Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of Internet of Things technologies in water quality monitoring and waste management to meet environmental standards in the pharmaceutical industry of West Java, Indonesia. The quantitative approach was used in this study. Data were collected from 55 pharmaceutical companies through a survey using a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. Data analysis was done using SPSS version 25. There is a positive correlation between IoT implementation in both water quality monitoring and waste management regarding environmental standards. The firms in which an IoT system was implemented outperformed others in terms of satisfaction of regulatory requirements concerning water quality and waste disposal. It also established the combined effect of IoT in both the domains on overall environmental performance. These findings reflect that IoT technologies have the potential to significantly enhance the contribution of the pharmaceutical industry towards adhering to environmental standards and sustainable development.

Abstract

The development of information technology and the digitalization of higher education demand a more efficient, flexible, and secure network infrastructure. Software Defined Networking (SDN) offers a new paradigm in network management by separating the control plane and data plane, enabling more centralized and adaptive network management. This study aims to analyze the implementation of SDN in campus networks, specifically at Ichsan Sidenreng Rappang University, and identify its benefits, challenges, and implementation strategies. The method used is a systematic literature review of 15 scientific publications from 2020-2025 that discuss the implementation of SDN in the context of campus networks. The results show that SDN provides significant network performance improvements, with a decrease in latency from 37.7 ms to 18 ms, jitter from 40.3 ms to 2.7 ms, and an increase in throughput from 95 Mbps to 98.2 Mbps compared to conventional networks. SDN also increases flexibility through centralized management and automation, strengthens security with adaptive firewall integration, and improves service redundancy and availability. Key implementation challenges include the need for human resource training, the development of comprehensive security policies, and testing on more complex topologies. This study concludes that implementing SDN on campus networks is strategic for supporting the digitalization of higher education, with recommendations for thorough planning, ongoing human resource training, and the development of policies that holistically integrate technical and security aspects.

Abstract

Background. The use of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Ubiquitous Learning in higher education is increasingly important along with the development of 21st century internet technology. Reliance on the internet for information creates a new paradigm in learning, where IoT plays a key role supporting an equitable and integrated learning experience. Universities as centers of higher education need to adopt solutions using IoT technology to overcome problems in the context of Ubiquitous Learning. Purpose. The purpose of this research is to identify solutions that can be adopted by universities to overcome Internet of Things problems in the context of Ubiquitous Learning. Method. This research uses a quantitative methodology with a survey method approach. A total of 30 students were randomly selected as samples to provide adequate representation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles Huberman technique, involving the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. A questionnaire was developed to explore students’ perceptions and experiences regarding the use of IoT in the learning process. Results. From the analysis results, the majority of students show a good understanding of IoT concepts and are actively involved in learning using this technology. Although some face obstacles, the majority of respondents believe that the use of IoT can increase learning effectiveness and really hope that there will be increased student engagement through IoT technology. These results provide a strong basis for developing better implementation strategies, encouraging universities to continue to innovate in integrating IoT technology to improve student learning experiences in the future.   Conclusion. Universities are advised to continue to innovate, integrating IoT strategically to improve the student learning experience. This shows the significant impact of IoT in designing the future of learning in higher education.

Abstract

Effective inventory management is crucial for retail operations like Toko Karya Rappang, an office stationery and printing business. The shop faces challenges in managing 163 active products due to manual logbook recording, which causes data errors, delayed stock monitoring, reporting difficulties, and late stock replenishment. This research designs a cloud-native mobile inventory management system using Flutter and Appwrite as Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS). Developed via the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method for speed and flexibility, the system supports two user roles (owner and staff). Key features include incoming/outgoing goods tracking, real-time stock monitoring, low-stock notifications, and visual sales reports. System evaluation utilized White Box, Black Box, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). White Box testing yielded low Cyclomatic Complexity scores (3 to 5), indicating minimal logical risk. Furthermore, the UAT involving 10 respondents achieved an 86.17% feasibility score, placing it in the "Good" category. The system is proven to function effectively, enhance accuracy, improve inventory efficiency, and serve as a viable reference for small and medium retail businesses.
