Abstract

In daily life, the emergence of conflicts is common because each individual has different interests, goals, or opinions. When these interests, goals, or opinions do not align with each other, conflicts arise. Similarly, in family life, conflicts often occur among family members engaged in debates, quarrels, disputes, or arguments about various matters. This study aims to describe the forms of family conflicts found in the novel 00.00 by Ameylia Falensia. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study consist of quotations from the content of the novel 00.00 by Ameylia Falensia that depict family conflicts through character interactions. Data collection techniques used in this study include library research, observation, and note-taking. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques and employing a literary sociology approach. The data are presented in narrative form as each data is described based on the research findings. From the results of the study, various forms of family conflicts were found in the novel 00.00 by Ameylia Falensia. These forms of family conflict include: conflicts with parents consisting of conflicts between children and fathers and conflicts between children and mothers; conflicts with one's own children consisting of conflicts between fathers and children and mothers and children; conflicts with relatives consisting of conflicts between sisters and brothers, conflicts among sisters, and conflicts among brothers; conflicts between husbands and wives.

Abstract

Tinjauan sosiologi sastra dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menganalisis hubungan sosial yang terdapat dalam masyarakat sebagaimana digambarkan dalam novel. Penelitian ini berfokus pada novel Tambelo Kembalinya Si Burung Camar karya Redhite Kurniawan dengan aspek sosial sebagai objek kajian sosiologi sastra. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan aspek sosial yang terkandung dalam novel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian diambil dari dokumen berupa novel Tambelo Kembalinya Si Burung Camar karya Redhite Kurniawan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui analisis konten dengan cara membaca dan mencatat. Keabsahan data diperiksa menggunakan triangulasi teori. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan tinjauan sosiologi sastra serta metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif yang dikembangkan oleh Sugiyono. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek sosial yang ditemukan dalam novel meliputi enam kategori utama, yaitu: 1) aspek sosial ekonomi dengan 6 data, 2) aspek sosial politik dengan 5 data, 3) aspek sosial pendidikan dengan 8 data, 4) aspek sosial religi dengan 7 data, 5) aspek sosial budaya dengan 7 data, dan 6) aspek sosial kemasyarakatan dengan 8 data.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of moral values in everyday life. Moral values aim to shape human character or morals into a good person. This study aims to describe the moral values contained in the novel Ning Anak Wayang by Niken and Anjar study: Sociology of Literature. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that researchers use the theory according to Wicaksono (2014: 276-281) which states that moral values consist of several sub-values, namely: the relationship between humans and their God, the relationship between humans and themselves, and the relationship between humans and other humans in the social sphere.

Abstract

As an intangible cultural heritage, North Sumatran folktales embody noble values that have yet to be systematically mapped in academic studies. This research aims to identify and analyze the cultural values embedded in a collection of North Sumatran folktales by Bambang Suwondo through a literary anthropology approach. A descriptive qualitative method was employed using literature study techniques. The data, consisting of narrative excerpts and dialogues, were analyzed using a semiotic-anthropological reading technique that identifies symbols, metaphors, and narrative patterns representing cultural values. The findings categorize cultural values into three main areas: (1) human relationships with society (mutual cooperation, wisdom, justice, deliberation); (2) human relationships with others (helpfulness, affection, obedience, compassion); and (3) human relationships with oneself (responsibility, perseverance, honesty, hard work). These findings affirm that North Sumatran folktales function not only as entertainment but also as a medium for the transmission of cultural values essential to character and identity formation, thereby holding strong relevance for character education among younger generations

Abstract

Literature is a representation of life’s realities conveyed through the imagination of the author. As one form of literary work, the novel not only presents a narrative but also reflects perspectives on social conditions, including the image of women. This study aims to examine the image of women in the novel Perempuan Bayangan by Netty Vergiantini, focusing on the main character, Ningrum. The study employs feminist literary theory and a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the data. The analysis centers on three main aspects of the female image: physical, psychological, and social. (1) The physical image includes descriptions of the character’s body and appearance. (2) The psychological image reflects the character’s mental state, emotions, and way of thinking. (3) Meanwhile, the social image is seen through the character’s position in society and her relationship with the surrounding environment. The results show that these three aspects are interconnected in shaping the portrayal of the female image in the novel. This study is expected to contribute to feminist literary studies and serve as a reference for future research on the representation of women in literary works. Abstract

Literary works, especially novels, reflect the values of life and can be a medium for reflecting social conditions. This research aims to describe the values of the main character's struggle in the novel Home Sweet Loan by Almira Bastari. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data and data sources of this research are in the form of words, quotations from the text contained in the novel Home Sweet Loan by Almira Bastari, fourth printing, 2023 published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama Publisher with a total of 312 pages. The data collection technique is done through literature study (read, listen, and note). Data analysis techniques include; identifying and processing data, reduction, and conclusion drawing based on Joyomartono's 1990 struggle value theory. The results of this study show five values of the main character's struggle, namely: (1) the value of sacrifice; (2) the value of patience; (3) the value of cooperation; (4) the value of never giving up, and (5) the value of respect. Based on the results of the study, the values of struggle in the novel Home Sweet Loan by Almira Bastari can provide a new understanding in analyzing the values of struggle in Indonesian literature with a different thematic context, provide a more specific focus, and a new perspective through different analysis for readers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguak bagaimana cinta dikonstruksikan dan diinterpretasikan dalam novel, serta pengaruhnya terhadap perilaku dan emosi tokoh. Cinta, sebuah emosi manusia yang kompleks dan penuh misteri, telah lama menjadi tema sentral dalam berbagai karya sastra, termasuk novel. Konsep cinta didefinisikan sebagai suatu perasaan yang melibatkan keintiman, gairah, dan komitmen. Dari interpretasi komponen cinta, menghasilkan sebuah konsep yang disebut dengan jenis-jenis cinta. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan mengenai komponen cinta dan jenis-jenis cinta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Psikologi Sastra yang merujuk pada Psikologi Cinta Robert J. Sternberg. Untuk mengumpulkan data digunakan teknik membaca-mencatat dan analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para tokoh dalam Novel Segi Tiga karya Sapardi Djoko Damono memiliki komponen keintiman, hasrat, dan keputusan/komitmen. Dari kombinasi ketiga komponen tersebut dapat menghasilkan tiga jenis cinta yang terdapat pada tiga hubungan yang telah diteliti. Jenis cintanya meliputi rasa suka, cinta romantis, dan cinta sejati, yang ada pada buku Robert J. Sternberg.
