Abstract

One of the sciences, technologies and arts that is in line with the demands of the times and demands in the industrial world, is technical drawing using the AutoCAD program. Based on the specific objectives of Vocational Secondary Education (SMK) according to Law No. 20 of 2003 it is necessary to carry out AutoCAD training for vocational school students.. The methods used in this community service are teaching and practice methods. The result of community service is that partners gain a level of understanding in AutoCAD theory as well as the use of AutoCAD applications in building structures. This can be seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test with the value from 35% to 65% after the introduction and training of AutoCAD.

Abstract

Increasing demand for ecologically friendly construction materials has promoted the use of renewable additives in concrete systems. This study investigates the influence of liquid natural rubber latex on the mechanical properties and water–cement interaction of conventional concrete with a focus on the environmental impact. Concrete mixtures were made using 0%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% by volume of latex. Compressive and flexural strength tests were performed at 28 days to evaluate structural performance. The results show that increasing the latex content consistently decreases mechanical characteristics. Compressive strength dropped by roughly 10%, 18% and 26% and flexural strength reduced by 8%, 14% and 20% with 5%, 7.5% and 10% latex additions accordingly. This behavior is related to the involvement of latex as an extra fluid phase which affects the effective water–cement ratio, modifies hydration and leads to increased porosity and weaker bonding within the concrete matrix. From an environmental perspective, natural rubber latex provides advantages as a renewable and biodegradable resource that can lessen dependence on synthetic admixtures. However, the decline in mechanical performance suggests potential trade-offs, including reduced durability and greater material demand over the service life. The results imply that the latex application in concrete should be carefully regulated or supplemented with stabilizing materials to attain the best results. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the necessity to reconcile environmental benefits and engineering needs in the development of bio-based construction materials, especially in tropical settings.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a fundamental competency that should be developed among students to enable them to adapt to the evolving learning environment in the digital era. Nevertheless, students' competence in producing scientific papers still requires significant improvement. In addition, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a supporting tool in the learning process has not yet been optimally implemented. This community service program aimed to enhance students' scientific literacy at SMA Negeri 1 Mranggen through AI-assisted training in scientific writing and to introduce the ethical use of digital technology in academic writing. The program was implemented through several stages, including the delivery of instructional materials, demonstrations of AI applications, interactive discussions, hands-on scientific writing practice, and learning outcome assessments using pre-tests and post-tests. A total of 60 students from SMA Negeri 1 Mranggen participated in the program. The analysis of learning outcomes revealed that the participants' average score increased from 52.73 before the training to 91.73 after the training. Furthermore, the calculated N-Gain value of 0.825 indicates a high level of improvement. These findings demonstrate that the training was effective in improving students' understanding of the structure of scientific papers, the use of AI as a writing support tool, and scientific literacy in general. The integration of AI technology into scientific writing training has the potential to become an innovative instructional approach for strengthening students' academic competencies in the digital era. The outcomes of this program help accelerate the adoption of digital technology in schools while encouraging the educational community to use AI ethically.
