Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact worldwide, affecting various aspects of life. One prominent group affected by these circumstances are homemakers"”usually women"”who bear substantial domestic responsibilities, including childcare, household chores, and family caregiving. The multitude of challenges they face can have implications for their mental well-being. This study aims to ascertain the levels of depression, anxiety, and stress among homemakers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data collection employed the DASS-42 scale, a validated tool for measuring depression, anxiety, and stress. The study participants consisted of 88 homemakers with children. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis. Results indicated that a percentage of homemakers experienced normal levels of depression (28.41%), anxiety (14.77%), and stress (37.5%). Additionally, varying degrees of depression, anxiety, and stress were present, ranging from mild to severe. These findings underscore the necessity of addressing mental health challenges specific to homemakers. Implementing support programs tailored to alleviate the mental well-being challenges faced by this demographic is crucial.

Abstract

In the digital age, online dating applications have revolutionized the way young adults form romantic connections, providing both opportunities and challenges. Understanding the psychological impacts of these platforms is crucial. Young adults, while navigating romantic pursuits and various developmental challenges, are susceptible to feelings of loneliness. Dating anxiety is a significant factor that can exacerbate loneliness within this demographic. Moreover, gender differences may influence individuals' experiences in dating situations. This research aims to explore the relationship between dating anxiety and loneliness among users of dating applications and to examine the role of gender as a moderating variable in this relationship. The study employs a quantitative correlational approach, incorporating demographic data and two scales: the Dating Anxiety Scale and the UCLA Loneliness Scale 3. The research participants consist of 250 early adults aged 20-34 who actively use online dating applications. Data analysis involves descriptive analysis and moderation analysis using the Jamovi software. The research findings indicate a significant direct relationship between dating anxiety and loneliness (p less than 0.001). Furthermore, gender was found to have no significant impact on loneliness (p more than 0.05), and the interaction between dating anxiety and gender was not significant (p more than 0.05). This suggests a uniform impact among both genders in the relationship between dating anxiety and loneliness. The study highlights the complex dynamics influencing loneliness among online dating application users. The findings enhance theoretical understanding of how dating anxiety relates to loneliness. Practically, these insights can help developers create features that reduce anxiety and loneliness. Future research should identify other factors influencing these dynamics to further enrich theoretical and practical knowledge in this field.

Abstract

In the digital era, students increasingly rely on technology for academic purposes, yet they also face significant challenges such as cyberslacking—using the internet for non-academic activities during study time. This study investigates the role of emotion regulation in moderating the relationship between academic stress and cyberslacking among university students. A quantitative research design with a correlational approach was employed, involving 100 participants who completed online surveys assessing academic stress, emotion regulation, and cyberslacking behaviors. The Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), Perception of Academic Stress Scale (PASS), and Cyberslacking Scale were utilized to gather data. Descriptive statistics, assumption testing, and moderation analysis were conducted using Jamovi software. The research findings indicate a significant positive relationship between academic stress and cyberslacking (Estimate = 0.69, p<0.01). Additionally, no relationship was found between emotion regulation and cyberslacking (p>0.05). Furthermore, the interaction between academic stress and emotion regulation on cyberslacking was also not significant (p>0.05). Specifically, students with lower emotion regulation exhibited a stronger association between academic stress and cyberslacking, while those with higher emotion regulation showed a reduced impact. These findings highlight the importance of effective emotion regulation in mitigating the negative effects of academic stress on cyberslacking.

Abstract

Employment provides economic and psychological benefits for mothers but also presents significant challenges that can impact psychological well-being. This study aims to explore the effects of mindful parenting and stress on the psychological well-being of working mothers. This research tests the hypothesis that mindful parenting can improve psychological well-being and that stress can decrease it, with mindful parenting serving as a moderator in this relationship. Using a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 87 working mothers via an online questionnaire. Analysis results show that mindful parenting has a significant positive effect on psychological well-being (p 0.001), while stress has a significant negative effect (p = 0.047). However, the interaction between stress and mindful parenting was not significant (p = 0.995). These findings suggest that mindful parenting plays an important role in enhancing psychological well-being, although it may not moderate the impact of stress. The study contributes to the literature by highlighting the role of parenting mindfulness as a positive factor in working mothers’ mental health. Future research using longitudinal or experimental designs is recommended to assess causal relationships and to explore other protective factors such as resilience and social support that may interact with stress and parenting.

Abstract

Generation Z, known as digital natives, is highly familiar with technology and social media, which can influence various aspects of life, including marital satisfaction. This study aimed to explore the role of loneliness as a moderator in the relationship between partner phubbing and marital satisfaction in Generation Z. A correlational quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed in this research. The study involved 204 Generation Z participants aged 20-29 who had been married for 1-7 years. The research instruments included a partner phubbing scale, a marital satisfaction scale, and a loneliness scale. Data analysis was conducted using the moderation mediation module in Jamovi. The results indicated that both partner phubbing and loneliness were negatively related to marital satisfaction (Z = -2.633, p < .001; Z = -3.843, p < .001). This suggests that higher levels of phubbing experienced by partners are associated with lower reported marital satisfaction. Furthermore, greater loneliness was found to be linked to lower marital satisfaction in Generation Z. However, no moderating effect of loneliness was found in the relationship between partner phubbing and marital satisfaction (Z = 0.794, p = .427). This indicates that the impact of phubbing on marital satisfaction remains consistent for individuals with both low and high levels of loneliness. This study offers valuable insights for Generation Z couples on the impact of technology use on marital relationships, highlighting the importance of considering loneliness in maintaining relationship quality. Education on the mindful use of technology is crucial for achieving marital satisfaction among Generation Z.

Abstract

Abstract

Single mothers have challenges in parenting because they have to care alone for their children, which affects their well-being. This research aims to examine the relationship between mindful parenting and subjective well-being among single mothers. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a positive correlation between mindful parenting and subjective well-being among single mothers. The subjects of this study are single mothers who have experienced divorce, either through a living or deceased spouse, within a range of one to five years. Data collection methods involve using the Mindfulness In Parenting Questionnaire (MIPQ) to assess mindful parenting and the Subjective Well-being scale. The data analysis method employed is the Pearson product-moment correlation. Based on the data analysis results, a correlation coefficient 0.553 is obtained with a significance level of p=0.000 (p < 0.050). These findings indicate a positive correlation between mindful parenting and subjective well-being, suggesting that higher levels of mindful parenting are associated with higher levels of subjective well-being among single mothers.
