Abstract

Research on the effect of pH,mineral and hydrolloid addition on the syneresis index of green cincau (Premna oblongifolia merr).Gel had been conducted. The objective of this research was to minimize get syneresis in order to prolong its stability so three will be a possibility of producing green cincau get in plastic cup.The result of this research indicated that get obtained by adding pectin could maintain its stability for one month an insignificant effect of syneresis and it had in natural taste. The more pectin added stronger was the gel texture but the taste turned to sour.Applying of 0.2% pectin produced green cincau gel having the best stability of one month strorage at room temperature without sour taste.

Abstract

As raw material of nutmeg oil industry, commercial dry nutmeg seed can be classified into three grades, which are bejo, polong and old nutmeg seed. Research on the effect of grade and particle size of dry nutmeg seed on the yield and quality of the nutmeg oil has been carried out. This research consist of two steps which are pre-research and main research. The pre-research were choosing the optimum distillation time and analysis of nutmeg seed. The main research carried out using distillation time of 10 hours, particle size of 6 mm, 8mm, 10mm, and three grades of nutmeg seed. This research used factorial completed randomized design with two replications. The best treatment of this research were were distillation of bejo nutmeg seed and particle size of 10 mm, with the yield of nutmeg oil is 19,58% (w/w) and physico-chemical properties as follows : specific gravity (25 C) is 0.881, refractive index (20 C) is 1.476, optical rotation is (+) 19.50, solubility in 95 percent alcohol is 1:0.9, evaporation residue was 0.55%, acid value is 0.87, and ester value is 7.45.

Abstract

Triglicoside, phenol and delphinidine are compounds, which is found in the telangs flower(Clitoria ternateaL.) Telangs flower usually used by the local people as traditional medicinal plant for eyes conjungtivitis desease caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The aim of the study is to know the effectivity of telangs flower on conjungtivitis. The preparate of the extracts was prepared by maseration of 1,3 and 5%of telangs flower using 100ml aquabidest for 24 hours. The extract was then freeze dried at-15C. The extract obtained was analised by Thin layer chromatography (TLC) using two types of eluent  (butanol: asetic acid: water = 4: 4: 2) and eluent (chioroform: methanol =9:1).The spots were obserbed visually under ultraviolet ray at 254 nm and the spots were scrape of, then disolve in 10ml of aquabidest. The extract then tested by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria using the paper diffusion method. The results show that the extract of telangs flower 1% contains 0.014% of delphinide, 0.020% phenol, and 3% extract were 0.016% of delphinidine, 0.022% phenol, and 5% extract were 0.017% of delphinedine, and 0.026% of phenol. The phenol compound 0.026%showed an inhibition areas of 0.87mm as antibacterial while delphinedine is just a blue pigment of telangs flower.
