Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work environment and interpersonal communication on employee job satisfaction at the Office of Education and Culture (DISDIKBUD) of East Kalimantan Province. The problems raised include whether the work environment and interpersonal communication have a significant effect on employee job satisfaction, both individually and simultaneously. The research method used is a quantitative approach with data collection through a survey involving 71 respondents of DISDIKBUD employees. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression statistical tests to determine the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable. The results showed that work environment and interpersonal communication have a significant influence on employee job satisfaction. Statistical tests indicate that both variables, both individually and simultaneously have a significant impact on job satisfaction. The coefficient of determination and the correlation coefficient indicate that variations in job satisfaction can be explained by both variables and show a strong relationship between the independent and dependent variables.

Abstract

The effect of reward and punishment on employee performance at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the influence of reward and punishment on employee performance at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda. Based on observations, SD Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda has a phenomenon related to the reward and punishment system which can be categorized as unclear and often neglected. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of reward and punishment on employee performance at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda. The research method used is the quantitative research method. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. Reward is an award that aims to encourage someone to be more diligent in their efforts to improve or increase the achievements they have achieved. Meanwhile, punishment is the provision of punishment to employees who do not act according to applicable rules. The results of the study stated: (1) The reward variable has a positive and significant effect worth 0.013 < 0.05 on employee performance, (2) The punishment variable has a positive and significant effect worth 0.017 < 0.05 on employee performance, (3) The reward and punishment variables simultaneously have a significant effect worth 0.000 < 0.005 on the performance of employees of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Samarinda.

Abstract

Background Many students struggle to understand complex academic material, which negatively impacts their academic performance Purpose This study aims to examine the influence of psychomotor and cognitive aspects on the academic achievement of management students at Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan. Design/method/approach This study uses a quantitative research design. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed directly to the selected students, as well as documentation of their academic records. The sample of 180 students was determined using the Slovin formula and selected by random sampling from a total population of 328 students. The collected data were analyzed statistically using SPSS 27 software, employing classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing to assess the relationship between cognitive factors and academic achievement. Results The analysis revealed that cognitive aspects have a significant positive influence on the academic achievement of eighth-semester management students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur. Students who demonstrated stronger cognitive skills—such as critical thinking, understanding, and the ability to analyze material—tended to achieve higher academic performance, as reflected in their GPA and other academic indicators. The statistical results from multiple linear regression showed that the cognitive variable contributed meaningfully to variations in students’ academic success. These findings suggest that efforts to enhance cognitive abilities among students can lead to improved academic outcomes in higher education settings. Contribution/value This study provides valuable insight into the specific role of cognitive aspects in shaping academic achievement among eighth-semester management students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur. The findings offer practical recommendations for educators to design learning strategies that better support students’ cognitive growth.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of cognitive aspects on students' academic achievement. Cognitive aspects include the ability to think, understand, remember, analyze, and apply knowledge in the learning process. The research employs a quantitative approach, with a population consisting of 328 eighth-semester students from the Management undergraduate program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur. A sample of 180 respondents was selected using random sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires and academic records (GPA). The data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results indicate that cognitive aspects have a positive and significant effect on students' academic achievement. These findings highlight the importance of developing cognitive abilities to support academic success in higher education.

Abstract

Pengaruh Gaya Kepemimpinan Transfromasional Dan Lingkungan Kerja Terhadap Kepuasan Kerja Pegawai Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap kepuasan kerja dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kepuasan kerja pegawai Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian ini juga dilakukan dengan menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner angket secara langsung pada pegawai sehingga sangat efektif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah sejumlah 86 pegawai Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Sampel ditentukan dengan sampling jenuh atau sensus untuk mengidentifikasi sampel dengan sasaran pegawai Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Provinsi Kalimantan Timur jumlah sebanyak 71 responden. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam uji instrumen penelitian, uji asumsi klasik, uji regresi linier berganda dan uji hipotesis dengan bantuan SPSS 27.0 untuk mengalisis data. Penelitian ini digunakan menggunakan teori manajemen sumber daya manusia. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan transformasional (X1) secara parsial berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja (Y), dan lingkungan kerja (X2) secara parsial berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja (Y), dan gaya kepemimpinan transformasional (X1) dan lingkungan kerja (X2) berpengaruh secara simultan signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja (Y)
