guidance and supervision of garbage management in Kampung Sebelang. The qualitative Research Method is a research method carried out with the main objective purpose of providing an overview or description of a situation or phenomenon objectively through in-depth interviews with 15 informants, 3 Key Informants, namely 2 Implementing Sanitarians and 1 DLH, 3 RT Chairman and 9 people of Kampung Sebelang. The results of the study describe the condition of waste management carried out by the community in Kampung Sebelang through being burned, thrown in rivers, stockpiled, and becoming animal feed. To develop environmentally friendly waste management, the people of Kampung Sebelang are interested in being able to apply the concept of waste management with the 3R method. Puskesmas as part of the government has a role in educating and assisting as well as supervising in realizing environmentally friendly waste management with a 3R method.
